Magical Systems In Other Worlds
Chapter 20: Intense Training

Less than two hours of training, Leo had already fainted three times.

“T-Wait... Let me catch my breath. I'm tired..” Leo gasped for breath as he lay on the cold metal floor.

“Sure. Go ahead and take it as long as you need. However, know that for every minute you take, I will increase the intensity of the workout to another level!” Chrome said in a cold voice.

Compared to the friendly and humble characters before the training began, the current Khrome was like a ferocious beast torturing humans for fun.

When he heard such threatening words, Leo reluctantly forced himself back to his feet and began to swing his sword again.

However, a few moments later—

“Wrong! Your elbows should be higher! Your sword position is wrong!” Chrome corrects Leo every time he makes a mistake, even hitting him with a wooden sword for every mistake.

‘Dirt! It felt like I was whipped with steel chains even though he was clearly using a wooden sword! What kind of training is this?! Worse still, he didn't allow me to drink any stamina potion when I was completely exhausted! Why do I even agree to do this again?!’

“Ah!” Leo shouted after being hit again.

“Free your mind of unnecessary thoughts and focus on your sword and movement!” shouts Khrome afterwards.

As soon as Leo completely exhausted the last energy in his body an hour later, Khrome gave him a potion of stamina and said, “Drink and stand back.”

After downing the stamina potion in one move, Leo stood back up and continued to train without waiting for his stamina to fully recover.

This makes Leo feel as if he is constantly tired—like he is always on the verge of collapse.

‘It's pipsqueak .. He has some incredible mental fortitude to endure all this for so long.’ thought Khrome in heart, as he expected Leo would give an hour to their training.

‘It's been five hours since we started, but he didn't complain even once. When my teacher used this training method on me for the first time, I gave up within half an hour and constantly complained.’

At around 5pm, Khrome stopped Leo's training and said, “Hey, it's a break. Eat something for yourself, but don't eat too much, or you'll throw it all away when you start practicing again.”

“I'm too tired to move, and I prefer to lie here and rest.”

“As per yourself. I'll be back in an hour.” Chrome said to him before leaving.

Meanwhile, Leo closed his eyes and fell asleep on the spot.

An hour passed in the blink of an eye.

When Khrome returned to the training room, he woke Leo from his nap, which felt like it only lasted for a few seconds.

Training continued after that.

As soon as Leo mastered ten combos at midnight, Khrome said to him, “It looks like you have talent with swords. I don't think you'll learn all 10 combos so quickly. Since this is the case, I will add five more combos!”

Leo wanted to complain, but he could feel himself improving, so he decided to keep his mouth shut.

At three in the morning, when Leo mastered five more combos, Khrome gave him another potion of stamina.

“Before we start the next training phase, I want you to recover fully.” Krom said.

Leo almost cried after hearing these beautiful words.

While Leo recovered, Chrome spoke to him, “So, you want to know why Camille is known as a Saint, right?”

“Ya.”

“That's because he is one of the strongest healers in the country. Its magic affinity for the light element was also very high. Before she became a nurse in the Four Witches Academy, she was an S-Rank Adventurer who had accumulated a lot of reputation and achievements.”

“I don't know why she decided to become a nurse at that school, but she used to be a famous Adventurer before she retired.”

“Teriously?” Leo listened to all this information with his mouth wide.

“Isn't Miss Camille still in her twenties? How could he achieve so much at such a young age?”

“He who most people refer to as a prodigy. Some would even call him a monster. She also started her career as an Adventurer at the age of 11.”

“Wow... I see it in a new way now.”

A while later, Khrome took his sword again and said, “Alright. The break time is over. Let's start the second phase of your training.”

He pointed the sword at Leo and continued, “Although you may have mastered 15 combos, you haven't really perfected them yet. There is a difference between memorizing and using it. And in order for you to truly master it, you must gain experience through real combat. Therefore, you will fight me for the rest of your time here. ”

“And if you think this will be easier than the first phase, I have bad news for you.”

The chrome suddenly emitted a powerful aura from his body, which caused Leo to freeze in fear.

‘A-What feeling is this? My instinct told me to run!’ Leo trembled nonstop.

“Why are you standing there?! Training has begun! Come to me if you don't want to die!”

Khrome suddenly roared as he rushed towards Leo.

Leo subconsciously swung the sword towards Khrome, but the sword was easily blocked.

“What the fuck was that ugly swing, huh?! Have you forgotten everything you learned today?! Attack and defend with the Shapeless Sword Dance!”

“Ya!”

Leo gritted his teeth and tried his best to withstand the pressure of the Chrome while also trying to use the Shapeless Sword Dance, but it was much easier said than done.

“Good! Come at me like you want to kill me! I can see it in your eyes— killing intent! Ha ha ha!” Chrome seemed to enjoy his training with Leo.

Although Leo was not strong enough to make him fight seriously, he admired Leo's persistence and dedication, something that not even many high-ranking Adventurers had.

While Leo is training with Khrome, Miss Camille is wandering the city for her own business.

“Welcome to Potion Haven, Saintess. Are you here to get more potions? ” The shopkeeper asked Miss Camille, as if she was a regular customer.

“Yes, but give me 10 times than usual.”

“T-Ten times? Are you planning to leave town?”

“Sort of.”

“I understand. Please give me a few minutes to prepare.”

While Miss Camille waited for the shopkeeper to return, she looked around the shop to see if there was anything else she needed.

As soon as the shopkeeper returned, Miss Camille paid for the potion which ended up costing her a million dollars.

“Thank you for your business as usual, Saintess. I hope this means you will leave retirement and return to being an Adventurer.” The shopkeeper said.

“What I am involved in at the moment is much more dangerous than being an Adventurer,” he suddenly said.

“Hah?” The shopkeeper looked at him with wide eyes.

“See you again.” However, Miss Camille left without explaining further.

Some time later, Miss Camille entered another building, and this building looked much more luxurious than the herb shop.

“Welcome back at Mirage Auction House, Saintess.” A man in a black suit greeted Miss Camille shortly after she entered the building.

“There is a decent today?” He asked in a calm voice.

“This is today's artifact list. We have A-Rank artifacts auctioned off in about an hour.” The man handed her a pamphlet.

After taking a glimpse of the artifact, Miss Camille turned around and walked out without saying a word.

“See you again, Saintess.” The man did not mind his actions at all and even bowed to him.

The next day, Miss Camille went to check on Leo two hours before the end of her training.

‘He may not be better than a corpse now ..’ He thinks inwardly as he walks into their training room.

Upon entering the room, Miss Camille's eyes widened in shock upon seeing the scene inside.

‘She really did Chrome training?!’ He cried inwardly when he saw that Leo was arguing with Khrome.

Not wanting to disturb them, Miss Camille stood at the door and waited for them to finish.

After two hours of non-stop fighting, Khrome said, “Alright, we are done with training. You can stop now.”

However, as if he did not hear Krom, Leo continued to swing his sword.

“Build!” Khrome hit Leo's head with a wooden sword, knocking him down.

After being knocked down, Leo did not get back up.

“Oh shit ..” Chrome quickly go to check Leo.

“Good, she is still alive.” She sighed in relief.

“What happened here?” Miss Camille approached them and asked.

Khrome looked at him and smiled, “You bought me an incredible monster. And I'm not talking about his strength or his talent. He really did endure the entire training. If he can continue to persist in my training, he will easily reach my level in a few months.”

“So you think he's gifted with a sword?”

“Although he is not a prodigy like you, he has good potential.”

Miss Camille couldn't help but smile after hearing Khrome's words, and she said, “She may not look like that now, but she's really magical, maybe even a monster.”

“Hah?” Khrome raised his eyebrows in a questioning manner.

“You will know it soon. I plan to make him an Adventurer in two weeks.”

“An Adventurer, yes?”

After pondering for a moment, Khrome spoke, “Hei, Saint. I know our deal only lasts until today, but I'd like to continue to coach him for the next two weeks if you don't mind. I will not ask for any payment. ”

“Your reason?” She asked.

“This pipsqueak has piqued my interest.” She smiles.

“I won't say anything. Leon can decide for himself once he wakes up.”

“Good.” Krom nodded.

Seriate...
