Chapter 11: Magic Artifacts

Leo woke up the next morning with pain all over his body, especially around his shoulders and arms.

“Good morning, Leo.” Lilith greeted him as she opened her eyes.

“Ah... I have never been this sick since I first exercised..” murmured with a painful voice.

“Maybe sick, but if you don't get up soon, you'll be late to school.” Lilit says.

“What? What time is it?”

“Seven on point.”

Leo sighed. After spending a few seconds to finish herself, she got out of bed and went to wash her face.

Five minutes later, he got dressed and left the dormitory.

“Do you know that you like to talk while sleeping?” Lilith suddenly asked him as she walked towards her homeroom.

“Betulkah? What did I say?” Leo curious.

“You dreamed about using magic, right? You shouted ‘Black Bullet!’ and ‘Fire Black!’ with loud noise all night.” Lilith chuckled at him.

Moments later, Leo arrives at his class three minutes before the homeroom begins.

“Good morning, Leo!” His classmates greeted him with bright smiles as he walked through the door.

“Good morning all.” Leo replied to them with a stiff smile, which felt very awkward as he never returned the greetings of his old classmates.

“Did you sleep well last night, Leo?” One of the students asked him.

“Yes, I sleep like logs.” He's nodding.

“Good for you. I know I won't be able to sleep well knowing that I will fight Kayn in a month.”

‘Damn it, why do you have to bring up such an unpleasant topic this morning?’ Leo cried in his heart.

“You fought Kayn in a month? Really surprise. You don't think of me as a fighting type. ” Lilith says after hearing about her challenge with Kayn for the first time.

“I know you are talented, but even with your talent, you have to train hard if you want to beat someone like Kayn in a month. He is someone with over 15 years of experience with magic and combat when you just started yesterday.”

“I have no choice. I have to fight it whether I accept the challenge or not. The only difference is when I have to fight it. If I refuse, he will fight me there and then. ” Leo sighed in a low voice.

“Do not worry. As long as you have me as your teacher, you will be able to defeat Kayn in a month! ” Lilith said confidently.

‘Although you taught me magic and I cannot use magic in public?’ Leo shook his head inwardly.

After the homeroom teacher, Professor Jasmine begins their first class.

“Leo, can you finish this?” Jasmine chose Leo for their first question of the day.

“I can.”

Leo stood up and walked to the board.

He returned to his seat a moment later after leaving a perfect answer on the board.

‘As I thought.. His appearance yesterday was not just a coincidence! He somehow became smart!’ Jasmine cheered in her heart.

Despite not being smart in the classroom before, Leo still managed to become his favorite student. Now that he was smart, his impression of him increased by several folds!

Time passed very quickly, and before Leo realized, it was time to go home.

“The weekend starts tomorrow. If you plan to leave the school environment, be sure to notify the school and check out at the school entrance. Have fun.” Jasmine said to the students before leaving the classroom.

“What will you do on the weekend, Leo?” The students asked him.

“You want to hang out? I know a good place near our academy.”

“Sorry, but I already have plans with Miss Camille.” Leo said to them with an apologetic smile.

“Hah? School nurse? Why?”

“He was responsible for my recovery,” Leo gave them a random but understandable excuse.

“So... Then we will bother you next time. Good luck, Leo!” The students no longer bothered him.

Leo did not linger in the classroom and immediately headed for the training center, where Miss Camille was already waiting.

“How do you feel?” Miss Camille asked him.

“Sick.”

“Good. That means you are growing.”

Leo followed him to a private training room shortly after.

“Because we trained your upper body yesterday, we will train your lower body today. I'd like you to run around the room until you can't lift your legs anymore. It will help you get more durability quickly.”

“I understand.” Leo said without complaining.

“Before you start, wear this around your wrists and ankles.”

Miss Camille gave her four metallic green bracelets.

“What is this?” She asked.

“It is a Class-F magic artifact that will increase your endurance and stamina, allowing you to practice longer.”

“Isn't this cheating? Besides, I artificially increased my stamina. ”

“No, no. It's hard to explain, so I won't bother. However, I would say that this is a very common training method used by everyone who can afford this artifact.”

“How much is it?” Leo asked out of curiosity.

“20,000 dollars each.” Miss Camille casually said.

“What?! So I will practice with 80,000 dollars for me?! If I stumble and accidentally break it during training, you better not expect me to pay for it! ”

“I won't do it. The school has a lot of them, anyways. ”

“That's not the case here ..” Leo sighed.

As someone born in a typical household, 80,000 dollars is a huge amount of money that would take years to work and save to accumulate, he said, however he would wear equipment worth it just for training. That's just incomprehensible.

“If you do not want to use it and make things difficult for yourself, of course.” Miss Camille said as she gestured for him to return the artifact.

“A-Who said anything about not using it?” Leo quickly put on all four artifacts, one on each limb, and he started running around the room at full speed.

An hour later, Leo was surprised to see that he was still running without being out of breath.

Normally, he would be out of breath after a few minutes of running at his full speed, yet he could run a full hour without much difficulty.

‘This magical artifact is amazing! I feel like I can run around the world as long as I wear it!’ Leo becomes more motivated to practice with this new toy.

After running for another two hours, Leo finally collapsed on the floor as he exhausted his entire stamina.

“Three hours, huh? Not bad for the first time.” Miss Camille approached him.

He proceeded to take something from his spatial storage and put it on the floor before Leo.

“What is this?” He asked her after seeing the item, which was a clear glass bottle with about three ounces of green liquid inside.

“It's a stamina potion. This will increase your stamina recovery rate. You should return to full energy within 15 minutes of drinking it. ” Miss Camille explained.

“My gods! This world is amazing! No wonder everyone is so strong! As long as I have this stamina potion, I can train all day and not run out of energy!”

However, Miss Camille shook her head and said, “Your body is too weak right now, so you can only drink this one every 12 hours.”

“Although that's the case, it's still three extra hours to exercise daily!” Leo immediately drank the stamina potion and waited for his stamina to recover.

Fifteen minutes later, he again ran around the room for another three hours.

Meanwhile, Miss Camille continued reading her book near the door while waiting for her to finish.
