Chapter 19: Adventurer Guild
“Adventurer Guild? Why do we go there?” ask Leo.
“Oh? You know about the Adventurers Guild? Are they also in your world?”
“Only in fantasy novels and such. I learned about them not long ago. ”
“You want to be strong quickly, right? Being an Adventurer will help you achieve that.”
“Did you tell me to fight monsters? I can't even fight with humans in this world, and you've already thrown me into monsters?! There should be a limit to how fast we do certain things!”
“Against monsters is much easier than against humans. You will learn it soon. Unlike humans, most monsters have little to zero intelligence, so they operate solely on instinct, which will limit their movements and actions.”
“Also, I won't make you fight monsters right away. You still need some experience. The real reason we went to the Adventurers Guild today was to meet a certain Adventurer. He was known as the Sword King Khrome, and he was an A-Rank Adventurer. He will also be your teacher for today and tomorrow.”
Half an hour later, Miss Camille parked the car.
“Before we enter the Adventurers Guild, I want you to wear this necklace.” Miss Camille suddenly gave him a silver necklace.
“What is this?”
“This is a D-Rank artifact that changes your face and voice. You will be known as Leon outside the academy. This way, you can practice without constantly worrying about others. I've made a face for you, so you just need to activate it with your mana. ”
Leo gulped nervously before asking him, “Nona Camille, I won't get angry, so can you tell me the truth? Did you steal my package using my face?”

Miss Camille suddenly hit her head with her fists.

Her slippery black hair had turned dark blonde, and her eyes had turned brown.
“Sial, even my voice sounds so strange! Is this the type of guy you like, Miss Camille?”
“I chose it because I knew you'd hate it. Now stop complaining and get out of the car. We're two minutes late from the appointment.”
Leo sighed and left the car.
Some time later, she followed Miss Camille to a large building that did not look like an Adventurer Guild in the fantasy stories she had always read. Compared to a tavern-like building in his imagination, the Adventurers Guild in this world looked more like an office building.
“I have an appointment with the King of Swords Krom.”
“S-Welcome to our humble Guild, Saintess!” The person at the reception seemed to recognize Miss Camille.
‘Did he just call him Saintess?’ Leo doubted his ears.
“Sword King Khrome is waiting for you in room three!”
“I understand.”
“Let's go,” he said as he looked at Leo.
A few minutes later, they entered a room where a tall and large man was seen standing by the window, quietly gazing out with an intensive gaze.
“I apologize for the delay despite being the one who arranged this meeting.” Miss Camille said after entering the room.
The big man turned around and looked at them with a serious expression on his face.
Leo gulped nervously, wondering if he would start yelling at them.
However, to his surprise, the man suddenly showed a humble and friendly smile, “Don't worry! Since Saintess called me, I don't mind waiting for a few more hours! Ha ha ha!”
He then looked at Leo and continued, “Is this what you want me to train?”
“Yes, his name is Leon, and I want you to teach him how to use the sword.”
“Leon, huh? Nice to meet you, pipsqueak. You can call me Krom. I'm the best swordsman in town. Since Saintess has asked me to train you, I will make sure that you become the second best swordsman in the city, just below me!
“About payment, I'll definitely compensate you for your time and effort.” Miss Camille suddenly said.
“I don't care about money! If you promise to have dinner with me, I'll teach him for free!
“You are still as cold as usual, so.” Khrom laughed out loud.
“By the way, let's start training now. Follow me, Leon.” Krom said to her.
Leo nodded and followed him to the training room located under the Guild.
“How much experience do you have with swords?” Krom suddenly asked him.
“Not much if any at all. I just swung my sword aimlessly to increase my strength over the past week. ”
“Is that so? Give this sword a swing for me.” Chrome suddenly threw a steel sword at him.
Leo subconsciously went to catch the sword, but he immediately regretted his actions, as the sword weighed about 50kg, which was more than he could handle.
“Hah?” Khrome looked at Leo with wide eyes.
“The maximum is 40kg, and she started practicing just a week ago,” Miss Camille said.
“No way... She's weaker than I thought. Looks like we have a lot of work to do, pipsqueak.”
“This, use this instead.” Miss Camille gives Leo the sword she uses to practice.
Now that he had a sword that he could actually swing, Leo swung the sword several times for Khrome.
“Alright, you can stop now.” says Chrome a moment later.
And he continued, “Your form is not bad for someone who just started it a week ago. You must have spent a lot of time swinging the sword.”
“You don't know ..” Leo sighed.
“However, despite your good appearance, you lack every other aspect. Your sword swing feels empty. It has no emotions and experience. And worse still— feels very weak.”

“Then I'll leave you two. Leon, I'll come pick you up tomorrow.” said Miss Camille.
“Hah?” Leo looked at him with wide eyes.
Khrome suddenly patted his back and said, “Do you think you're going to sleep tonight? Sorry, but you'll be sweating all night with me, pipsqueak!”
“You must be kidding ..” Leo muttered in a dumbfounded voice.
Miss Camille smiled looking at the pain on her face and said, “May it work. See you tomorrow.”
And without saying a word, he disappeared.
“Wow, I don't think I'll ever see Saintess smile. What's your relationship with him?” Chrome asked her after she left.
“He's like my guardian.. By the way, why do you keep calling him Saintess?” Leo finally got a chance to ask.
“Hah? You don't know?”
“Should I know?” Leo raised an eyebrow.
“Excellent ...” Chrome shook his head.
“By the way, I want to tell you about him, but we don't have time. If I'm going to turn you into a proper swordsman in a day and a half, we're going to need every minute we can get.”
“Now I will show you the basics of swordsmanship. Watch and learn.”
Khrome started dancing around the training room with a sword in his hand.
Leo looked at him with ama.
A few minutes later, Khrome stopped his movement and said, “What you just witnessed is a sword technique called ‘Dance Sword Without Form’. This is one of the easiest sword techniques to learn but also the most difficult to master.”
“There are a total of ninety-nine different combos in this technique, but you will only learn the first ten, which is more than enough to make you qualify as a swordsman.”
“This, use this.” Chrome gave Leo two stamina bracelets and two strength bracelets.
Once Leo wears the artifact, Chrome officially begins his hell training, something Leo will remember for the rest of his life.
