Magical Systems In Other Worlds
Chapter 16: Monsters

After spending 7 long, slow hours at school, Leo prepares to leave the classroom to go to the training center for another training day.

However, before he could go anywhere, Professor Jasmine approached him and said, “Hey, Leo.”

“Ya?”

“You may not know this because you suffer from amnesia, but we will hold a lesson at the Coliseum tomorrow.”

“Excuse me? On what?” Leo doubted his ears.

They have a coliseum in the academy?

“Colossums. It was right behind the Training Center. We go there every Tuesday to practice swordsmanship, and there will even be instructors to guide you.” Jasmine explained.

“I understand. I'll be there tomorrow morning.”

“I didn't expect you to participate because of your injuries, but since we practice swordsmanship, you might remember a thing or two,” he said.

Leo nodded despite knowing full well that he would not remember anything.

After leaving the school building, she went to the Training Center and began her training with Miss Camille.

“Does everyone in school practice swordsmanship?” Leo suddenly asked Miss Camille towards the end of their training.

“Not everyone, but the majority of knights do.”

“So, is the non-magic student a knight in this school?”

“Ya it's right.”

“Why did you suddenly ask this question?” Miss Camille is curious.

“Well, we are supposed to hold our class at the Coliseum tomorrow, and the students will practice swordsmanship according to Professor Jasmine.”

“Oh, you are right. I forgot about that.” Miss Camille suddenly frowned.

“What's the problem?” Leo asked her after seeing her expression.

“You may have to argue with students from other classes tomorrow.”

“What the fuck? I think we were just there to train. ”

“Ya, and sparring with other students is considered an exercise. In fact, it's very common. Although no one dared to argue with Leo before, there might be some students who want to test your current level.”

“And to be honest, I don't want you to argue with other students yet.”

“I know. I'm not strong enough, am I?” said Leo.

“No, not that. I don't want any other teacher to be suspicious of you. That's it.”

“Do not worry, I have no intention to fight anyone until I am strong enough.”

“Good.”

The next morning, Leo went to the Coliseum, which is about a five-minute walk from the Training Center.

“Gosh, this place is much bigger than I expected.” muttered Leo in a surprised voice after arriving at the Coliseum, which is the size of at least three football stadiums.

After spending a few moments admiring the building, Leo followed the dozens of students inside.

Once inside the Coliseum, Leo looked around the open field to find Professor Jasmine. Fortunately, he was easily recognized for his unique appearance.

Some time later, she was in a group with Jasmine and the other students in her class.

“Are all the students here for training? I can even see the magic student here.” asked Leo.

“Yes. The knights train on the left side of the field and the magic students practice on the right side of the field. If you want to argue with them, you just need to walk towards them and challenge them.” Jasmine nodded.

“Ya... I don't think so..”.

When all the students for their class arrived, Professor Jasmine said, “Take ten minutes to warm up, then we will start practicing.”

“Ya!”

All the students there carried their own swords, so they immediately began warming up by swinging the swords into the empty air in front of them.

Only Leo was there empty-handed.

“Sorry, I didn't know we needed to bring our own swords.” Leo said.

“Don't worry about that. I've told you that I'm not expecting you to train with us today. ”

“I know, but I still want to train at my own pace. Do you have a sword I can borrow? ”

Jasmine pointed at the weapon rack in the distance and said, “You can use one of them.”

“I'll be back soon.”

Leo ran to the weapon rack and started looking at the sword there.

All the swords were arranged by weight, so it didn't take long before Leo found what he was looking for a 15kg sword.

Furthermore, 15kg was the lightest sword on the shelf.

After spending the entire weekend with Miss Camille, the strength of her arms increased to the point where she could swing the sword with that weight without an artifact.

Now that he also had a sword, Leo started warming up with the other students by swinging his sword.

“Why did Leo swing such a light sword? It was like swinging a feather for a guy like him.” His classmates muttered to each other.

After all, even though Leo had lost his memory, amnesia had nothing to do with one's strength.

“That must be because of the wound.”

“Her injury must have been so serious that she lost so much strength, yet she still entered the class as usual. How awesome.”

“I want to know what really happened to him.”

“We can only guess for now because even he does not know.”

“Now everyone has warmed up, it's time to exercise.”

Professor Jasmine retrieved a box from the spatial storage like Miss Camille while the students lined up in front of her.

The students went on to put their hands into this box before taking out a piece of paper that had a number written on it.

“Those who choose the same number will compete against each other. If you want to challenge someone, you can do it after your first fight.” Jasmine said to them.

And for the next two hours, the students from Leo's class would argue with each other in the open field.

Of course, other classes do the same but in different locations in the open field.

“What do you think? Do you remember anything?” Jasmine approached Leo about half an hour into their training and asked him.

“Sorry, I'm not.” Leo shook his head.

“So... Well, you have plenty of time to remember now that you've returned to the academy in a safe and healthy place.”

“I will not call this place safe..” Leo showed a bitter smile to him.

“I don't think I can refute it, but trust me, it's much better than out of town, where vampires and monsters roam freely.”

“Hah? A monster? I know about vampires, but there are monsters too?” This was the first time Leo had heard of monsters.

“Of course. Vampires are actually quite rare compared to monsters, but they are also much stronger than monsters, mostly due to their intelligence and knowledge

“So ..” Leo involuntarily glanced at Lilith, who was flying around the open field and paying attention to the other students.

After all the students fought at least once, Jasmine said to them, “You can now challenge another class if you want.”

After gaining his approval, most of the students in the class went looking for opponents from other classes.

However, they only dared to approach other ordinary students.

Leo stayed with Jasmine and watched from a distance. However, he quickly became bored just standing around, so he started practicing on his own again.

When students from other classes saw Leo practicing on his own, some of them approached him.

“Hey, Leo, let's have a match.” A big student whose head is higher than what Leo told him.

“Sorry, but I'm in no condition to argue with others.” Leo immediately rejected the challenge.

“Hah! Are you scared? You were the last person I expected to refuse a fight! ” The big student mocked him.

Leo stopped swinging his sword and glanced at the student.

“If you want to fight, I will fight as you like after I deal with Kayn. Whatis yourname? If you don't come looking for me, I'll come looking for you.”

The large-bodied student gulped nervously after hearing Leo's words.

“A-I'll be back after your challenge with Kayn then..” The big-bodied student quickly turned around and walked away.

A few more students from the other classes approached Leo for a match, but they were all closed.

“Leo completely changed. Don't even dare to fight with ordinary students— he turned into a coward.”

The magic students on the other side of the Coliseum had noticed Leo, as they were looking forward to seeing him compete. However, that seems impossible anymore.

Moments later, someone there shouted while pointing at a certain person, “L-Look to it!”

“Gosh, what is he doing here? He had never appeared to train before!”

The magic students there watched a red-haired student approach an unconscious Leo.

“LEO!” The red-haired student shouted his name once he got close enough.

“Hah?” Leo quickly turned around to see a beautiful young girl walking towards him with an angry expression on her pretty face.

‘Who is this girl?’ Leo wondered in his heart.

“Sorry, but if you want to argue with me, I have to refuse.” He said to her a moment later.

However, the young girl ignored his words and pointed her sword at him.

“You promised to fight me! However, you are ‘mati’ the day before our fight! I have waited three months for this moment!”

“Sorry, but I don't even remember who you are. If you want to fight me, I don't mind, but there is a line of people waiting to fight me. Please wait for your turn. ” Leo shook his head.

“HERO ME!”

The red-haired student suddenly brandished his sword towards Leo.

However, he stopped his movements right before his sword touched his neck.

“So... So this is how you want to play, huh?” He took his sword and sighed.

And without any explanation, he turned around and walked away.

‘A-What the fuck? I can't even see his movements now!’ Leo awoke from a daze and cried inwardly.

The only reason he did not try to dodge his attack was simply because he could not react!

As soon as the red-haired student left, he asked Jasmine, “Who was that student just now?”

“It was the sister of the red witch, Tia Barnett. He has strong challenging habits.” Jasmine said.

“Red Witch?” Leo raised his eyebrows.

“Yes, she has the highest magic affinity for fire in this entire academy, and she is also one of the most powerful students.”

“With that, her younger sister, Tia Barnett, is not so talented, therefore she continues to challenge the strong as a way to prove her strength to others. Just ignore him, Leo. He will stop bothering you after a while.”

“That's exactly what I want to do,” he said.

Seriate...
