Chapter 13: The Power of Magic
After spending two hours swinging his sword at the Slime Dummy, Leo was out of breath and stamina even though he had lasted three hours before.
“This, eat this.” Miss Camille gave him some more candy.
Afterwards, Leo asked her, “Are you going to teach me magic now?”
He shook his head and said, “We will do it after you take a break and I have lunch. I'll see you back here in an hour. ”
“Good.” Leo nodded.
Leo returned to his room to take a short shower before returning to the cafeteria.
After his stomach was full, he returned to the training center with 15 minutes of free time.
‘This place is not like the gymnasium I know, and also much bigger. Let's have a look.’
With that in mind, Leo started wandering around the training center.
The inside of the building was mostly made up of private hallways and training rooms, so Leo did not mind it. Instead, he inspected the area behind the training center, where there was an outdoor training field.
There, he could see ordinary students and magic students doing their own things. Ordinary students were practicing their weapon techniques on Slime Dummies and other objects while magic students trained their magic spells on puppets that seemed to be made of crystal.
Leo focused on magic students because they were the most attractive to him.
“Ball fire!” A young man pointed his palm at the 10-meter crystal puppet in front of him and shouted loudly.
A fist-sized fireball appeared before the magic student before flying into the crystal puppet
However, the crystal puppet suddenly emitted a colorless ethereal light, absorbing the fireball before it could be broken.
A moment after absorbing the magic, the crystal puppet pulsed with a green light.
“What happened?” Leo asked Lilith.
“It was a Magic Absorbent Doll. It will absorb all the magic spells and evaluate the magic power of that magic spell,” he explained.
“Magic power above 100 and below 500 will emit green light.500 to 1,000 will emit blue light. 1,000 to 2,000 will emit a purple glow. 2,000 to 3,000 will emit orange light. 3,000 to 5,000 will emit a red light with 5,000 as the limit. ”
Leo pondered for a moment before speaking, “I understand the function of the puppet and its purpose, but I don't understand the part of its magic power.”
“Then let me give you some examples.” Lilit says.
And he continued, “It's hard to evaluate magic power because of the many variables, but here's the point. A magic power of around 500 is usually strong enough to break a bone. About 1,000 are strong enough to make a hole in your body if you don't have any protection. Magic power about 2,000 strong enough to destroy the whole building.”
Leo raised an eyebrow and asked, “In your opinion, how much magic power does someone like Kayn have?”
“Well, it depends on what kind of magic spell he uses, but he should be able to cast at least 1,000 magic powers with any Tier 2 magic spell.”
Leo gulped nervously after hearing this, and then he asked, “A-What about me? My Black Bullet was able to make a hole in the wall. That should be at least 500, right? ”
“Ya it's right.” Lilit nodded.
And he thought to himself, ‘Typically, a Tier 1 magic used by a beginner like him would only have around 100 magic powers, but due to his high magic affinity, it was only because of his magic affinity, he was able to produce at least 500 on his first try .. Terrible talent ..’
After watching a few more minutes, Leo walked into the building and waited for Miss Camille to return.
When she arrived, she quickly went to greet him with a smile, “Welcome back, Miss Camille!”
“I know you really want to use magic, Leo, but I have to warn you. Even if I teach you magic today, there is no guarantee that you can directly use it. Before using magic, you need to memorize the magic circle, and that alone can take hours if not days.”

Miss Camille took the laptop and opened two video files.

Miss Camille opened the first video file, which showed a middle-aged man using Black Bullet.
“The second magic spell is called ‘Dark’ Barrier. This is a defensive magic spell that creates a barrier around you, protecting you from danger. However, it can only be used when there are shadows around you, and the darker, the stronger the barrier, so this magic spell is the most powerful at night.”
After showing him the second video of the magic spell being used, he asked him, “Which magic spell do you want to learn first?”
“Dark Barrier!” Leo replied without hesitation, to the surprise of Miss Camille, who was confident she would choose Black Bullet first.
“Why did you choose Dark Barrier? I'm sure you'll choose Black Bullet. ” He decided to ask her.
Although he did not lie about his desire to feel safer, it was not entirely true. However, there was no way he could tell her that he had already learned Black Bullet from a vampire spirit.
“Furthermore, since I cannot use magic in public, there is no reason for me to learn offensive magic spells like Black Bullet for now.” He continued to give logical reasons.
‘This man... How unexpected..’ Miss Camille thought to herself.
“Good. Here's the magic circle for the Dark Barrier. I will give you a magic circle for Black Bullet after you can use Dark Barrier,” he handed me a piece of paper with a magic circle perfectly drawn on it.
Leo received the paper, observed the magic circle with ama, and proceeded to return the paper to Miss Camille.

“What are you doing?” Looking at his actions, he asked her with eyebrows raised in confusion.
“I've memorized it,” he replied calmly.
“What? There is no way you can memorize it so quickly.” Miss Camille immediately doubted it.
“But it's true.”
“Memorizing magic circles is not like memorizing words in a book. It's more like memorizing every little detail on a very detailed piece of art with a complex design. If you miss the slightest detail, you will not be able to use magic properly, and the magic circle is naturally difficult to memorize. “I don't know what to say to you, Miss Camille. I totally memorized it.” Leo shrugged his shoulders.
“If that's true, then you should be able to use magic spells now.”

Miss Camille approached him, placed her palm on his chest, and poured some mana into his body.
“Do you feel it?”
“Yes, I'm ready. It's a very refreshing feeling.”
“Good. Remember this feeling.”
Leo closed his eyes, and a moment later, the shadows in this room suddenly began to gather around his body.
Miss Camille took off her palm and took a few steps back from it, her eyes widening in shock.
‘No way... He actually managed to memorize the magic circle in such a short time..’.
Miss Camille was in disbelief as she stared at the Dark Barrier that enveloped Leo's body like a ball.
“How is it? Does it work?” Leo asked her a while later even though the answer was obvious, because she wanted to apply it to him.
Upon awakening from the daze, Miss Camille handed over another paper, which had a magic circle for Black Bullet on it.
“This is a magic circle for Black Bullet. I want you to remember it and use it.”
Leo nodded, and he calmly accepted the paper.
However, since he had already learned the magic spell, he pretended to learn it.
“OK, I'm done.”
“Shoot to wall. Don't worry, it won't damage the wall.”
After returning the paper to Miss Camille, Leo pointed to the wall and started using Black Bullets.
A small black bullet appeared on his fingertip before flying into the wall in the distance.
The sound of someone hitting a metal wall with a blunt object echoed as the Black Bullet smashed into the wall and disappeared without leaving any dents on the wall.
“Mazard ..” Miss Camille muttered in a confused voice as she stared at the proud smile on Leo's handsome face with a confused face of her own.
