Chapter 18: A General Trope
After waiting outside the bank for 15 minutes, Leo became the first student to enter the bank that day.
“I'm here to access my bank account.” Leo said confidently.
The worker there looked at him and said, “Please and press your hand to the scanner in front of you. We need to confirm your identity first. ”
“Hah?”
Leo's eyes widened in surprise.
‘My hands? Don't tell me they need fingerprints?! Goddamn bum! I don't think it's going to be like this!’ Leo cried in his heart.
“It looks like it won't be as easy as you think, huh?” Lilit laughs.
Leo glanced at him with narrowed eyes.
‘This vampire ghost! He must have known about this before, yet he didn't even bother to warn me!’
“What's wrong?” The worker behind the desk asked Leo as he just stood there in silence.
“K-You know, I have amnesia, so I don't remember how it all worked here.”
“Amnesia? Then you must be the Sword Emperor Leo. I've heard about you.” The worker said with a smile.
And he continued, “To access your bank information and withdraw or deposit money, we have to verify your identity even though we know your face. After all, we can't just rely on someone's face in a world where people can disguise themselves with magic, right?”
“Hah? Such magic spells exist?” Leo remained silent.
“Of course. Although it is quite rare, there are magic artifacts with the ability to change the appearance of someone out there.”
Leo suddenly remembers what happened to his stolen package and wonders if someone has received his package using his face.
“If they can change their appearance, wouldn't that apply to their fingerprints and such?” Leo then asked.
“Haha. There are no magic artifacts out there with such power and accuracy. The best they can do is change their face, voice, and body. Things like their fingerprints and blood type cannot be changed.”
“I understand..”
Leo gulped nervously.
‘Because technically I am Leo, it means I have to have the same fingerprint as Leo in this world, right?’ Leo thought in his heart.
‘What will happen if my fingerprint does not match? It would be problematic. However, they would be suspicious of me if I turned around now.’.
Under such a dilemma, Leo decided to just wish him all the best and pressed his hand against the scanner in front of him.
Leo could feel his heart beating like a drum while waiting for the scanner to scan his fingerprints.
A moment later—
“OK, I've confirmed your identity, Leo. You can now access your bank account.” The worker told him.
‘I-It worked!’ Leo cried out in relief in his heart.
Leo went on to look at his bank account.
“500.000 dollars?!” Leo was overjoyed when he saw the number of digits in his bank account.
In the previous world, 500,000 dollars was enough to buy an entire house, and a pretty good house in some places!
“Wow... Worse than I thought..”.
However, Lilith seemed to be disappointed with the result.
And he continued, “That's hardly enough to buy a normal D-Rank artifact ..”
‘I won't buy any artifacts! I just need money for clothes!’ Leo responded in his head.
Moments later, Leo asked, “By the way, do you guys offer a debit card?”
“Ya, we do it.”
“Can they be used outside the academy?”
“Of course. Do you want one?”
“Please.” Leo nodded.
“Give me a minute.”
The worker left for a few minutes before returning with a red card.
“You must install a new pin for that card. Insert the card into the slot next to the scanner and type the pin you want when it appears on the.” screen
Leo followed the instructions.
“All done. You can now use the card as you see fit. ”
“Thank you!”
Leo left the bank shortly after with a happy expression on his face.
“You know, you technically stole dead people's money with identity fraud?” Lilith reminded.
“S-Shut up.. Not that I'll spend it all. I just spent enough to buy some clothes. ”
“What will you do, get a job? Students are not allowed to have a job if you do not know. ” Lilit says.
“I know. This happens in my world too. With that, students can earn money through exams in my old world. This means that the better your test results, the more money you can receive. Does it work like that in this place too? ”
“Sort. However, instead of tests, you will be paid a fixed amount based on your school's ranking. ”
“It's quite simple, actually. You just have to fight, and if you beat someone with a rank higher than you, you will get that rank and push everyone below you back one rank.”
“I think it would be something like that. This is a magic school.” Leo sighed.
“By the way, what was Leo's previous rating?”
“This may surprise you, but Leo is only ranked 69.”
“Hah? I think he is one of the strongest in the academy. ” Leo raised an eyebrow after hearing this information.
“Indeed, but you can only take someone's ranking through official matches. After all, he earned most of his money by hunting monsters and vampires as an Adventurer.”

At nine, Leo met Miss Camille outside the Training Center.
“Why are you dressed like that? I rarely see you without your white coat.” Leo asked Miss Camille, who was dressed casually, almost like she was going on a date.
“I didn't tell you? We will spend our time outside the academy today.”
“You don't..” Leo sighed.
“Well now you know. Turned into something that wasn't your school uniform. I don't want people to recognize you,” he said later.
“Unfortunately, I don't have any casual clothes. Other than the school uniform and some sportswear I got for free, I had nothing left. Some steal— belongings of old Leo.”
Miss Camille sighed, “Alright, let's buy you some clothes. There is a shopping mall in the academy that we can visit.”
“Good.” Leo nodded.
There was also a shopping mall in his old world so he was quite familiar with it.
Moments later, they arrive at the mall, but unlike the one in Leo's memory.
“Come quickly shop. We don't have unlimited time because we actually have an appointment with someone. ”
“I understand. I'll go pick up something very quickly.”
“Wait. Do you even have money?” Miss Camille suddenly asked him.
Leo smiled and said in a proud voice, “Don't worry, I can pay for my own things.”
“Are you not ashamed to say that when it's not your money?” Lilith suddenly said.
“Aren't you very snarky today?” Leo muttered in a low voice.
“You remember that I can't leave the school building, right? That means I won't be able to be by your side!” He reminded.
“Oh, correct. But there's nothing I can do about that, and I can't refuse Miss Camille, so you have to wait until I get back.”
“You better tell me everything when you get back! Every last detail!” exclaim Lilith.
“If I remember it, of course.”
Moments later, Leo entered the nearest clothing store he could find and quickly picked up a plain black t-shirt as well as black sweatpants. After paying for it, she immediately changed her new clothes in the dressing room.
“Come go now.” Miss Camille said to him afterwards.
“How about my school uniform?”
“Cast it. Already shabby all, and uniform free,” he said casually.
“What? But that's the only thing I brought from my old world! There's no way I can throw it away!”
“How troublesome. Give them to me.” Miss Camille gestured to them.
Leo handed it to her the next moment, and she proceeded to throw it into her spatial storage.
“There. Let's go now or we'll be really late.”
Leo nodded and followed Miss Camille to the entrance of the school.
Although teachers are not required to go out every time they leave the school environment, Leo has to because he is still a student.
After everything is done, Miss Camille takes Leo to her private car.
“You have the same car as ‘kamu’ from my world.” Leo said to him as he leisurely sat beside the driver's seat in one smooth motion, almost as if he had done this many times before.
Miss Camille narrowed her eyes at Leo for a moment, but she did not say anything.
Once they were on the road, Leo asked, “So... Where are we going?”
“Adventurer Guild,” he replied calmly.
