Episode 3

                "Catherin...."

"Aiden..."

Both of them looked so shocked and equally wide.

After 5 years....

Their daydreams were piqued by the sound of a closed door. Aiden's a little thump.

"Please sit down" exclaimed Aiden, inviting the charming-looking Catherin in a violet knee-length dress.

Catherin complies and takes a seat right in the chair opposite Aiden.

"Emmm... What message would you like?" ask Aiden still feels so awkward.

"I ordered it to the waiter" exclaimed Catherin, refusing to look at Aiden.

"How are you?" ask Aiden.

"As you can see" replied Catherin. "How are you?"

"As you can see, too," replied Aiden.

Both are equally silent in awkwardness. Until a waiter comes in and saves Catherin's drink.

They were still silent in a position facing each other after the servant left. The atmosphere there felt so awkward and uncomfortable.

"So this is your case?" aiden looked at Catherin's bead. "Are you really not getting good treatment from your husband?"

Catherin just kept quiet.

"I was shocked when I saw you coming. I didn't expect us to meet again after 5 years in this state" exclaimed Aiden and Catherin still silently.

"When did you get married? Do you have children?" ask Aiden. "And since when did your husband do the KDRT to you?"

"Before I answer all your questions. You'd better read the name of the victim first" Catherin exclaimed, finally opening her voice after a long silence.

Aiden scrunched his forehead and reopened the file.

"Marenka?"

"Yes Marenka and not me" exclaimed Catherin. "I'm the one reporting the case, Marenka is my best friend."

"I thought you were.." Aiden's words hung in the air. "Alright forget that. Then where's Marenka?"

"Marenka is still undergoing treatment at the hospital. Because of her husband's treatment, her right leg is patas and her spine is cracked because it was beaten. I came here to give some information that I know and also the evidence, I am a witness from Marenka," exclaimed Catherin with her expressionless flat face.

"That's it, can you hand over the evidence you brought," cried Aiden.

Catherin handed it to Aiden.

Aiden began to check all the evidence by opening the laptop he was carrying and inserting a USB that Catherin brought into the laptop.

"About 3 years ago" replied Catherin.

"What are you doing? Are you married?" ask Aiden.

"Is the evidence clear?" catherin asked Aiden to turn his gaze from the laptop screen to Catherin's face.

"I'll check back at the office" exclaimed Aiden.

"I hope you can help win the case and punish the suspect with the appropriate punishment" Catherin said.

Aiden realized, Catherin is no longer the same as the Catherin he used to know. Now the figure of Catherin in front of him looks so cold and untouchable. Very strange in Aiden's eyes.

"I'll do it" cried Aiden.

"Then there's nothing more we need to talk about, if you want to meet Marenka, you can contact me. My number is in witness data" said Catherin, whom she refers to Aiden.

"Then I'm gone" cried Catherin rising from her seat.

"Cath.." The call stopped Catherin from leaving.

"I'm sorry, I wanted to say this a long time ago. I'm sorry Catherine..."

Catherine's expression turned grim and looked angry.

"Why should I apologize? There's nothing to forgive here" Catherin exclaimed in a cold tone.

"But I..."

"Forget it all, it was my biggest mistake" he replied and left Aiden, who could only be glued to his place.

Aiden has returned to his apartment. He kept his suit at the head of the sofa and he walked to the kitchen and picked up a cold drink. He opened the bottle cap and gulped it down, after which he returned pensive.

"Catherine.." he muttered. "I never thought I'd see you again."

Aiden sighed, in his heart there was still a sense of guilt for Catherine. Even though that night Catherine said she was fine and thought it had never happened, but Aiden really could not forget it.

Memories of that night filled Aiden's head again.

"After 5 years..." Aiden again let out a heavy breath.

Actually, he began to improve himself and start a new life. Finally after a long time, he was able to let go of Agneta even though it was very difficult and even almost made him killed because of the tightness in his chest.

But his encounter with Catherine today, seemed to remind him of the mistake in the past. That there was a woman he had hurt.
