For two months now Dara has been living at Kris' house, the man has never messed with her, nor has he tried to be unkind to her. It was all so nice that he himself was reluctant to leave the house. But this was not his residence and Kris was not his. Dara knows herself about it. He would behave like a servant when the Kris family came to visit the man.
Dara did not bother about it because in fact she just hitchhiked to live on Kris and she herself said that she wanted to stay in this penthouse as long as Kris would let her work in this house. Kris agreed on the condition that Dara would accept money from him as payment for the job.
"I woke up late earlier," said Kris, carrying a bag and tie in his hand.
He then placed it on the chair and took the coffee cup that Dara used to prepare at the kitchen bar table. Dara put a plate containing egg sandwich on the table.
He then took Kris's tie and saved it around the man's neck making Kris stop his activities and look towards Dara.
Dara began to conclude the tie without looking into Kris's eyes even though the man looked into his eyes.
"Already," said Dara pulling a forced-looking smile.
"What's wrong?" ask Kris. Something has changed from Dara. Usually every morning the woman is heard singing cheerfully in the corner of her kitchen. But deep in Dara's eyes she saw there was sadness there that made her heart ache.
"There's nothing" said Dara, pulling her hair back. Then the body turned to walk towards the kitchen. He seemed reluctant to look into Kris's eyes.
Kris then pulled one arm of Dara so that it approached her body and held one arm. Make the woman face him.
"What's wrong?" ask Kris.
"There's nothing" said Dara. Then he took a deep breath.
"Kris you said you'd be late for work 'cause then eat while the sandwich is still warm" said Dara.
Kris wet his dry lips while raising his head up.
Dara's silent attitude seemed to disturb her heart.
"If there is a problem just tell me," said Kris lowered his head.
"There's nothing really all right," said Dara, looking back at Kris.
Kris then released his grip on Dara's arm with a heavy heart. He pulled out a chair and started to sit down.
"Where's breakfast for you?" ask Kris.
"I've been drinking milk and my stomach still feels full" said Dara. Standing next to Chris.
"I'll eat myself" Kris said.
"Before you used to eat alone," said Dara.
Chris looked at her."What was? You're not usually like this. What are you hiding?"
"I told you the truth. Aren't you used to live alone? Later after I leave you also have to eat alone again" said Dara carefully.
Kris closed his eyes. Why did Dara's words about her disappearance not want her to hear? His heart is in pain.
He then put the knife and fork in his hand back to the table.
"Are you planning on leaving me?" ask Kris.
Dara laughed a little. He looked towards Chris.
"No, you can't get out of here" Kris said.
"Why?" ask Dara. "You're getting married in less than a month! And I'd better get out of here."
Kris' jaw tightened, she then lowered her face and took a deep breath.
"I'd better go to work, we'll talk about this later tonight" Kris got up and picked up her bag without looking at Dara.
"I've found a good place for me to stay and I'll move there as soon as possible" Dara said, holding back tears, making Kris' footsteps stop.
"Wait for me to come home and we'll talk about this all right." The man then left her alone without looking at Dara. Dara's body squeezed, she then leaned against the table and held her chest that felt tight after seeing Kris' departure.
"Don't cry Dara, you can. He's the moon you can't reach. You should know yourself," he muttered to himself as he wiped his tears.
Dara then walked towards her room. His steps came to a halt when he saw the lounge in front of the television. Every night Kris would hold a laptop to finish her work and she would watch her favorite drama show. Sometimes they joke and laugh together. The figure of Kris who is thin and serious sometimes smeared with jokes Dara.
Dara sometimes leaned on Kris' shoulder when she saw the sad drama scene.
Back flash.
"Why are you crying over that unreal story?" kris asked when she first saw Dara crying watching a television series.
"Can't you feel his sadness when the man leaves the woman. Though they love each other but hindered by the blessing of parents," said Dara while wiping her tears.
"Those who think love is everything when there are other things that can be done to forget that love. For example, have another lover," replied Kris. Dara then pinched Kris' hard arm.
"Indeed you!" said Dara.
"I've been in love and I've felt a sense of loss but I can handle it by having another lover" Kris replied casually.
"That's not true love. If true love wants to always have, even if it is separated, no one can replace it" said Dara. He pointed to Chris's day. "Here's just his name and it's irreplaceable, you know why?" ask Dara.
Kris shook his head looking at Dara.
"Because your partner is a part of you, he is your rib, so you will feel lost when he leaves" replied Dara.
Kris looked at Dara. The woman looked back at the television screen.
"Because I want to kiss your lips?" ask Kris.
Dara then hit the pillow against her arm hard.
"You just ask for that kiss to your future wife Seila, don't ask me" she said, shaking her head.
"I'm going to sleep afraid you're going to be a hungry tiger and will eat you" said Dara.
Flash back off
All these houses he'll leave tomorrow. He could not stay with Kris. Kris' grandfather came to him yesterday and offered Dara some money to leave Kris, thinking Dara was Kris' mistress.
Dara refused and said she would leave the house. He also said he was just a waiter in charge of cleaning this house and preparing for Kris's needs. But the man did not believe, he said Dara was nothing more than an ******. If he is a servant, he must leave the house within three days. If not, then Kris fate will be on the edge of the horn. He will not be recognized as a descendant of the Danuraja family.
Dara doesn't know what Kris's family background is but she doesn't want to be Kris's hindrance to achieving her happiness.
