Preparation Back to Work

The sound of birds chirping sounding loud to each other and muttering roused me from my deep sleep. Slowly opened eyes tried to digest my surroundings. I faintly saw the clock stuck to the wall that was ticking. I focused on looking at the clockwork and realized that I had missed a lot of time.

I looked beside me, there was no Gafi there. From inside the bathroom, there was no sound of water. He woke up without disturbing my sleep.

I rushed down from my bed. Then clean yourself up. It's my first day back at work, at least I can't be late to get there.

“ You're up.” The baritone voice surprised me. Gafi was standing by the door looking at me.“ Why are you surprised like that?”

“ Of course I'm surprised. You suddenly entered without me noticing,” I replied while tidying up my hair. “ I need to get down immediately to help others make breakfast.” I put the comb on the dressing table and then passed leaving Gafi in the room.

In the kitchen looks aunt Liz, mother Gafi and bi Ama is busy preparing breakfast. With a hasty step I approached them.

“ Sorry...,” I said that made them take their eyes off. “ Can anyone Yuna help?”

Aunt Liz smiled at me.

“ New bride why to the kitchen. You should be with Gafi, baby”

“ But Aunt..”.

“ Has woken up a lot of behavior again,” chirped Gafi's mother.

I knew my in-laws didn't like me, so whatever he said I could just shut up and tell him. Whatever I do, it won't make her happy with me.

I was silent for a moment. Actually, I was a little afraid that my father-in-law would reject my coffee.

“ Alright Aunt.” I took the tray containing the coffee from Aunt Liz's hand. Slowly my feet stepped one by one toward the father-in-law who was in the backyard. He was reading a newspaper quietly.

“ Pa...” I did not continue my remarks. The choice of the word papa for the word greeting to my father-in-law scares me a little, afraid that he does not like my words. “ Om, here's the coffee,” I said put the coffee on the table. “ This coffee is made by Aunt Liz.” I explained who this coffee maker was so he wouldn't hesitate to drink it. “ Then Yuna excuse me.”

It feels awkward that's what I feel. Without expression that's the answer I received. I didn't expect more after what I did to this family.

“ Aren't you the daughter-in-law of this family? why do you still call it Om,” he said which of course shocked me. Feels nice to hear although not clearly, but of course makes me feel a little accepted.

“ Next time make Papa your cup of coffee.”

I put on a smile. “ Yes Pa, next time will Yuna make it for Papa.”

How nice to hear him ask me to make him a cup of coffee. I remember my dad there for a moment. I got a second father figure here. I won't let her down.

After preparing my needs there, I immediately went down to Gafi who was waiting for me. With a quick step, I came to this family to say goodbye. Don't forget Aunt Liz gave me a bag full of food.

In the car Gafi waiting while listening to the music that melodious. I gave him the food that Aunt Liz gave him. He was a little surprised by my gift.

“ What are you talking about,” I said a little misbehaved.

“ Alright we leave.” The car drove away from Aunt Liz's residence. The condition of the streets that are not so crowded expedited our trip this time.

“ If you don't want to tell me it's okay,” I said then took a bottle of mineral water. I opened the bottle and slowly sipped it.

Almost the water in my mouth I let out because of his words. I looked at him, he looked back at me. Auntie just said that to me.

“ Why? isn't that the most powerful reason, ha?”

“ Really very powerful once,” reply me. “ I didn't expect you to be even better than the director in this world. Creating a supernatural drama maybe even I just do not understand the plot you make this.”

Gafi smiled.

“ You must get into this drama even in unexpected situations. Isn't that your job too.”
