JOHN THE MERCENARY

JOHN THE MERCENARY
CHAPTER 025 - PTSD.

“What? A bodyguard?” asked John in surprise.

“Yes. Bodyguards. Didn't you used to be like that, while you were still in North Africa?”

“You were very lucky then, being offered a job with benefits when many were unemployed.”

“You are paid based on skill, so you will make a lot of money.”

Sam continues to persuade John to become a bodyguard who might help John live a quieter life.

“Lieutenant! You know what, I'm not gonna promise to be loyal to anyone anymore? In any country or organization it.”

John stopped his steps and stretched the muscles in his body slowly and enjoyed the view of the hospital garden which was quite beautiful.

Likewise with the guards who were watching John and Sam, they saw him from a considerable distance and could not possibly hear the conversation between John and Sam.

“Fallegiance? Whatisit? Loyalty is for dogs, John. I'm not loyal to anyone either. I did this all just for the sake of.”

“How much money did you get for this job, sir? We both know, experienced people like us will be used, then thrown away.”

“Hahaha. Therefore, we must discard them first.”

“Yes. Turns out you've changed, Lieutenant.”

John looked at Sam standing next to him.

“Not me changed, John, but the world has changed.”

Sam also looked at John.

“PASGA that I'm dealing with is not a regular security company, even though their team is not comparable to your ability.”

“If in military field, we are intelligence. Inside, we have the deepest and darkest confidential access IP Group.”

“Outside, we collect and monitor political, financial and media related data networks in the city, even in this country.”

“The people behind it are among the top, they are not ordinary people, John.”

“They will win the mayor's seat, even the presidency. If that happens, you can be forgiven for what you did to the Deny family and Agnes.”

John breathed a long sigh and,

“Lieutenant. You know, if I'm tired of running away. And now I'm useless. I'm not my old self anymore.”

When John was leaving Sam,

“Why? Is it because you can't kill anyone anymore? The nickname ‘Killing Machine’ remains attached to you, even if you can't kill someone else, John.”

John stopped his steps, when he heard Sam who already knew, without John telling him.

“PTSD. I got your diagnosis from the UFC this morning.”

PTSD is a post-traumatic stress disorder experienced by John.

John was even more surprised when he heard Sam who also knew about it.

“You don't have to worry, John. I directly tore it off after I finished reading.”

Sam continues to try to convince John that he wants to be the bodyguard of the Deny family, and help his life, to be more organized.

“After seeing the troops sent by Marco, the manager of PASGA, still alive while trying to catch you, I feel something is strange to you.”

“Then, you killed and did not hesitate to kill anyone who came to disturb your life, but now you have changed a lot.”

“If you know that, why do you want me to work for you and the family you protect, Lieutenant?”
