Chapter 3 The Umbrella of Love

A beautiful girl looked at the rain that was falling rapidly from the car that was already in the parking lot in front of her office.

"Ck! Tumben once in the morning it was raining like this. Where I don't have an umbrella anymore. I took out my umbrella yesterday, so I forgot I haven't entered yet" the girl grumbled with her breath.

The girl looked at herself and sighed again. He ruffled his hair and said,

"How's this? I was wearing a uniform, and I forgot to bring a change of clothes. It must be wet, right, hit by that raining water?"

Suddenly a phone call came from the girl's phone. The girl immediately grabbed her phone from her bag and pointed the phone screen at her when she saw her name on the screen making a video call.

"Mama..your son is in trouble," said the girl, showing her puppy eyes.

Mama had guessed. You may not have an umbrella and a change of clothes. Don't you? ask the Mama who looks a little upset on the girl's phone screen.

The girl nodded her head while showing her sad face and said,

"How should Adelia?"

How else? You should call your friend who has come and ask for help to give you an umbrella. Hurry Lia, soon you will be late to work, said the mother from across there who looks busy cutting vegetables in the kitchen.

"Alright Ma," said Adelia Lirih accompanied by a sigh.

After that Adelia pressed the red button for them to end the video phone call. He stared at the large building in front of him while contacting someone using his cell phone.

However, from the few numbers he had contacted, none of them had received a phone call from him, so all of those calls just ended up being missed calls.

"Here you go, I better run in. At the most is all wet, too" said Adelia accompanied by her breath.

He had his bag in his side chair. After that he opened the door of his car and prepared to run through the torrent of rain to his office which was not far from his current place.

Adelia's eyes widened as she got out of the car, there was an umbrella protecting her from the torrent of rain. Adelia turned towards the person who was paddling her. He saw a handsome man, wearing a security uniform bearing his name, Arion, smiling at him.

"Please Ma'am, I'll take you inside. Careful Ma'am. Somewhat here, so as not to get wet," said Arion while covering himself and Adelia in one umbrella.

Adelia is closer to Arion. Now they walk a little distance. Feeling her shoulders slightly exposed to rainwater, Adelia moved more medium, so her hands clung to Arion's hands.

They both look wrong in the rain as if to witness them both.

"Thank you, later I will definitely repay your kindness," Adelia said when they were in front of the office of the private bank that became their workplace.

"No need Ma'am, it's my job to help employees who need help" Arion said, smiling at Adelio.

Adelia smiled seeing the sincerity of Arion's heart that was clearly visible in her eyes. Then he said,

"I don't like being indebted to others."

At once Arion was flabbergasted to hear Adelia's words. He never met a woman like her. He smiled and said, too,

"In that case, Ms. Adelia can buy me lunch."

"Do you know my name?" adelia asked as she scrunched her forehead.

"That's Ma'am, I'm sorry I was so sassy to see it," replied Arion as he pointed to the name tag that Adelia had set up since leaving home, as is her custom every day.

Adelia chuckled at the name tag hers had designated by Arion. Then he said,

"All right, I'll treat you to lunch. I'll go in first. Thank you Arion."

Arion's smile never faded. He was so happy this morning. The woman who had always been an encouragement in the morning just by looking at her smile, was now visibly closer to her.

Inside her office room, Adelia was involuntarily always smiling. Somehow the smile from Arion always flashed in his eyes. Until his work was a little interrupted because he remembered the promise of lunch with Arion.

Every few minutes Adelia looked at the clock in her left hand. He sighed when he found that lunch was still a few hours away.

A few seconds later, he stopped his job. He smiled and shook his head as he said,

"Lia... Lia... Why are you being like this? Just as a sign of gratitude, why did you go overboard like this? So strange, why am I so looking forward to this lunch?"

Suddenly a message notification sounds on Adelia's phone. He was out of his mind. The cell phone is immediately on his desk. She smiled at the message sent by her mother.

His mother was very worried about him. Ayana asked about her condition, which her mother believed, Adelia ran into her office by crashing in the rain. Because his mother knew very well if his favorite daughter did not want to trouble others.

Adelia immediately replied to her mother's message. Indeed, every hour of work, his mother never made a phone call to him, his mother only sent a message if at work because she did not want to interfere with her daughter's work.

Seconds after Adelia replies to her mother's message, she gets a message back from her mother.

Apparently her mother wanted to know about the person who loved her daughter. Adelia smiled and replied back to her mother's message.

The seconds, minutes and hours passed unknowingly after Adelia had been too focused on her work. Suddenly, he gets a message from someone he doesn't know.

I'm sorry Adelia, I'm Arion. It seems that this afternoon I cannot receive a reply to a thank you from Ms. Adelia. Maybe next time. Or if Ms. Adelia doesn't mind, later after work we just eat together.

"What'sthis? Did he ask me out for dinner? How did he get my HP number?" chirp Adelia while staring at the screen of her phone.

Suddenly the door of Adelia's room opened, she turned to the door to find out who opened the door.

Enter a woman who is not familiar to him is smiling at him while walking in to him.

"Lunch yuk Lia... Do not keep working, you will get rich quickly. Pity me who is not this diligent," whining women who wear the same uniform with Adelia and tagged Mia.

Adelia chuckled at the whimpering of her best friend. Mia, Adelia's best friend since college. They passed the selection together when applying for a job at the private bank.

Adelia picked up her wallet and cell phone, then she grabbed her best friend's shoulder and said,

"Where do you eat my best friend? This rich friend of yours will treat you."

Moments later Mia's eyes sparkled. Then he let go of Adelia's hand which was on her shoulder and pulled out Adelia's hand to immediately walk out of the office saying,

"I'll show you where to eat I want to go this afternoon."

Adelia only chuckled while walking with her hand still being pulled by Mia. In front of her office, Adelia briefly looks into the eyes with Arion smiling and nodding respectfully at her.

Mia follows Adelia's line of sight. He scrunched his forehead when he saw a security bank they were working for was smiling at Adelia. Then he said,

"Lia, do you know a security who seems to be smiling at you?"

Adelia gasped. She only realized that beside her was Mia who was ready to interview her if she found out what was going on between her and Arion. He immediately makes sense so that Mia, his best friend who was the kepo no longer asked about it.

Suddenly, Adelia's head was drawn to ask Mia something.

"Mia, why didn't you pick up my phone this morning?" adelia asked while looking intently at Mia, thus making Mia grimace in fear.
