Since childhood Prophet Sulaiman has shown a higher intelligence when compared with children his age. Even at a young age, Prophet Sulaiman often handled and solved various problems that occurred among the citizens of Israel.
This happened when Prophet Sulaiman invited his father, Prophet David to an assembly to deal with various kinds of disputes. Of course, his father's invitation is not without reason, because Prophet Sulayman is known to have intelligence and wisdom in determining a decision.
So it is not surprising that finally Prophet Sulaiman replaced his father to lead the Children of Israel. Not only that, he was also given a miracle by Allah SWT extraordinary.
The story of Prophet Solomon and Queen Balqis is told in full in the Quran. In the Quran it is said that Prophet Sulayman sent a letter to Queen Balqis to come to see him. The letter also contains a hymn from Prophet Sulaiman so that Queen Balqis and her dignitaries do not be arrogant towards him.
Prophet Sulaiman ordered the bird Hud-Hud to deliver his letter to Queen Balqis. It is listed in one of the Surahs of the Quran, which means:
“Go with (bring) this letter of mine, then drop it to them, then turn away from them, then notice what they are talking about“ (QS. My name is: 28).
After that, the letter came to Queen Balqis and she read it. The following is the contents of Prophet Sulaiman's letter to Queen Balqis.
“By the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, this letter is from me, Solomon. Do not be arrogant towards me and consider yourself superior to me. Come to me surrender.”
Queen Balqis told her princes that she had received a letter from the Prophet Solomon. As mentioned in the Quran Surat An Naml verse 29 below.
“Saying it (Balqis): “Hai magnifiers, have actually dropped to me a glorious letter.“ (QS. My name is: 29)
“Verily the letter is from Solomon and indeed it is) the content of the Surah, (‘By mentioning the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Merciful).” (QS. And Naml: 30).
After that Queen Balqis asked for advice to her dignitaries, implied that the dignitaries of Queen Balqis suggested taking up arms and meeting the Prophet Solomon. As in one of the following Surahs of the Quran.
“Depart queen Balqis with twelve thousand troops; in the opinion of others it is mentioned that the number of soldiers she was carrying at that time was very large, so that from a distance of one farsakh can be heard her roar.” (QS. And Naml: 37).
Prophet Sulaiman also ordered Jin Ifrit to move or bring Queen Balqis palace with a distance of time between Prophet Sulaiman sitting up to stand from his throne. Jin Ifrit agreed to Prophet Sulaiman's request to bring Queen Balqis' palace.
“(Ifrit of the genies says,) The strongest and most powerful genie (“I will come to you with that throne before you stand from your seat) from the assembly where he conducts justice among the people, that is from morning until noon (and I am really strong) to bring it (again trustworthy.”) over all the other precious gems and stones that are on the throne. So Prophet Sulaiman said, “I want faster than that”.” (QS. And Naml: 39).
When Queen Balqis and her army arrived at the place of Prophet Sulaiman. He was surprised because the palace in front of him is very similar to his palace in the country of Saba’.
Then this event made Queen Balqis amazed and aware of her weakness. Queen Balqis then apologized for the error so far. Since the conversion of Queen Balqis, it is known that the queen of the land of Saba’ was then married by Prophet Sulaiman A.S.
“And gathered for Sulaiman his army from jinn, men and birds and they were arranged in an orderly manner (in line).” (With Name: 17).
So it is not surprising that at that time the Prophet Solomon built buildings not using human energy, but built by the jinn. As mentioned in one of the following Quranic suras.
“And We have submitted (also to Solomon) a group of demons who dive (into the sea) for him and do other work than that, and We keep them,” (Al Anbiya: 81).
In addition, Prophet Sulayman in another Surah of the Quran also explained that he had a miracle that can control the wind.
”And (we have submitted) to Sulaiman a very strong wind blowing with his orders to the land we have blessed him. And We are All-Knowing. ” (Al-Anbiya: 81).
Queen Balqis then told her dignitaries that she had received a letter from the Prophet Solomon. As mentioned in the Quran Surat An Naml verse 29 follows:
