Prophet Zulkifli was the son of Prophet Ayyub, the original name of Prophet Zulkifli was Bashar. He lived in the land of Sham, ruled by an old king who had no children.

He was called Zulkifli when one day the king was looking for his successor. He promised to hand over power to anyone who would be responsible for carrying out the trust of the people and those who fear Allah SWT.

In the presence of all his people, the king said, "Who among you is able to fast during the day and worship at night, nor will you be angry, I will give him this kingdom. Because I am very old" said the king to his people.

Then there stood a young man named Bashar, raising his right hand and saying, "Hamba is able!" the Prophet Zulkifli. Again and again the king asked his people, but no one answered but the young man.

Bashar succeeded the king, and his name was changed to Zulkifli which means, "one who can keep a promise".

"And (remember the story) Ismail, Idris and Zulkifli. All of them include patient people. We have put them into Our mercy. Verily they are among the righteous". (QS Al-Anbya verses 85-86).

Prophet Zulkifli led the country of Sham well, he was very concerned with the affairs of his people rather than the affairs of himself and his family. He kept his promise to fast during the day and worship at night, and was always patient under no circumstances to ever get angry.

The patience possessed by the Prophet Zulkifli As has been set as an example by all Muslims both during worship and when communicating with others. Since being appointed as a successor king, Prophet Zulkifli As has lived in simplicity. This was in accordance with his promise, he also carried out fasting during the day and worship at night in an istiqomah manner.

One day the Prophet Zulkifli As felt a great fatigue. After taking care of his people he did not immediately rest. You could say his sleep time is used for worship.

After becoming the king of the Prophet Zulkifli As did not escape the various trials including the trials that came from his own people. There were some people who came to the kingdom and planned to destroy the leadership of Prophet Zulkifli As.

At that time, the Prophet Zulkifli ordered his people to fight against the rebel forces. But the people who have been prosperous actually refuse on the grounds of fear of death.

It was at this time that the devil sent his group of demons to tempt. Satan came to the palace in the form of a common man who asked the king for justice.

Although the royal guards that the king is resting, but the devil does not care and continues to insist on wanting to meet the king. Knowing this, the Prophet Zulkifli As asked his guests to first come to the courtroom of the palace.

After resting for a while, Prophet Zulkifli As went to the courtroom even though when he got there it turned out his guest was not there. And when the wait does not come. This happened again the next day. And the Prophet Zulkifli As remained unmoved by his anger.

For the third time the devil took the initiative directly into the house of Prophet Zulkifli As and knocked on the door of the room where Prophet Zulkifli As rested.

But just like that the Prophet Zulkifli As accompanied him until finally the devil gave up and claimed he was sent by the devil to tempt and provoke the emotions of Prophet Zulkifli As. Failing was Satan's plan to make Prophet Zulkifli As angry and disavow his promise.

They want to join the war on the condition that there is a guarantee that they will not die on the battlefield. Finally the Prophet Zulkifli As prayed to Allah SWT to ask that his people be saved during the war.

The prayer was then granted by Allah SWT so that the entire army of Prophet Zulkifli As consisting of commoners managed to win the battle and returned safely without anyone being killed.

Until the end of the leadership of the Prophet Zulkifli As the people felt a peaceful and prosperous life. The relics of Prophet Zulkifli As can still be seen throughout the small town called kilf sided bagda.

Between the cities of Hilah and Nahzab on the bank of the river Ephrat, there is a tomb. The tomb is believed by the surrounding residents as the tomb of Prophet Zulkifli As. 

Nabi ZulkifliAS was born to a family of prophets, namely his father named Prophet Job and his mother named Rahmah. In his life, the US Prophet Zulkifli grew up in a very wise royal environment. Ever since he was a child, he never lied. Many people know him as someone who applies well to anyone. This is what makes his attitude and stance not easily waver.

O, may I appoint a man to lead men in my lifetime so that I may see his conduct" said the king.

He finally issued his wish, "Who is able to inflate three tasks from me, namely being able to fast during the day, pray at night, and resist emotions. I will take him as leader."

None of his people answered. Until finally, there was a young man named Bashar raised his hand. "I" said the man. Without thinking, the king appointed him as his successor. Since then he has been called Zulkifli which means "able."

The US prophet Zulkifli was king at that time. The king who never neglects to carry out his duties. To meet the needs of all people fairly without any problems.

Sometimes life does not always go as you wish. Once there was a rebellion of those who disobeyed Allah SWT. The US prophet Zulkifli asked his soldiers and people to come to the battlefield. However, not a single citizen dared to. They're afraid of death. So they asked the Prophet Zulkifli AS to pray to Allah SWT to guarantee their lives.

Without thinking twice, Prophet Zulkifli AS prayed to Allah SWT which was immediately answered by Him. "I have known your request, and I have heard your prayer. I'll all give you."

Victory was achieved without one of those who died in battle with the permission of Allah SWT.

Until one day, the devil came to deceive the US Prophet Zulkifli to fail in carrying out his duties.

The devil turned out to have such a cunning trick. He transformed into an old man and knocked on the door of the house of Prophet Zulkifli US to shake his patience.

"Who are you" Prophet Zulkifli told the US undercover demon.

"The servant of the traveler, all the belongings of the servant are robbed of people" the demon replied.

With pity, the US Prophet Zulkifli asked the disguised demon to come tomorrow to his kingdom. But what was awaited never came. Though the US Prophet Zulkifli had taken the time to help the undercover demon.

When the US prophet Zulkifli felt a sense of drowsiness that could not be held, he asked his family for anyone not to meet him at the break of the day. Again and again, demons came to harass the US Prophet Zulkifli. The demon again incarnated into an old man, came and knocked on the house of the US Prophet Zulkifli. However, his family banned him due to a request from the US Prophet Zulkifli himself.

Not accepting the rejection, the disguised demon entered through a hole in the wall of the house. He woke up the sleeping US prophet Zulkifli.

"Look where I came from" said the disguised demon. Realizing that the door was locked, but the old man was able to enter, Zulkifli cried out, "You are the enemy of Allah!"

The demon replied, "really, you have made me desperate to seduce you. Then I'll do what you saw yourself to make you angry."

Without the slightest annoyance, it turns out that the US Prophet Zulkifli was not angry He remained patient to be disturbed because it had not rested for several days.

Allah SWT in QS. Shad verse 48 means:

“And remember Ismail, Ilyasa' and Zulkifli. All of them include the best people.
