Prophet Abraham as is the 6th prophet in the history of the apostle of Allah that must be known to Muslims. By genealogy, the Prophet Ibrahim was Ibrahim ibn Azzar ibn Tahur ibn Sarush ibn Ra’uf ibn Falish bin Tabir bin Shaleh ibn Arfakhsad ibn Sham ibn Noah.
As a noble man, the task of Prophet Abraham is very heavy. For he must be born in the midst of the pagan and idolatrous society. Abraham was born in 2295 BC in the land of Mausul.
Unfortunately, the father of Prophet Abraham as is an idol maker who also believes that the statues are human intermediaries to the Khalik. In addition, the Jahiliyah in the days of Prophet Abraham had a ruler named King Namrud who arrogantly claimed that he was the God of the Universe. Surprisingly, many believed in his confession.
As a child, Abraham was exiled to the forest, in a cave that no one would find. This was done in the form of rescue because in that time King Namrud issued a rule to kill every baby boy born.
Namrud did so because he did not want to be replaced by anyone on this earth as a ruler. Therefore, Abraham's parents exiled him to a forest. Allah has shown his power by making Abraham grow as a strong man to survive all kinds of dangers in the forest.
Until finally he returned to the middle of society and saw all the crazy people on the statue. Almost every house and public places are filled with idols in order to worship at all times. Including in the house of his father who did work as an idol maker.
Abraham began to wonder at himself. Where is God? Where is God called? Then Allah also gave a miracle to Prophet Ibrahim, which was an intelligent, critical thought, and sent him as a provider of the existence of Allah SWT so far. As well as inviting everyone to always fear Allah SWT and leave idols that are not important.
Many times with his intelligent thought, Prophet Ibrahim asked who was Tuahan? Is it really true that it is God? Or is the reigning King Namrud God?
Then he looked at the moon and the stars at night, the sun by day, he said "Could those things be God?"
But the moon and the stars disappeared and the sun went down, and he said, "I will not be a god to such things."
From then on he believed that idols were not the God of the universe. Allah then whispered a command to Prophet Abraham to invite people to worship Allah SWT, no longer idols. The universe and all its contents and the laws that apply in it, are strong enough to be a proof of the oneness of God and the immorality of the deeds of the polytheists.
Prophet Abraham as inclined to the religion of monotheism and declared that other religions are void, and he is not among the people who are idolaters. He was a man who surrendered to Allah SWT only.Paham that idols are not God, Prophet Ibrahim with his ingenuity immediately planned something on King Namrud and his followers.
Abraham left only one idol that he did not destroy. It is the biggest idol. Then he placed the axe used to smash the other statues in the lap of the only idol he had not broken.
After a few days King Namrud knew all his idols were broken and wrathful. "Who did all this behind my back?!" he shouted at his followers. One of his followers who happened to not go with Namrud said that there was a young man named Ibrahim who did it all. Prophet Abraham was called to King Namrud.
The king said furiously: "O Abraham, have you not destroyed these idols?"
"No!" abraham answered briefly. Hearing the reply, King Namrud grew furious and said: "Then who else if not you, weren't you here when we left and didn't you hate these idols?"
"Yes, but I didn't destroy those idols. I thought it was that great idol that destroyed it, wasn't the ax still around his neck?" abraham calmly.
King Namrud denied this: "There may be an idol that can do such a thing!". The Prophet Abraham said: "Then why do you worship an idol that can do nothing?"
Hearing Abraham's statement, his followers realized and it occurred to them that God who had been worshipped could not see, hear, and move. However, King Namrud was growing angry.
Outraged and upset by King Namrud, he finally ordered his soldiers to punish Prophet Ibrahim severely. Abraham was put to death by being burned alive.
The fire was ignited with wood as fuel, while the Prophet was tied up and placed in the middle of a pile of wood. But God is more powerful in all things. Allah did not want Abraham to die and be defeated by King Namrud.
Witnessing the arson process, King Namrud and his followers laughed with satisfaction. They thought Abraham had been reduced to ashes with the fire. However, to their surprise after the great burning fire was extinguished, the Prophet suddenly walked out of the burning rubble safely without the slightest injury.
From then on, the followers of Namrud turned and became the people of Prophet Abraham to continue straight to the path of Allah SWT.
