Islam is Beautiful
chapter twenty: prophet hud

The Prophet Hud 'alaihis salam (AS) is mentioned in the Qur'an 7 times. Prophet Hud was an apostle of the Arabs who lived after the great flood in the days of Noah 'alaihis salam.

Sheikh Ahmad Al-Mishri (Ulama of Egyptian origin) in a routine study in Srengseng, West Jakarta, said that his nasab was connected to the Prophet Noah, hud bin Abdullah bin Ribah bin Khulud bin Ad bin Aus bin Irim bin Sham bin Noah 'alaihis salam.

Nabi Hud was born after the death of Noah 300 years. Allah sent the Prophet Hud to the first generation who lived in Yemen, namely the 'Aad. They were Arabs living in a magnificent palace. They were the ones who worshipped idols after the time of Noah.

So all the Prophets from Noah to Prophet Muhammad shallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam (SAW) tawhidnya is Islam. But the shari'at is different.

The 'Aad are known as the people who are able to build extraordinary buildings that have never been built in another country. Their ability to carve hills and build high buildings makes them forget the favor of Allah.

Prophet Hud invites his people to leave idols. However, they deny the favor. Worse, they denounced the Prophet Hud for not benefiting. He was also mocked until Allah was angry with the people of 'Aad.

Allah Ta'ala punished them by blocking the rain for 3 years. So they disbelieved and did not want to worship God. Then God sent the wind for 7 days and 8 nights and destroyed them,

the prophet Hud AS is the fourth prophet and apostle to be believed. The story of the Prophet Hud is found in the Quran. Hud's name is even enshrined in a letter, namely Hud's letter, letter 11.

Hud was sent to warn his people, the people of Aad. The Aad are descendants of the Prophet Noah who lived in Al-Ahqaf, a region on the Arabian sandy hills, in accordance with QS Al-Ahqaf.

The Aad tribe is one of the oldest tribes in the world with an advanced civilization. In the QS Al-Fajr mentioned, the Aad have tall buildings. Allah also exalted strength and wealth to the people of Aad.

However, the wealth given to the Aad made them greedy, self-forgotten, and far from Allah SWT. They began to worship idols named Shamud, Shada, and Al-Haba. Even the maksiat is rampant. God sent Hud to correct the conduct and conduct of the Aad.

"And remember [Hud] the brother of the 'Aad when he warned his people in Al-Ahqaf and indeed some of the forewarners and afterwards (by saying): "Do not worship besides Allah, I fear that you will be struck by a great punishment" says QS Al-Ahqaf verse 21.

After being made a prophet and an apostle, Hud began to warn the people of Aad. Hud called upon his people to worship God by showing the proofs of God's oneness

Instead of believing in Hud, the Aads throw scorn and call Hud 'crazy'.

Patiently, Hud faced all the abuse given to her. Hud remained undaunted to proclaim the religion of Allah and declared that the punishment would soon come for the disbelievers. Instead of according, the Aad actually back to challenge Hud to immediately show the punishment.

The pride of the Aad made God show his power by bringing down the torment in a number of stages.

"The first stage of Allah SWT's retribution to the Aad is the disaster of drought that hit their fields and gardens," quoted from the Prophet Hud AS The Attacker for the Aad by Testriono and Tim Divaro.

The drought left the Aads out of food. They are hungry too.

To the people of Aad, Hud pointed out that drought is the torment of Allah. However, the Aads still did not believe in Hud's admonition and continued to worship idols.

However, the cloud was not a rain-marking cloud, but a cloud accompanied by catastrophic strong winds.

"When they saw the chastisement as a cloud going into their valleys, they said, 'This is the cloud that will rain on us.' [No!] But that is the torment which you ask for a hastening coming (i.e.) wind that contains a painful torment" the following translation of QS Al-Ahqaf verse 24 reads.

In the letter of Al-Haqqah it is mentioned that the Aadites were overwritten by a cold and strong aingin that revolved around destroying for eight days and seven nights.

The wind destroyed and destroyed the people of Aad on earth. The bodies of the Aad are scattered in the sand.

"So that they [the 'Aad] will no longer be visible [on earth] except for only [the former] where they live. Thus do We recompense the sinners, "with the translation of QS Al-Ahqaf verse 25.

There is nothing left of this great calamity but the Prophet Hud AS and the faithful who took refuge in a valley. After the people of Aad perished, the Prophet Hud and the Mukmin migrated to Hadramaut to start a new life.

The story of the Prophet Hud and the Aad provides many wisdom and lessons that are still relevant today.

First, the wealth and strength of the Aad are the care of Allah SWT which should not be boasted.

Second, God's promise of His punishment is real. Allah shows his power by lowering the crushing strong winds.

Third, the patience and perseverance of the Prophet Hud called the religion of God worthy of imitation to this day.

The Prophet Hud is one of the Prophets who can set a good example for all of us. As for some of the properties that it has, namely the nature of patience, steadfast and always smeared the chest. This trait was shown by him when he faced his arrogant and stubborn people.

Hud reminds them of the blessings God has bestowed on them, such as cattle, descendants, gardens, and springs. However, many of the Ad members did not follow Hud's call.

The tomb of the prophet sent by Allah SWT, to the people of 'Ad is located in Shi'ib Hud, one of the small valleys in Hadhramaut, Yemen, precisely located 80 km from Tarim city –city I am currently domiciled.

The Qur'an explains that the Thamudtinggal people lived in a place called Al-Hijr. ... In terms of religion, the Thamud worshiped other than Allah and it has become a hereditary tradition. The apostle who was sent to preach to the people of Thamud was Shaleh who was also their own brother.

The tribe of 'Aad is the oldest tribe after Noah. This tribe of 'Aad does not know Allah SWT the Creator of the universe. They made statues that were named Shamud and Alhattar and worshipped as their God.

Noah as is believed to be the prophet who was born after Adam as. ... As a prophet, he is certainly a godly figure, obedient to worship and obedience to Allah SWT. Even so, among all these noble qualities, what stood out from Noah as was HIS PATIENCE and FORTITUDE.

MIRACLES OF PROPHET HUD. With God's permission, Hud can bring a powerful hurricane for 7 nights and 8 days. The second miracle was with the storm but the prophet Hud survived. Another miracle is that the prophet was born in a prosperous country with a long life, which is 130 years.
