If You Love

If You Love
Eps. 9. Sweet Duet with Oma

From the large window in his bedroom, Brill's eyes caught a figure he recognized as his classmate. The marks on the girl's lips as well as the moment of the Anglo-Japanese exam made her remember the girl.

Brill noticed how the girl treated an oma in a wheelchair...

Is it because taking care of the oma that he didn't go to school?

Brill remembered the moment when he came home from school, whether on what impulse he was chasing the girl and they walked together, the first time he started greeting people. Brill lowered his head with one corner of his lips slightly raised, while shaking his mind about the girl.

Why think of that girl, strange.

But subconsciously Brill again raised his face observing Rilly. This is not his actual habits or character, he is a person who is indifferent to his surroundings, no matter the circumstances of others, no matter the emotions of others.

Everyday Brill rarely or never interacts with people other than close people, reluctant to get to know others. His trust in others was too low. In his heart was always cynical about the intention of people approaching him, because he was the son of officials, the only son of his parents who had no small amount of property, he said, and he also realized that he inherited a superior gene about his physical beauty combined with the beauty and good looks of his parents.

His life should be perfect. But. his life was too quiet, somber, full of disappointment and bitterness. If it wasn't for the oma and om Markus and his wife, it would be like if he lived his life.

Brill tends to be apathetic. Prefer to be alone and not care about many things. Disappointment for the sake of disappointment as well as a deteriorating relationship with the parents of a figure who should be close to him may be the reason for his attitude.

And something outside of his habit while it goes on... Brill was observing someone.

Brill's observations became more interesting when two women, like mother and son, approached the oma in a wheelchair. Seen his Anglo-Japanese friend step away a few steps, the two women tried to interact but the oma looks not pushy. A few meters away even though he could not hear the contents of their conversation but he could tell the oma was not as happy as when with the girl with the split lips.

Oma Susan came in, followed by one of the ART who carried a tray filled with food. In oma's hand was a bowl filled with fruit syrup.

"Brill. We brought you breakfast, you must be lazy out of the room, our house is full of people..."

"Oma there's an event what the hell..why not a lot of people?"

"This is not an oma event.. this is a government program. Lansia Day event, oma one of the sub-district level administrators, they asked for permission to make an event here because our page is wide..."

Oma explained at length, then continued when she saw Brill's curious face...

"The way until the afternoon may be, depending on the oma-opa out there strong survive until what time, but after lunch they will be able to go home... who still want to wait until coffee time is also okay, all day they can have fun here... There's a music rental too because many oma-opas like to sing the same dance..."

Brill glanced at the food placed on a table near where it stood.

"The official event is over, your mother just finished giving her welcome and opened activities throughout the day. This is while the health service, after that, wants lunch..."

Brill looked out again, the Anglo-Japanese girl was seen pushing the oma into the white tent, where health services are free.

"Brill... memorize the lyrics Who Says Elderly Is Not Useful? Oma wants to leave the song but has not memorized the lyrics..."

Brill takes his phone search from the clever tool that the lyrics of the song you mean, after finding Brill handed his phone to Susan. Oma Susan began singing her choice of song.

Brill took the quitar and looked for a chord that matched the basic tone Susan took. Susan's voice is melodious, Brill's singing talent and music from Susan's oma.

It was Om who introduced the quitar to him, when he was the seventh birthday of Susan gave a gift of a quitar. Since then she has been interested in music and then becomes a lonely escape as parents become busy and often leave even less likely to ignore her.

Because oma put the lyrics wrong, Brill sang along. In the same vein as the title track "Balada Pelaut” but the lyrics were changed, they sang in several repetitions, Brill and Ora Susan duet in the room accompanied by excerpts of the perfect acoustic guitar from Brill.

It sounded beautiful and harmonious, to the point that ART stood dazzled at the door of the room. The oma and grandchild duet blends the semi seriosa sound of Susan's oma balanced by the snug and slick sound of Brill's masculine voice.

After singing, Susan rubbed Brill's cheek...

"Brill has a beautiful voice, smart to play music... Brill dear to God.. oma out yes.. maybe oma already sought people... later lunch oma delivery to the room as well... "

Oma Susan out of Brill's room. Oma's attention was her strength and the quiet filler of her heart.

"Mom..."

"Is there anything Brill wants to eat again? Outside a lot of cakes later oma ask Nelly to bring in some for you..."

"I don't. I. I want to sing with oma later..."

Oma frowned, this is something once if Brill wants to sing in front of people.

"There's a lot of Brill guys, you're definitely not into it..."

"I. I want to sing a duet with an oma..."

Oma Susan approached her granddaughter. She could read the doubtful look in Brill's eyes, but oma thought of something more than just singing along, her grandson needs a positive boost to develop himself, she said, his grandson must be able to change the bad things in him by bringing out the best side there is.

"Brill seriously?"

"I series... Ehh.. Cancel me. I really don't like a lot of people..."

"here... Brill..."

Oma Susan led Brill to a king size teak bed with four-pole ornaments at its four corners.

"Brill can play some instruments well, can sing, your voice is beautiful... you train with your band every day, but if you just enjoy yourself never performing in front of people, it's also less meaningful..."

Oma was silent for a moment, wanting to see Brill's reaction. Still looks doubtful.

"Oma will not force you to appear if there is a feeling of insecure, if you like to do it, please.it will certainly be very entertaining for the elderly..."

Brill lowered his head for a long time he was still stuck gathering motivation, thinking about the words oma...

"First time trying does feel heavy. If you enjoy doing it, it will make it easier. It's up to Brill, right?"

Oma left her grandson now.

"I want oma, I want to sing with oma..."

Oma stared in a smile while holding the door leaf of the room.

"So... oma put it on the show yes... oma want to tell the MCnya... don't cancel ya?"

"Yes.I want to accompany the singing oma..."

"OK. oma happy duet with you Brill..."

Oma showed a smile then closed the door from the outside.

Brill returned to the edge of the window, finding the girl he was looking for was feeding the oma painstakingly, occasionally seen chatting something while laughing. There was something that caught his attention, emanating the affection of the split-lipped girl for the oma.

This gave him a little encouragement earlier, he felt like he had never done anything for Susan, but since childhood it was he who was the most attentive to her. She wanted to please oma, while singing together earlier she saw the happy face of Susan.
