I Refuse to Be a Supporting Character
Chapter 80: Orphans

After returning once again to Gu's villa, Gu Jin felt tired like a bird dragging himself back to his room.

If not for Gu Teng's reminder yesterday, he would have forgotten that today was the birthday of his father, Gu Changsheng.

After hurriedly buying a tie, Gu Jin rushed back to the villa in the evening to join his family for dinner.

The living room is very quiet. In this neatly furnished room, the white-clothed girl sitting on the sofa was eye-catching.

Her hair was neatly set behind her. After hearing the voice, she turned around, revealing her beautiful face.

“Gu's sister is back,” Gu Ling said mockingly, but her tone couldn't hide how upset she really was. “Rare guests!”

“I'm not just a guest,” Gu Jin said as he took off his shoes. She smiled as she replied: “This is my own home. I like to visit whenever I am free.”

“But I remember you prefer to stay at cousin Cheng's house,” Gu Ling said as he narrowed his eyes at Gu Jin. “No, you should have stayed in the apartment Cheng Xin bought at your school.”

He seemed to imply that since Gu Jin continued to rely on Cheng Xin, he might as well live with the cousin's family.

“How about that?” Gu Jin put his palm on the handle and said carelessly, “My cousin's sister likes me and wants me to stay in her apartment.” He looked at Gu Ling faintly and said, “What does this have to do with you?”

Gu Ling's expression changed. He was an orphan who did not even know who his parents were, let alone his other relatives. He had no place to go except for Grandma Gu who brought him in.

However, the Gu family already had Gu Jin.

Since childhood, Gu Ling had to live in the countryside with Grandma Gu, feeding chickens and ducks all day long so that she could please the old woman.

Meanwhile, Gu Jin was born with good parents and was respected and loved by his mother. She also lived in a large and luxurious villa in the capital, like a graceful and noble princess.

Standing in front of this cousin made Gu Ling feel like an ugly duckling.

He doesn't want to. They had the same surname Gu, but why was their fate so different? So, whenever he got the chance to visit this villa, he took the opportunity to learn Gu Jin's manners and customs, hoping to get help from his uncle Gu. Over time, her temperament became quite different from that of a country girl who grew up in a remote area.

He was supposed to be happy, but when he finally came face to face with Gu Jin, he felt as if he was trying hard to achieve a high goal, only to make a joke about himself in the end.

There is no one else in the living room at the moment. Gu Ling hated trying to hide his dislike for Gu Jin. He gritted his teeth and said, “Why do you want to come back?”

Without her, Gu Ling would be the only girl the family cared about. Since Uncle Gu really liked his daughter, he would also accept Gu Ling into his family and treat her like a little princess.

“The same question comes back to you. Where do you think I want to stay?” Gu Jin raised his eyes lazily. Before he finished speaking, Gu Teng walked in wearing his sweaty sneakers and basketball clothes.

“Some people should not dare think of staying with our family, but once their last name is Gu, they think they should be the heir to our family?” Gu Teng slowly walked into the living room and sat on the sofa, then crossed his slender legs.

The basketball fell to the ground and rolled towards Gu Ling's feet. His face paled for a moment.
