I Refuse to Be a Supporting Character
Chapter 16: Family Dinner (1)

There were three floors in the Gu family villa.

The first floor contained the living room, the second floor was where Gu's parents lived, and lastly, the third floor was handed over to Gu Jin and his younger brother, Gu Teng.

Gu Jin's hand swept over the cold white European handrails as he carried her to the third floor.

He turned to the first room to his right, which was his bedroom.

He pushed the door open to reveal a cream-colored wall filled with purple dandelion flowers. The room was decorated with ivory collections while the cupboard gave off a fresh lavender scent.

It can be seen that even though he is not very often at home, there is still someone who will ensure the cleanliness of his room.

The impression given by this bedroom is plain elegance with gentle warmth; this is consistent with the temperament of the original owner.

In this light-colored setting, the table near the window sill is very inconspicuous.

There are several collections of famous poems on the table, with annotations left behind by the host.

His handwriting was smooth, like his owner's.

Gu Jin dispelled his boredom by reading notes and poems in those books; he passed his time by doing so for the next twenty minutes.

Gu Jin rubbed his aching shoulder and sighed. The original host was an intellectual.

When he thought of the comics he read on his phone and compared them to the elegant tastes of the original owner, Gu Jin suddenly felt a little embarrassed.

After being embarrassed for two seconds, she brushed off the negative thoughts and casually lay down on her bed. He pulled out his phone and started looking around.

There was no way I would act like a graceful scholar; I was just a passerby who ended up moving into the body of a character by accident.

The life I have now is not the life I have ever experienced before. In my previous life, I never had time for myself, but in this new world, I will eat, drink, and have fun from now on.

At around 4:30 pm, Zhao Yi, a cook who had worked for the Gu family for many years, came to prepare dinner.

Gu Jin took a shower and changed his clothes before heading down.

If you look closely, it seems to be related to computers.

Gu Jin sighed once more. Undoubtedly, the Gu family deserves to be called scholars; each of its members are experts in learning and their desire to learn is in no way higher than that of ordinary people.

For example, there was Gu Teng who was about to take the college entrance exam; he had not even turned the page in his review book. This teenager only learned what he was interested in. Not only did their parents not scold him, they seemed to have given up on convincing him at this moment. Perhaps because they were very confident in their son's abilities.

When Gu Jin recalled the original owner's memories of his previous life, he discovered that Gu Teng was accepted into the computer department at the Imperial University.

When he recalled such a fact, Gu Jin felt this brat was suddenly very admirable.

“Aunt Zhao, we will eat sweet sour pork ribs for dinner.” Gu Teng read a single page while giving the order.

“Good!” Aunt Zhao's loud voice echoed from the kitchen. He was usually quite relaxed, but at this moment, his heart felt a little confused. If he remembered it correctly, Little Teng disliked anything with its sweet and sour taste.

But when it comes to sweetness and sourness, Aunt Zhao couldn't help but think of a certain person.

As a forthright woman, the aunt immediately said what she thought: “Unfortunately, Little Jin is not with us today. He likes to eat sweet sour pork ribs that I made.”

Right after speaking, Aunt Zhao remembered that the relationship between the two brothers was not very good. How could he let his mouth slip?

He could only quietly pray that Gu Teng would not hear him.

As he exited the kitchen to deliver the dishes, he saw Gu Jin standing behind Gu Teng.

His eyes widened in surprise and he exclaimed, Little “Jin, you're home! I wonder why Little Teng asked me to make sweet sour ribs.”

Gu Teng turned his head and looked back. His eyes suddenly caught Gu Jin's gaze, making him blush for a moment. He quickly turned around and snorted, but he did not deny Aunt's words. The boy flipped through his book and pretended to read once more.

As someone with a sister-complex, Gu Teng was aware from the very beginning when Gu Jin arrived home. He waited a long time near his window, but he still did not see anyone enter through the door.

Gu Teng wanted to come out and greet him, but he was afraid that if he came to him, they might get into another fight and cause him to leave.
