The next morning after a night of rest Souma and the others continued on their way to penetrate the forest, the fog was gone and they were able to get out of there safely.
For the Ariana group they chose to stay so as not to bother.
"I have not seen the tower of Babel in this place at all, but an empty land with nothing."
"So am I."
"Their own interest is deliberately hidden."
Souma drew his sword, slashing softly until a crack appeared in the air, the crack began to spread further and further broke into glass fragments.
At the same time the green landscape turned into barren land with rocks that looked eroded by the fire and between them a tower that looked like a monster towered into the sky, each of its exteriors formed a kind of giant mouth that was wide open with lined teeth.
To his own body looks like a giant snake.
"What a terrible place, let's move."
Eris walks ahead of the lead while Souma chooses to keep quiet and just follow her from behind. As for Rosalin and Lugina they were carefully wary of the surroundings.
Soon the gate of the tower opened as if intentionally to allow them to walk in.
"I don't like this, above there must be some kind of trap" Rosalin said.
"The owner of this tower is not the convoluted type of person, he will directly attack from the front," replied Eris who had gone up the stairs.
Souma, Rosalin and Lugina followed.
There was a wide spiral staircase connecting the bottom and top, there were no monsters whatsoever in it, even if the difficulty they could get was just such a thing as a slight fatigue.
Arriving at the top of the tower on the floor were seen two people lying helpless, one Fram and another man named Jerald, their bodies bleeding on the floor although now almost all of their appearance is just a skull.
On the other hand on a throne a little girl was sitting while propping up her chin. Souma was confused by how the girl had a face and voice similar to the goddess he knew, Persefone.
"I had expected that a strange goddess had visited my place."
"Goddess Eris, can you explain everything to me?" cut Souma.
"You don't want to try asking her."
"She looks like a person who won't answer a question from someone so easily."
"You're right, she's the twin sister of the goddess you know as Hersefone. When the evil gods were sealed, she came out before someone took it all out."
"I don't really like old stories" the girl cut.
"It's weird that even if you come out you let the others stay locked up."
"I don't really care about anyone but my life."
"The unexpected answer."
Eris patted Souma on the back.
"We should not all kill him, if he dies then the goddess is also experiencing the same thing, or vice versa."
"As much as you can defeat me, the two people there can't do anything either."
Souma tried to put everything in his head.
"You were the one who made them into witches before, but aren't they supposed to be on your side?"
"I think you've misunderstood, they've come to kill me, that's the quickest way for them to return to their own human form."
"The reason you're doing all this?"
"I love it when humans kill each other."
