“Chiih! He said he didn't come home.” I was still sulking with my hands wriggling around her smiling neck while stroking my head gently.

“Hehehe.” I smiled and hugged her back tightly.

I smiled back behind his chest.

I smiled at her who was also smiling, she almost kissed me if I didn't push her and dodged.

My chest started pounding, fear began to creep up making my hands begin to tremble, my eyes continued to stare at his left arm. Slowly the jacket began to open until it finally opened completely making my body limp instantly and my tears began to roll.
“So... Mas Yudha?” I asked with a trembling voice when I saw his left arm now covered with gauze with brownish red patches made my chest hurt and tears more and more out.

“So the one who got shot was Mas Yudha!” I cried while looking at him with increasingly wet eyes.

I can't go on with my words imagining how if the bullet went a little to the right then it wasn't his arm that was going to get shot but his heart! Imagining it instantly made me sit down and cry.

My crying seems to be tight enough to make Dad and Mom come.
“Mas Yudha, Yah!” I looked at Father who looked confused looking at me who was sitting on the terrace with tears breaking, “Mas Yudha who was shot.”
Like I was the eyes of Father and Mother suddenly wide staring at the Lieutenant who is now trying to calm my parents.

“It's still bleeding!” I shouted while pointing at the gauze with brownish red patches.
The Lieutenant crouched down in front of me, his hand stroking my head gently then wiping away the tears on my cheek.

“What's wrong, Yud?” mother asked as worried as I was, making the Lieutenant look at her while smiling soothingly.

At that time I was calm and eating together, but to be honest my feelings were still not completely calm. Various kinds of questions ‘what if’ keeps echoing in my head.
“What if he had to return to duty and go home with even more severe injuries?”
“What if the next time the shot did not miss and make a bullet lodged in his body?”
