Guardians of the Heart #2

Guardians of the Heart #2
Chapter 31

Slowly I opened my eyes and sat down, the wall clock was 2 o'clock. I slept for an hour but my body was feeling really fresh. I stretched my body as my eyes caught the Lieutenant's leather jacket draped in the chair making me jump straight out of bed and out of the room because it seemed like the man I missed was now home.

My smile rose as I watched from above the Lieutenant sitting while watching TV making me quickly descend the stairs and jump into her arms tightly making her laugh while holding me back.

“Kangen,” I said while kissing her cheek.

“I also.” She said as she kissed me on the cheek, made me smile then hugged her back.

For a while we just hugged each other channeling a pent-up longing these past few weeks.

“Same Papah where?”

“Out buy nasi padang.. hungry.”.

“Mas Yudha has not eaten?”

The Lieutenant shook his head.

“What do you drink? I made itin.”

“Udah you just sit here, I still miss.”

I smiled at the words of the Lieutenant who hugged me tightly even with one hand.

“Tadi... Mamah who told me to sleep in Mas Yudha's room.” I don't want him to get me wrong for watching me sleep on his bed.

“Nothing, it will also be your room,” said the Lieutenant with a smile.

“Why not wake up?”

“I also just got home.”

“Mas Yudha must be tired, want to sleep?”

The Lieutenant looked at me for a moment and then smiled.

“Sleep here only bentar.” She let go of her embrace to shift then slept on my lap, “If Mamah has gone home, wake up ya.”

“Iya.. So inget first, Mas Yudha also slept in my lap before I finally lost Mas Yudha.” I stroked his hair, my eyes looked at his face that was closed, “Mas Yudha will not leave me behind?”

There is fear in me because once was like this, everything seemed smooth and fine before the storm really came that broke my heart.

“Now that we have been bound, there will be no more to separate us than God,” replied the Lieutenant with eyes still closed.

“Totally?”

“Insyallah... ask God that we are no longer separated.”.

“Aamiin.”

I stroked his hair again and let the Lieutenant to sleep because it seemed like he had less rest lately, around 3 o'clock the parents of the Lieutenant came home with a few plastic bags filled with food.

“Sleep from earlier?” ask Mamah.

“Barusan.. just sleep first yes, Mah, Kasian must be tired really.” I whispered because I didn't want to wake the Lieutenant making Mamah smile and then nodded in understanding.

“Bangunin, tell move to room to be comfortable sleep.”

“Let's not even sleep again, Pah, let's sleep here just a minute ago Mas Yudha asked to be built if Mamah same Papah had come home because he was hungry, but… just a moment more, eat it? Kekey can't bear to wake up.”

Papah nodded in understanding and I just woke up the Lieutenant at 4. Two hours of sleep is enough to make it look fresh again, and now immediately spend three dishes of rice paddocks.

“How many days have you not eaten, Mas?” I was surprised to see him eat like that made him laugh.

“Every day also eat but yes potluck and if you have time, sometimes feel not nelen food,” the answer is now continued to spend the mixed ice that Mamah bought earlier.

“Besok work?” asked Mas Yudha after finishing the ice.

“Work.”

“Izin can not?”

“Izin?”

“Iya, one day only.”

“Where are you?”

“Where, all day tomorrow I want to date my fiance and not want to be disturbed.”

I was silent for a moment while thinking about my finished work making me nod with a smile, “Ok! Tomorrow we date.”

And the next morning the Lieutenant had come to pick me up, he said goodbye to Fathers to take me away today. And it turns out we went to Ciwidey, a place where a story between us began.

I smiled as I stared out the window where the expanse of tea garden with fresh air welcomed us, the car window was deliberately opened wide so that we could enjoy the typical mountain air.

“Remember, Key, here 4 years ago we first met.”

“Remember dong, hehehe.. and Mas Yudha is still very jutek.”.

“And you are so fierce.”

“Ckk..

“Hahaha, yes.”

That day we talked about the nostalgic past with our own stories, we laughed in light of those times. There have been many stories that we passed together from being sad, happy, sometimes we will cry, feel disappointed and angry, but it turns out we laughed more in between the course of our relationship.

“God wants us to love each other more and trust each other that's why God gives trials that no one else can pass, but see? Thank God we are now already at this point, just one step away from becoming a married couple.”

I smiled while nodding. Currently we are in the white crater of a tourist spot located in Ciwidey, which is a crater from the eruption of Mount Patuha. But the main attraction is the white soil because of a mixture of sulfur and water that is greenish-white. Being there made me feel like I was in another world fairyland.

We sat on the white ground next to each other, maybe because Monday so there is quite quiet there are only the two of us and some young people seem to be students who are recreation and a pair of brides who are doing prewed photos.

“One day we will also be like that,” said the Lieutenant while looking at a couple who are doing prewed photos, “If we are prewed photos you want what concept?”

“Hmm... what is it? Army.”

“Army?”

“Yes, Mas Yudha is cool if you are wearing a uniform.”

“Hahaha... easy if that's mah, tar we ask Arga who took photos for free.”

“Hahaha, yes right!”

We were back to fantasizing about the photos we were going to take later but somehow I saw the anxiety of the Lieutenant all day, he always looked at me with a soft, sad look, I even once saw her eyes glazed over while looking at me unblinkingly as if she wanted to keep today's memories in her eyes and memories.

His hand never let go of my hand for a while unless he was driving, even though he was driving if he could, he would hold my hand again and kiss it. It started me getting scared.

But I was too afraid to ask what was really going on, what if it was like I was afraid that he would leave me like I used to? The rest of the way home we were more silent, I was with my fear and he was with his own mind.

Until we finally reached the top of the stars. Yes, the same place where we pledged our love, it used to be called the star hill but has now been renamed to the top of the star with a higher position than before and has been arranged in such a way as to become even more beautiful.

“Tomorrow I go to duty,” he said after from earlier we just fell silent to enjoy the afternoon view of Bandung from a height.

“Task again?” I asked while looking at him disappointed to have to be left back but suddenly I was again made surprised when the Lieutenant hugged me tightly.

“Prieve me to return home safely, say my name in every prayer completed, ask God to protect me and be able to take me back in your arms.”

I was silent with a thousand whackings of my chest, my throat was heating up and somehow the tears rolling hearing her words made me hug her back tightly.

“God willing, God will protect Mas Yudha and will send Mas Yudha back into my arms.

I heard the smile of the Lieutenant making me smile.

“This is not the first task of Mas Yudha, and see all this time Mas Yudha can return home safely, all this time also without being told I always pray Mas Yudha.”

I tried to encourage her who she seemed to need so much at the moment, she let go of her embrace then looked at me with loving eyes.

“But this is my first time leaving my fiancee.”

“Hahaha... Mas Yudha forgot that Mas Yudha has left me on duty for weeks?”

The Lieutenant looked at me for a moment then smiled broadly, “Oh yes, hahaha..forget.”.

“Forgot if already engaged?”

“Iya, hahahaha.”

“Iiiiiih!!”

“Sorry, Love.”

“Love?”

“Iya, the end of Mamah same Papah ngeduluin call you dear anyway.”

“Hahaha... do not want Love.”.

“Why?”

“Kaya her son Uya Kuya.”

“Hahahaha.. His love AADC dong is beautiful.”.

“Ckkk... don't want any! Unless Mas Yudha wants me to call Rangga.”

“Eh, yes don't.”

“Hahaha.”

“What dong?”

“Tar I'll tell you, but later.”

I already know what call I want to hear from him, but then when the time comes.
