A few minutes passed, and Aldi turned to face Mike.
"Mike" said Aldi, "Do you think Verlita still doesn't remember you after all these years? aren't you trying to check her past memories against other things or people other than you?"
"At first I thought he'd never remember Al. I've been trying to appear accidentally in front of him all this time. But I have always been an invisible human being. He doesn't remember me at all, Al."
"Then, what did I see?"
"So I tried to talk to him alone for the first time since he had forgotten his memory of me. Then when we shook hands, I couldn't help myself. I seem to be reminded of our closeness in the past."
"And do you think Verlita's response is natural to an ex-lover who doesn't remember you at all?" Aldi still feels something is not right here. Some things still feel weird.
Aldi asked a difficult question for Mike to answer.
"I'm still convinced that Verlita is still losing her memory, and she doesn't remember me at all as the lover she once loved. I thought that it was just an impulsive moment because of our closeness. Or maybe he even re-feels his love for me and is no stranger to our closeness" Mike said.
Aldi listened seriously, trying to digest Mike's words. However, his facial expression remained filled with doubt.
"That's it, Mike," Aldi said. "I think Verlita is no stranger to your physical closeness. Verlita who has done it many times with you must have a deep impression. I even assumed she wanted me and she could get to the stage you guys were dating first. But since he couldn't get it, then he went away from me and did it with a lot of other men."
Mike is offended and unable to hear anything bad about Verlita's relationship with the men. He immediately cut Aldi.
"Enough, Al. Don't say that again" Mike said in a pleading voice.
Aldi looked at Mike's worsening expression, but there was no desire to stop the topic he was addressing. "You clearly know that Verlita has done it with many men for the stability of her position at Blue Corp all this time."
"He's just lonely, Al. I'm sure no man has been able to fulfill his wish in bed."
"So you think you're the only one who's been able to make him satisfied, Mike! Are You Sure?" Aldi held back a laugh as well as being somewhat in disbelief with what Mike had said.
How could Mike fool himself like this.
"Have you just concluded that because of an incident that just happened because of my appearance in your office?" Aldi is still trying to build rationality thinking Mike.
"isn't that clear? He still wants our closeness. He still wants me, Al. I think I'm still in his heart. Even though she doesn't remember me, she still remembers how she feels for me."
Mike continues to dig into his belief that he still has a place in Verlita's heart, though Aldi remains skeptical. As Aldi continued his conversation with Mike, the atmosphere in the room grew tense. Mike is still convinced that Verlita still has pent-up feelings for him, even if he doesn't remember them clearly.
"You have to accept when I take him away from your life. I'm going to get him to move to the branch office furthest from here" Aldi added.
Mike was silent to the decision Aldi made. Mike seriously considered what Aldi had decided, but Aldi also felt that something felt strange. It's just that Aldi doesn't know what exactly it is.
As Aldi continued to consider everything that had happened and the plans he had put together, the strange feeling grew stronger. There was something he had yet to fully understand, something that might have been missed.
Aldi tried to ponder and dig deeper, trying to identify what made him feel like something was wrong. Then, a theory suddenly appeared in his mind.
"Mike" Aldi said in a hesitant tone, "what if Verlita hasn't forgotten you all along? He just doesn't want to come back to you for all kinds of reasons."
Mike, at first, is surprised to hear Aldi's theory that challenges his initial thinking. She is already convinced that Verlita has lost her memory of their relationship. However, Aldi provides an interesting perspective. Although it sounded absurd, Mike began to consider this possibility.
"Aldi, that sounds very unlikely. But what makes you think that?" mike asked with curiosity.
Aldi explained his thoughts, "When you were suddenly that close to Verlita until something so messy happened earlier, I still felt astonished and very strange. I think if he still thinks you're a stranger, you won't be able to get that close until you almost kiss. Moreover, it was the first time you two talked together and were close together since she lost her memories all those years ago. Besides, I'm sure we both know that Verlita can do anything to achieve her goals."
Mike pondered for a moment, considering the argument conveyed by Aldi. "I never thought that far, Al. But, I agree with you about Verlita being able to do whatever it takes to achieve what her goal is."
"I need to find out more about this." Added Mike.
"If he's been fooling you all these years, you're gonna feel more pain than all the pain he's been giving you all this time, Mike. Can you hold on?"Aldi looked at Mike seriously.
Mike was silent to Aldi's question. Then Mike turned to look into Aldi's eyes. "If Kiara is cheating on you like this, making your relationship a joke and pretending not to know you but instead showing her love for you, your brother, how do you feel, Al? Can you survive the situation?"
"No, I won't be able to hold on as strong as you are now, Mike." Aldi Sahut. He wants to stop any bad scenarios about Kiara coming out of Mike's mouth.
Aldi's feelings were again painful given his relationship with Kiara which deteriorated overnight. He was like falling to the dark sea floor after previously being in heaven which was at a far height above the sky.
"I'm sorry, Mike. I leave Verlita's business to you. I'll focus on finding a way for Kiara to come back to me. I just hope you finish what's unfinished between you and Verlita soon."
