Chapter 44. The capture of Ivan
After last night detective Egan had ignited his emotions because he was intercepted by a license that could not be signed by the party who swam that night as well, this morning the condition of detective Egan was much calmer.
Detective Egan sat staring at the window of his study while enjoying the warm black coffee he made himself, when he just arrived at the place.
“What coffee is it?“ ask Detective Keiko who just walked into the room.
“Kopi Toraja, a gift from my cousin's sister who just returned from work. You want to ngga?“
“Mau dong, gan.“
“Gue put it in the kitchen. Do you know the jar I used to wear!?“
Without a second thought, detective Keiko immediately stepped into the special pantry of their division to make the coffee offered by detective Egan.
Shortly after, detective Egan sees Mr. Brox who just got out of the elevator and holds a brown envelope in his right hand.
“Quick there, catch the uncivilized man,” Brox said as he handed the envelope to detective Egan.
“Ready pack!“ reply detective Egan while standing with the perfect attitude as a form of thank him because Mr. Brox has been working on the warrant in earnest.
“Coffee Tojara?“ ask Mr. Brox.
“Betul pack.“
“Make me one. Bring it to my room yes,” pinta pak brox.
“Of course sir.“
Detective Egan walks straight to the pantry and makes coffee for Mr. Brox.
“Lo make again?“ shocked also detective Keiko saw his partner making another cup of coffee.
“Not for me. Make Mr. Brox,” replied detective Egan.
“That's a warrant?“
“Iya. After I give this coffee to Mr. Brox we go straight to that hill again.“
The two detectives immediately handed over the coffee that belonged to Mr. Brox and immediately set off towards the hill to arrest Ivan.
Detective Keiko moved the coffee he brewed earlier into the tumbler so he could take it and enjoy on their way this time.
Detective Egan steps up the stairs to the building where Ivan used to work.
Detective Egan peeked inside but the room found that it was empty even though all the electronics were still on.
“How?“ detective Keiko shouted from the parking lot below.
“Ngga there is nobody here,” replied detective Egan also shouted.
But soon the two hear someone running down the hill and detective Egan sees Ivan trying to get away from them.
“Kei.. Ivan ran towards the village,” back detective Egan shouted but while chasing Ivan continued down the hill towards the village.
Ivan's run is fast enough to make his distance with detective Egan quite far as well but was almost out of breath, detective Egan did not want to let his hunt just off. Detective Egan continued for days until he had no chance to pull the gun.
“Ivan, stop... “ shouted detektfit Egan but Ivan did not respond at all, instead the run is firmer.
Until Ivan met the two policemen who used to patrol the village standing in the middle of the road, “Beyond you guys, do not block me.“
But the two policemen actually blocked Ivan's run and arrested him.
“Let go of me,” shouted Ivan.
With a breath of decency Egan said to the two policemen, “thank you.“
“On behalf of the law in this country, you I arrested on charges of murder against Tania Akbar. All forms of defense you can lqkukan in the police station and you are entitled to a lawyer,” detective Egan read out the rights and obligations of Ivan who is now a strong suspect.
Even this time detective Egan didn't have to show Ivan an arrest warrant.
Of course, Ivan still continues to struggle to escape but he has to fight two detectives and one detective, for sure he will still lose.
Ivan kept saying, “LEKeEP ME!“
“Please shut up a little, the honorable forest police!“ gritted detective Egan.
Shortly afterwards detective Keiko also came to the place and also thanked the two policemen in the village.
Then the two detectives took Ivan to the police station to return for a series of further interrogations.
