Chapter 4. Delivering bad news
Keiko knocked on the white door. Shortly after, a middle-aged man opened the door.
“Good afternoon sir! I'm detective Keiko and this is my partner, detective Egan.“
Egan and Keiko took turns to greet the father.
“Good afternoon! I'm Cahyo. What are the needs of this father and mother to my home?“ calmly, the man asked.
“Can we talk inside?!“ Keiko tried to get the safest place to deliver the bad news.
“Oh, sorry. Please login.“ The man named Cahyo tilted his body, opening the way for Egan and Keiko to enter the house.
The two are invited to sit by Mr. Cahyo and offer drinks but politely rejected Egan.
“They are who, sir?“ ask a middle-aged woman who just came out of the room.
“This is my wife, Maria.“ Mr. Cahyo introduced.
“I'm detective Egan, and this is my friend, detective Keiko.“ Egan stood up from his seat and greeted Mary's mother.
Maria's mother also sat next to her husband who still put on a calm face the arrival of two detectives in their house.
“Pak Cahyo and Maria's mother are right, parents from Tania Akbar?“ finally Keiko opened the conversation between them after a few seconds the room was silent.
“Betul. I'm Tania's father. What's up?“
“What Tania eliminate customer money?“ mary's voice sounded much more worried than her husband's.

“Betul. Three days ago about five in the afternoon. What's this actually?“ mary asked again.
“We came here, asked my mother and father to come to the police station for identification. Is it true that the body we found was Tania Akbar.“ Keiko was straight to the point.
“How does that mean?“ mr. Cahyo didn't seem to hear what Keiko was saying.
“We found a body on a hill in the village of Kebun Jati yesterday morning. According to our office base data, the body was Tania Akbar. But we think you know Tania.“
The faces of disbelief in the two men were very clear. Even Maria's mother immediately fell sitting on the sofa right next to Mr. Cahyo.
While Mr. Cahyo is seen still trying to control himself although it is also clear he is even difficult to support his own body.
This is what Egan fears the most. Seeing the reactions of the families of the victims who are often hysterical because they get news that is not at all good at hearing the ears let alone the heart.
Egan touches Keiko's shoulder, giving her a sign that she's not comfortable in that place either.
But Keiko held him off for a while, making sure that Mr. Cahyo and Maria's mother would come to the porens office to identify the body Birdella was examining.
