Chapter 23. Meet the third commissioner, Bian

With a fairly quick step, detective Egan stepped closer to Mr. Bian who was only escorted by one guard.

“Pak Bian, can I have a moment?!” detective Egan said while holding back Bian's guard by pulling one of his arms.

“What is this? You who?“ ask the bodyguard to try to release his legacy from detective Egan.

“I'm from the police. Have to talk to Mr. Bian,” Detective Egan replied to the bodyguard.

“What is this problem?“ asked Bian stopped his steps and now stood facing detective Egan.

“There are some questions that I want to convey to father,” said detective Egan while releasing his hand from the bodyguard of Mr. Bian.

“Please,” said Pak Bian confidently.

“Does it matter if I ask those questions here sir?“ detective Egan asked trying to shrink the volume of his voice.

“Of course it won't be a problem. Please ask here,” replied Mr. Bian.

“At this place?“ detective Egan asked while glancing at the bodyguard of Mr. Bian who was still standing firmly beside detective Egan.

“Calm down, Yoyo is very trustworthy,” said Pak Bian while patting the arm of his great height.

“Well then sir, I am directly on the question. Was it true on the twenty-first of August yesterday, you attended a meeting at this company?“ ask detective Egan straight to the point.

“Yoyo, please see my agenda. Try to check on the twenty-first of August, what are my events?“ ask Mr. Bian to the bodyguard who turned out to be his adjutant.

Yoyo the bodyguard opened the agenda book that had been in his hands and tried to find a page containing the date requested by Mr. Bian.

“On the twenty-first of August, in the morning you have a meeting with the CEO of the company Cahaya Abadi to discuss buying and selling shares with his company. After that, I watched the first child golf tournament in the Bogor area, then from afternoon to evening I had a meeting with Mr. Atep and Mr. Reno in this building,” Yoyo read out everything written on the page he has opened.

“Iya true. I was in that meeting that day. Meetings that discuss about the change of CEO in this company. From Mr. Julian who will act to Romeo Soeratman, his son,” said Mr. Bian.

“It seems that at that time Mr Julian and Romeo Soertaman were not present at the meeting?!“ detective Egan said.

“Of course they were both present at the time of the meeting. Why do we conduct meetings if the people to be discussed and discussed are not present in the meeting,” said Mr. Bian.

“Oh, it turns out that Mr. Julian and Soeratman are present. I think they were not present because Yoyo just did not mention the two names,” detective Egan trying to find a reason to dig up more info and ensure the existence of Romeo from the mouth of Mr. Bian directly.

Mr. Bian looks cynically at detective Egan who is still standing in front of him. It was as if he felt that detective Egaan was not a person who was smart enough and incompetent enough to become a member of the police force.

“Does meeting that day Romeo come late?“ ask detective Egan again regardless of the cynical views of Mr. Bian.

“As I recall he did not come late,” said Mr. Bian confidently.

“Sorry sir. When the meeting that day Mr. Romeo did come a bit late,” Yoyo tried to remind his boss with a very polite tone.

“Is that so, yo?“ mr. Bian tried to ask about the confidence of his bodyguard's words.

“Iya sir. Mr. Romeo was late to the meeting for a few minutes,” replied Yoyo still with the same polite tone.

“Oh yes right. I just remember at that time Mr. Julian was very angry at Romeo for coming late. Mr. Julian considered Romeo underestimated the very important meeting,” continued Mr. Bian who suddenly remembered the incident in the meeting a few days ago.

“Did you remember Romeo gave an excuse for his delay that day?“ ask Mr. Bian to Yoyo.

“Pak Romeo said he was late because he had to drive one of his friends to the airport to return home to Morocco and he was stuck in traffic on the road to the office,” Yoyo replied.

“Ya, roughly like that is the reason Romeo gave to his father and us at that time,” said Mr. Bian.

“Quite reasonable,” muttered detective Egan.

“Increasingly makes sense. We all know that in the current capital, congestion is a very common thing to happen,” replied Mr. Bian who apparently heard the muttering of detective Egan.

“Then thank you very much for the cooperation of Mr. Bian and Yoyo,”, said detective Egan with a big smile who was embarrassed and amazed at the hearing of Mr. Bian.

Even though his memory is so bad that he needs an aide who must help him remember many things but he can hear a mutter from the mouth of detective Egan.

“Alright, then I can continue my journey home right?“ ask Bian to detective Egan.

“Oh, of course sir,” replied detective Egan.

“I am happy to help the police,” timpal Yoyo while smiling kindly.

After that Mr. Bian and Yoyo again walked out of the company building. Detective Egan returns to detective Keiko who is still standing in front of the reception desk and Hilda is still doing her job.

“Hilda, we excuse you,” detective Egan said and Hilda replied with a friendly smile because she was on the phone.

Detectives Edan and Keiko walked towards their parked car in the basement of the building.

“So, how?“ detective Keiko asked when the two were in the car.

“The three commissioners in this company said that Romeo came when the meeting took place,” Detective Egan replied while turning on his car engine.

“OK. Then?“ ask Detective Keiko again.

“But all three confirmed that Romeo came late from his supposed schedule. He was late for a few minutes, ” replied detective Egan.

Now their car has returned to speed on the asphalt of the vehicle.

“So in fact, his alibi cannot be said to be valid one hundred percent?“ detective Keiko asks his partner's opinion.

“I think so. He remains at the very top of the list as a suspect,” Detective Egan replied.

“Means we can meet him and ask for his DNA sample,” detective Keiko said excitedly.

“Betul! We have to meet him again and ask for his DNA sample. Ah... I don't know why I'm so excited,” detective Egan said.

“Sama, I too. It feels like I will meet the perpetrator,” Detective Keiko replied.

Both are focused on the highway. Egan also drove a car with focus to Romeo's house to ask him to give a sample of his DNA.

This time, detectives Egan and Keiko have a warrant that they can use to force Romeo Soeratman to provide a sample of his DNa.
