Code 810: Corpse On The Hill
Chapter 31. The case is deadlocked

After getting answers from Birdella, detectives Egan and Keiko return to their respective desks.

Detective Keiko carries Birdella's analysis in a chocolate map and combines it with other data they've collected since the investigation began.

Meanwhile, detective Egan sits dumbstruck in his chair trying to figure out what he missed from this investigation. The missing puzzle must be found immediately and fill in the empty space.

“What will we do?“ detective Keiko asked while piling up more brown maps that he had finished reading.

“We must have missed a lot of things at the scene of the crime,” detective Egan said as he continued to be immersed in his own thoughts.

“Not Birdella has been checking all corners of the crime scene?! What if we missed?“

“What notes did Birdella write in this investigation?“ ask detective Egan.

Detective Keiko opened one of the brown maps on his desk, “The victim was found at half-eight in the morning by a man who was looking for plants on the hill. And according to the analysis of Birdella, the victim is estimated to die approximately twelve hours before it was first discovered.“

“Who is that male name?“

“Aditya leon.“ Detective Keiko replied after checking the data in the map.

“Have we ever interviewed him?“

“Iya. We interviewed him right on the day the victim's body was found, it says here.“

“We ever ask for a DNA sample?“

Detective Keiko read the report on the map and said, “We have never asked for his DNA.“

“So we only interview?“

“The status is still to this day still a witness,”

“How about we put him on the list of suspects?“ ask detective Egan.

“Anything can happen but is it too early if we get him on the list of suspects?,” detective Keiko shrugged her shoulders then detective Egan wrote the name of the witness into the list of people who need to be suspected.

“Moreover what we found?“ detective Egan.

Detective Keiko again read out the results of their initial investigation, “When finding the victim's body, Aditya immediately ran down the hill and met with one of the forest guards who was on duty there.“

“Ivan Leon. That morning she had just come out of her room to patrol when Aditya hit her.“

“OK. I continue again, right?! After that, Ivan directly contacted the police via radio in his room”

“How long does it take him back then?“ fuck detective Egan.

Detective Keiko glanced back at the paper in the map and said, “Kira-we fifty minutes.“

“Then?“

“After that they both wait for the arrival of the police in the car park under the hill.“

“Is that we missed?“ ask detective Keiko.

“So please, I am still in doubt too,” detective Egan said.

“How about we go back to the crime scene again? Who knows you can get enlightenment there,” detective Keiko gives advice to his partner who is still deep in his own mind.

“We think we need to talk to Ivan to find out and check the truth of the story from Aditya, “ said detective Egan.

“According to the patrol schedule given by the forest police, today Ivan's schedule is on guard from afternoon to tomorrow morning,” detective Keioo said after seeing the data he still holds since.

“Good. We have time to fill our stomachs before we go to Ivan and interview him.“

“How about Aditya?“ ask detective Keiko.

“Where does he live?“

“He lives in the village under that hill,” Detective Keiko replied.

“Then, we meet him first to interview him.“

“OK. Let's eat first then go there immediately,” detective Keiko directs

“It's okay like that,” replied detective Egan who actually struggled with his own mind.
