Chapter 34. Meet Ardana
Detectives Egan and Keiko once again attempt to meet Aditya in the village. They went back down the road in the village but they found almost no one.
Then they decided to enter the only coffee shop in the village.
Inside the coffee shop was a man who looked like the owner of the shop, while on the other hand there are two people who are enjoying coffee while talking and in the other corner there is someone who is smoking and enjoying a glass of black coffee.
“Welcome, good afternoon,” welcome the owner of the coffee shop.
“You are the owner of this coffee shop?“ ask detective Keiko.
“Betul. What would you like to drink?“
“Black coffee one. Love my friend coffee milk,” said detective Egan.
“Ngga want to try capuccino?“ the owner offers.
“You have?“ ask the enthusiastic detective Keiko.
“Of course I have. Although this is a small village but the taste of the people here is quite good,” said the owner of the stall.
“Then give me one,” timpal detective Keiko.
The two sat at a table facing directly to where the owner of the coffee shop made their order.
Not waiting long, coffee orders detective Egan has been delivered.
“You have to wait a while longer yes,” said the owner of the coffee wwrung to detective Keiko while putting a cup of black coffee ordered by detective Egan.
“Thank you,” detective Egan said.
“Is the village always this quiet?“ detective Keiko asked the owner of the coffee shop who was making the capuccino.
“Can be said like that. This village is almost always quiet during the day like this. Most of the residents here work in the next village as farmers and they will return in the afternoon,” replied the owner of the coffee shop, delivering the order of detective Keiko to the table in front of him.
“How about afternoon?“
“Sore is the busiest time here. But if the night has arrived, the village will be quiet again because they sleep very quickly. Maybe they've run out of energy where they work.“
Detective Egan sips his coffee which still emits smoke then asks the owner of the stall, “Do you know Aditya?“
Two people sitting not far from them turned to detective Egan. One of them got up from his seat and is now sitting next to detective Egan.
“Are you from the police?“
“Betul. I'm detective Egan, this is my colleague Keiko.“
This guy drew his seat closer to detective Egan and whispered, “You see that person sitting there?“
Detective Egan turns his face in the direction intended by the person then detective Egan signals detective Keiko to also look.
“Isn't that the person who was at the scene at the time?“ ask detective Egan.
“Betul. He's Ardana,” Detective Keiko replied.
“You already know him?! So you guys know that she was on the scene a few days ago?“
“Iya we know. Even we met with him and gave him a warning not to approach the prosecution again,” replied detective Keiko.
“Is that not something awkward for you?“
“Of course, for us it is very not good.“
“So you guys also suspect him?“ suddenly the man looked very enthusiastic.
“How about we chat again with him?!“ detective Egan's proposal.
Detective Keiko wakes up from her seat following detective Egan who has first approached Ardana who is sitting alone in the corner of a coffee shop.
Detective Keiko sits next to Ardana, while detective Egan stands behind Andara's chair making Ardana unable to move much.
“We meet again Mr. Ardana,” detective Keiko said with a smile.
“Where are you going?!“ ucapa Egan's.
Ardana's face suddenly pale, “What do you want?“
“Quietly, we just want to ask you,” replied detective Egan.
“Didn't you guys ask me a few days ago,” he said nervously.
“We want to know why you were at the scene of the crime that day.“
“I've answered.“
“Do you deliberately want to damage the perksra scene or evidence left there?“ ask the detective Keiko.
“Omong empty! what am I doing that for?“
“For nothing to lead to you either evidence or witnesses,” detective Egan said.
“It wasn't me who killed that woman!“
“Then tell us who killed him?“
Ardana rolled her eyes then looked out the coffee shop through the large window before her and her lips trembled.
Ardana then said,”What if you guys tell me?!“
Detective Egan, who is aware of Ardana's behavior, looks out the window to find out what makes her look nervous but sees nothing.
“Do you know Aditya?“ ask detective Keiko.
“This is a small village. We all know each other.“
“What are your accomplices Aditya?“ detective Egan immediately asked the point.
“You mean?“
“You helped Aditya to damage the evidence found at the crime scene,” replied detective Egan.
“Do you drink alcohol during the day like this?“ tanya Ardana raised her tone.
“I'm not drunk Mr. Ardana. But I need to know if you're hiding something,” retorted detective Egan.
Ardana stood up and said, “I'll be home. My body feels bad.“
Detective Egan steps back giving room for Ardana to step in but detective Egan's hand holds her back.
“We need your DNA,” detective Keiko said.
“I blang I didn't kill that woman!“
“Good. If it's like that then certainly not afraid to give your DNA,” said detective Egan.
Ardana glanced back at the window of the coffee shop and whispered to detective Egan, “I know who did it, who killed the woman.“
“Tell us, who?“ detective Egan is pressing
“The person who told me to come to that place. He asked me to find his lost item. I'm sure he was the one who killed the woman,“ he said with a cough
“His stuff is missing? What is that thing you mean?“ ask detective Egan.
“He didn't say anything, but he was describing to me an item that I had to ca—” suddenly Ardana collapsed, drooping on the floor after her cough did not stop and her face flushed red, everyone in the coffee shop was shocked.
Quickly detective Egan checked Ardana's breath and pulse, “He's alive.“
“I call an ambulance,” Detective Keiko said and immediately busy with his phone.
While the other three people who were in the coffee shop just fell silent as if they saw something that was very impressive that bellum they had seen before.
