Chapter 68. Thank You

Luke breathed heavily. He's seen footage from the hidden camera that Abigail used. Everything showed how Raline could act and speak out of control. Luke can still be thankful that Abigail did not take Raline's life.

Luke looked at Raline who was still unconscious. Then the man decided to go out and meet the Abigail Family and the Zee Family.

Grandpa Zico's disappointed gaze could already be Luke's prediction. He knew very well how close the Zee Family and the Li Family were. So when Raline uttered the inappropriate words about Abigail and her Family, there was nothing else Luke could do but surrender.

"Sorry." That's all Luke can say. He bowed his body to everyone in front of Raline's treatment room.

It sounded like Grandpa Zico was exhaling violently. The old man stood up to approach Master Luke who just lowered his head.

"I'm very disappointed." Grandpa Zico. His eyes stared at Luke. Zico Zee's heart seethed upon hearing Raline's words to Abigail through hidden camera footage.

"I know. Sorry." There are no other words Luke can say at this time.

Zico sighed. "We know you warned your daughter. We saw everything that happened that afternoon in front of the main office. Because Abigail came with me back then."

"It would be unfair to always blame you for your daughter's actions. Raline is an adult woman who can already bear the consequences of her own actions."

Zico started to soften. "This incident will have no effect on our cooperation. Don't worry."

Luke raised his head quickly, the man was stunned. His eyes daringly looked down at the look on the face of Great Lord Zico Zee. There was no lie in that look. Luke's heart throbbed pain.

The guilt grew more intense over Luke. The man held down his tears.

"I was a failed father." He nodded with a trembling voice.

Zico's grandfather was stunned to hear Luke's words in that stifled voice. Zico calmly approached Luke and led the man to sit on one of the long benches available.

While Abigail who had been silent immediately turned around left the crowd. He went to the hospital park which was not far from there.

Arriving at the park, he immediately chose a slightly hidden park bench and sat there.

"Bi, are you okay?"

Without even looking, Abigail knew who greeted her. Only Darren still called her Abi.

Abigail smiled faintly, she did not know how she was doing herself at the moment.

"I can't control myself." Abigail said, she no longer thinks the answer is relevant to Darren's question or not. Abigail only wanted to reveal what was in her heart.

Darren sat down beside Abigail and grabbed her lover's shoulder. Abigail leaned her head comfortably on Darren's shoulder, and her gaze looked blank looking ahead.

"I would do the same if I heard that." Darren.

Anyone would be hurt if they heard their family being demeaned. Especially if they died tragically. No one can accept if loved ones get harsh words.

"I almost killed him." Abigail was still struggling with her own thoughts.

"I will love you and marry you even if you do." Darren said without hesitation.

Abigail let out a small laugh hearing Darren's expression of heart. But after a moment his face returned sad.

"I feel sorry for Mr. Luke. He looks pretty smitten."

Darren sighed. "Yes, any parent would feel that way."

"And surprisingly, Mr. Luke's secretary called Grandpa after we got the news about the incident by the lake. The man boldly crossed his line to defend Mr. Luke, explaining Mr. Luke's position of not being involved with Raline's actions."

Abigail was interested, she straightened her body and looked at Darren seriously.

"He said, after the incident at the main office, Raline went home with Mr. Luke. But because of not accepting the rebuke of Mr. Luke even called his own father a coward, Raline was finally revealed on the side of the road."

"What?!" Abigail's eyes widened, as if she could not believe what she was hearing. "He's spying on his own father?"

Darren nodded. "He's a kid doesn't know himself."

Darren rubbed Abigail's back. "Come, go back inside. Stop feeling guilty. You taught Raline a lesson."

A few days later….

Abigail with Micah and Grandpa Zico entered Raline's treatment room. There was already Mr. Luke and his wife accompanying Raline.

"Good day." Greet Grandpa Zico.

"Good day." Mr. Luke stood up and shook Mr. Zico's hand, and his wife did the same.

Looking at Abigail who appeared behind Zico, Raline sat up straight with a face full of anger.

"You! What are you doing here?!" With a straight finger Raline snapped at Abigail.

"I just want to see the situation and wait for your apology?" Abigail replied casually.

"Haha." Raline laughed, but she looked sad. "You've already broken my face, and now you want me to apologize?"

Raline's face was filled with scratches as she entered into a thicket filled with thorns from a Venus kick. Some even leave a deep enough mark.

"You ruined my life! You're the carrier girl!.akkhhh!" Raline squealed in pain as she got a slap across her face.

"Ma.mama.." Raline looked at Mama with tears beginning to flow. He even began to feel pain because the wounds on his face became wet with tears.

Luke hugged his wife who was shaking with anger.

"I've never educated you to be this brash kid. I've always loved you, but you made my love a disaster." Said the woman with tears. "Mommy's disappointed in you, Raline."

Luke hugged his wife tightly, letting the woman who had been with him for decades shed all her grief and disappointment.

The atmosphere in Raline's treatment room was filled with sobs. Raline clenched her mouth with her hands. He was never treated harshly by his parents. And today, he could clearly see how their eyes were emitting hurt and disappointment.

Grandpa Zico turned around and looked at Micah and Abigail in turn. Through an eye gesture, the three agreed to step out and sit in a relaxing place provided by the hospital.

Abigail stood staring outwards through the glass wall that was in front of her. The rain started to fall.

"What are you thinking?" Micah stood beside Abigail while staring in curiosity.

Abigail took a deep breath and smiled faintly.

"If Grandpa, Papa and Mama were still alive, would they also be disappointed with all my actions?"

Micah blinked a few times, he did not expect that kind of thinking that was in Abigail's head.

"What have you done to disappoint them?"

Abigail pressed her shoulders. "Now, I don't know either."

Micah laughed a little. "So far the action that makes a headache is when you whine asking to be dropped in a mission when not long back. So well, I don't think it's going to be such a disappointed expression."

Both were silent for a moment.

"But Big Brother was also unsure, as the story would definitely be much different if they were still alive." Imbuh Micah with a sad look.

Abigail looked at Micah for a while with a smile, then hugged the woman from the side.

"I love Brother. Thank you for taking care of me, brother. Thank you." Thank you."
