ASSISTANT CULUN

ASSISTANT CULUN
Chapters 19. Nightmare

Darren smiled as he saw Abigail preparing her clothes. He looked at the girl's back with love.

"Pig."

"Yes." the girl immediately turned around.

Darren frowned, looking at the beautiful girl who was before him right now.

"Who are you?" asked Darren with his index finger pointing forward.

His eyes and manner of looking at him were the same, his height and posture were the same. But the face is much different.

Unknowingly Darren touched his chest. The Debaran he felt was the same as when he saw Abigail.

With eyes fixed on the girl in front of him, Darren stepped in to get closer. The girl's sweet smile rubbed on her until she unconsciously smiled.

Slowly Darren reached out to touch the girl's cheek. His hands felt the softness of the cheek skin that created a warm sigh throughout Darren's body.

Seeing the girl in front of him just keep quiet while returning her gaze, Darren grew bolder. His thumb rubbed those natural red lips that teased it.

"Abi, I love you." said Darren with a face that was getting closer.

Suddenly the situation around them became dark. Darren flinched, he looked around.

"Abigail." His hand was trying to reach the girl in front of him. Only the empty space is there.

"Abi?"

Darren stepped in here and there. He was even more astonished when his feet did not stumble or his body hit anything. As Darren remembered, he was in his room.

The young man continued to step inside the darkness until his stomach hit the iron fence. Darren stopped, he blinked a few times to adjust his eyes.

Darren hugged his body as he felt a gust of wind. And a moment later he could clearly see the situation around him.

His breathing was choked when he realized where he was at the moment. Balcony room in his old apartment.

Darren stared a little down, at the roof of the building that was right next to his apartment building. The distance between the two buildings is only about 4 meters.

Darren's eyes are perfectly rounded. In the middle of the roof of the building stood a woman in a bloodstained shirt. Even a knife was still stuck in his chest. The woman looked at Darren with sadness. Both corners of his eyes started to bleed. Even his chin and neck had been soaked with blood coming out of his mouth.

Slowly the woman walked until she reached the edge of the building. Fear ambushed when Darren saw the woman still walking towards him even though her legs were already floating in the air. Darren wanted to run away, but his legs could not be moved.

Cold sweat poured out, with all his might Darren tried to move dodging. But in vain, to just close his eyes he was not able to.

Those tiny, pale hands were stretched out. Darren saw that the blood-filled palm was about to cover his face.

Darren's chest rose and fell rapidly, his breath hunting. He tried to scream even though no sound came out. Suddenly he could move, his hands stretched forward trying to push the woman away. His body moved to the side very strongly.

"Akhh!!!"

Darren opened his eyes with a face of pain. The coldness of the room floor made Darren immediately aware. He groaned as he moved his body and sat down.

Darren leaned against the edge of the bed while rubbing his aching head from falling from the mattress. He had a nightmare about that woman.

☘️☘️☘️

Abigail frowned when she found Darren looking tired and even his face pale. He put down his bag and headed for the pantry. A few minutes later Abigail brought a glass of tea for Darren.

"Thank you Bi." said Darren sincerely as he patted the spot next to him.

Abigail hesitates, but Darren's harsh views make her unbearable. He immediately sat down next to Darren as the young man had asked.

"Darren?" Abigail was aghast as Darren suddenly placed his head on her shoulders. He also moved because of the uneasiness with Darren's spoiled attitude.

"Shut up Bi. Please just let me do this for a second. Please." ask Darren in a weak-sounding voice.

Abigail kept quiet, she complied with the young man's request. And then Darren moved, he put his head on Abigail's thigh.

"Some time ago I watched a woman get murdered" Darren said, closing his eyes.

"It was about 03:00 in the morning. I watched him get stabbed so many times on the roof of an empty building right next to my old apartment building."

Abigail already knew from the file she read while receiving the mission. And he didn't expect, Darren would tell him that.

"The apartment before this?" Abigail pretended to ask Darren not to be suspicious.

Darren shook his head slowly. "No, but the previous one again. I've twice moved apartments." the young man breathed heavily.

"I still vividly remember the logo on the killers' jackets." Darren continued with his eyes closed.

"Not reported to the police?"

"Already, but free. Even my friend's access on the force is closed."

Abigail fell silent, knowing that the case involving the family of this famous politician was not easy.

"My best friend who is investigating the case said the victim, whose identity was withheld, was the son-in-law of the candidate for president, the great politician, Mr. Robert de Lima."

"Even days later, my assistant died of an overdose."

"What connection?" Abigail frowning.

"He's clean Bi, we know him well. He must have been killed to threaten and intimidate me."

"Is this what makes you sleepless?"

Darren opened his eyes slowly and looked straight into Abigail's eyes. "No, last night I had a dream of that woman again. And this isn't the first time."

Abigail felt pity, without realizing her hand had been stretched out and rubbed Darren's head.

Darren chuckled at Abigail's opinion.

"One way, I'll be saved. But on the other hand, my career is coming to an end. Because once my family finds out about this, they'll pull me out of the entertainment world soon."

Abigail nodded her head. "That's what it looks like."

"I still want to be a singer" Darren said, closing his eyes. "I love this job."

Abigail did not respond, she just kept wiping Darren's head. Until finally he heard a soft snoring sound that indicated the young man had fallen asleep.

Slowly Abigail shifted and propped Darren's head up with a pillow. He stood up and looked at the young man for a moment.

"Handsome." said Abigail very slowly. Then he brought the tea that had been served back to the pantry.

The sound of the bell made Abigail rush to open the door.

"Good morning Abigail."

"Good morning Brother Trias." Abigail replied with a warm smile.

Trias handed me a small paper bag. "Replacement of your smartphone that was damaged by Dona's actions. The number is the same as yours."

"Oh my goodness, it doesn't need to be like this. I also plan to buy it today."

Trias shook his head slowly and smiled wryly. "We are guilty of provoking Dona. Please take it." pinta Trias.

Abigail accepted the paper bag despite her doubts. "Te.thank you Brother."

"I'm sorry to bother you" Trias replied as he patted Abigail's shoulder and headed for the living room. "Darren's sleeping?"

"Yes, he said all night he couldn't sleep."

Trias glanced at his watch for a moment and took a heavy breath. "Let's let him rest first."

☘️☘️☘️

By noon, Abigail, Trias and Darren arrived at Sky City. Despite the lack of rest, Darren can do everything that is well scheduled.

In the afternoon, when he was back in Darren's room, Trias suddenly got a call from a record company that had signed a deal with Darren.

Trias' gloomy face when the phone call ended made Abigail and Darren wary.

"They canceled the cooperation and are willing to pay the loss" Trias said slowly.

"Ap...what?!" Darren stood up and looked at Trias in disbelief. "What's the reason?"

"No particular reason." Trias laid his body on the sofa and covered his face with both hands.

"What else is this?!" furious Darren.  "Aarrgghhhh!!!" the young man pulled the hair with both of his hands as a form of venting disappointment.

Just as Abigail was about to speak, Roki suddenly opened the door.

"Abiiii, where the hell is it? Come quickly miss." Roki walked in just like that and pulled Abigail firmly. "Borrow Abigail first yes" he said again, I don't know who.

Finally Abigail followed Roki when there was no response from Trias or Darren.

☘️☘️☘️

After a few minutes of helping Roki, Abigail rushed back and found Trias standing in the middle of the room confused.

"What's up, brother?"

"Darren, he left quietly while I was in the toilet" Trias replied with a tired face. "Abigail, let's go find him. Darren was a witness to the murder, I'm afraid that…." Trias stopped his sentence and stiffened.

"I know, this morning before going to bed Darren told me about it." Abigail tried to calm Trias down.

Trias took a deep breath. "I don't know if it's good or bad. What's clear is now let's go look for him."

Afternoon to night Abigail and Trias go around looking for Darren to his favorite places. But the results are nil, Darren never found.

Trias massaged his temple. "If it had been like this he would have been at the club that night."

"Then let's go there."

Trias. "No. Just let him be, we better wait until he comes home" he said again while turning the direction back to Darren's apartment.

"really?"

"Yes, there's someone from his family" Trias replied, trying to calm down.

Upon arrival at Daren's apartment, Trias and Abigail await the arrival of the Singer with uncertain feelings.

Towards midnight, the sound of the bell made Abigail and Trias run open the door. The two are shocked to see Darren already at the door of the apartment along with Rosalin.

"Hi, I'm dropping off Darren. It seemed like he was heavily drunk." said Rosalin calmly.

"Thank you." Trias replaced Rosalin to take Darren. Then he led Darren back to his room.

Abigail squeaks when she sees Rosalin scanning Darren's temporary apartment.

"Thank you Miss." Abigail told Rosalin.

"I.iya, excuse me."

Abigail stared at Rosalin's departure with her brows furrowed. After closing the door, he immediately picked up his secret phone and called his sister.
