The Secret of Mirna's Past

The sun began to crawl into his quarrel. Leave the orange light, which gushed beautifully on the west side. The atmosphere of dusk is very beautiful, which he said can reconcile the heart of every person who looks at him. But in fact not, Andra's heart was still restless, even though he was staring at dusk, up to a few minutes.

Andra remembered her real father. He had been gone for so long, no news at all. Andra did not know what caused the divorce of her parents. All this time he always considered, if the fault was with his father.

But after seeing her mother in the hospital that night, Andra hesitated. Is it really the fault of his father ?

Or did his father leave, knowing his mother's behavior ?

For three days now, Andra has been avoiding her mother, she always leaves early in the morning, and comes home late at night. He also never visited Mr. Adit in the hospital.

His heart was still disappointed, for what they were doing behind his back.

Andra exhaled a rough breath, while still standing near the window of her room. His work was done, but he was still reluctant to leave this room. He was not ready to meet his mother.

Andra sat back in her chair, the twilight had begun to fade. It was getting darker, and the stars started blinking beautifully up there.

Andra was frowning her temples, confused was the one thing she felt at the moment.

"Should I ask Mama directly. But how to start it." murmured Andra in solitude.

While Andra was still raging with her heart. His phone suddenly rang. Andra glanced at me, it was her mother who called. Andra snorted in annoyance, and let her phone ring just like that. A few seconds later, his mother called back. And with a heavy heart Andra answered.

"Hallo Ma." greeted Andra lazily.

"Where are you, Ndra, can you go to the hospital now ?" mrs Mirna asked with a trembling voice.

"My work isn't done yet Ma" Andra replied lying.

"Can't you just stay Ndra. Adit's situation is deteriorating, he's critical now" Ms Mirna said.

Andra's throat seemed to be choked, after all the man had contributed a lot to her. Although he was very disappointed, but it was also impossible not to care about him.

"Well, I'll be there soon Ma." replied Andra.

"Mama wait here, Ndra's heart" said Ms. Mirna.

"Yes Ma." replied Andra as she ended her phone call.

"Hopefully nothing happened to Om Adit." muttered Andra as he grabbed his car keys, and hurried away.

A middle-aged woman was pacing back and forth in front of the ICU. Biting his fingers agitatedly. The woman is Miss Mirna, she is very worried about Mr. Adit, who is being critical. Although there are already several doctors who handle it, but still, the fear of the worst possibility, still stuck in his heart.

"Oh Allah, please save him" said Ms Mirna with glassy eyes. Her heart ached to remember all her stories with Adit. The only man who can steal his heart, but circumstances do not allow them to be together. Why is that feeling created, if it ends up being just tears ?

Why is it that only the rich deserve love ?

Ms. Mirna could no longer stem her tears, flashbacks of past memories, swirling in her brain. A marriage she never wanted. Marriage to someone she never loved. Ms. Mirna cried even more when she remembered how devastated Adit felt, when she found out she was pregnant.

Then Mirna sat down on the chair, and covered her face with her palms. How cruel he was to Adit, but he still loved him. Their feelings are so sincere, but why does God not give the opportunity to be together.

As Ms Mirna was crying sobbing, someone hugged her from the side.

"Don't cry Ma, we better pray, may Om Adit stay fine." said Andra as she hugged her mother, and rubbed her arms gently.

Although his heart was upset, he was deeply touched when he saw his mother crying alone. He knows how his mother feels right now, someone meaningful in her life, is struggling between life and death.

"Andra.." muttered Bu Mirna, releasing her embrace, and wiping her tears. He doesn't want, if Andra knows the secret.

"Andra already knows everything Ma." Andra said with a smile.

Miss Mirna gasped in shock, never expecting, if Andra already knew about the relationship.

"What do you mean Andra ?" asked Mirna nervously.

"Mama has a relationship with Om Adit. Honestly, Ma, I'm not angry." replied Andra. Maybe now is not the right time to ask about his father.

"I'm sorry Mama" said Ms. Mirna quietly.

"It's okay, Mama also deserves to be happy" said Andra while hugging her mother again.

Then they kept quiet, both Miss Mirna and Andra, no one opened their voices. Andra hugged her mother for a while.

And about an hour later, a doctor came out of the room.

Andra, and Miss Mirna came straight to him.

"How is the doctor ?" mrs Mirna asked with a very anxious look.

"Thank you doctor." said Ms. Mirna, breathing a sigh of relief.

"I'm happy to hear you're starting to improve. If you are healed, I promise to make you happy. All this time I've been hurting you a lot, but you're still holding on to your feelings. I'm sorry, I'm sorry Dit." said Ms. Mirna in her heart.

Then Andra, and Miss Mirna came into the room. There was a man lying weakly in bed. His eyes were tightly closed, and various aids were attached to his body.

"Chealing fast Om. If Om Adit is cured, I promise to approve Om Adit's relationship with Mama. I would, if it could make Mama happy." Andra said in her heart.

Miss Mirna stepped closer to Adit, she stood beside him, and grabbed his hand.

"You see, there's Andra here. Get well soon." muttered Bu Mirna in the heart while sticking Mr. Adit's hand on his cheek.

Andra looked at her mother with a smile. His attitude is so sincere, it is clear that he really loves Mr. Adit. Andra had never seen her mother that sincere to her father.

"If what you love is Om Adit, why did you marry Papa. What in the past, Mama has experienced a difficult position ya." murmured Andra in the heart.

Next day.

Mr. Adit's situation has improved. He is awake, and can talk. That's why Andra picked up his mother to come home, Andra did not want, if his mother fell ill because of fatigue to keep Mr. Adit.

Now Andra, and Miss Mirna are sitting together at the dinner table, they are having dinner together.

Andra ate her food while occasionally staring at her mother. Andra decided today that she would ask her mother, she could not allow herself to just guess, without knowing the real certainty.

"Ma.." call Andra when they've finished their meal.

"Why Ndra ?" mrs Mirna asked while looking at her son. It's not usually Andra this serious.

"May I ask about something Ma ?" andra asked doubtfully.

"Just ask, what do you want to ask ?" mrs Mirna replied with a smile.

"Since when have you had a relationship with Om Adit ?" ask Andra with a heart.

"It's quite a while." Miss Mirna replied briefly.

"What's it been since Papa was here ?" Andra asked again.

"What do you mean Andra ?" snarled Bu Mirna. His face turned tense.

"I'm sorry I just asked Ma. I just want to know why Papa left, and why Papa never loved me. It's impossible, Papa did all that for no reason" Andra said. Let her if her mother gets angry, she really wants to know about her father.

"So you blame Mama. You assume that if Papa you left, because Mama cheated on Adit, so. Yes Andra, you blame Mama." cried Miss Mirna standing up.

"Ma calm down, I asked nicely. I just want to know why. If the truth is not like that, Mama tell me dong, what the real incident is like. I'm an adult Ma, I also deserve to know." Andra said trying to calm her mother down.

"If you know the truth, then what can you do, huh ?" snarled Bu Mirna while still standing.

"Maybe I can't do what Ma. But at least I don't hate any of you, I honestly love you guys. I hope we can get together." Andra said slowly.

"Enough. Don't talk about togetherness anymore, you have enough Mama, don't expect Papa" said Ms. Mirna still in a high voice.

"Well, if Mama doesn't want to tell me the truth, I'm not forcing Ma. I hope Mama is always happy, even though I myself am not necessarily, will be happy or not." replied Andra as she moved from her seat. He was dead to hold his emotions, if he stayed there, surely in a matter of seconds, he would scream loudly while throwing any object, which was in front of him.

"Wait for Andra" said Ms. Mirna, as Andra had already stepped closer to the stairs.

Andra stopped her steps, but she did not look.

"If you want to know the truth, Mama will tell you everything" said Ms Mirna as she wiped her tears that began to flow. Remembering the past always made her cry.

"I married your father not out of love, but we were betrothed. Your father's parents needed a son-in-law, a woman who still kept her honor, and he chose Mama. While his parents Mama needed property to sustain the family's economy, and your father was a wealthy man. We marry under the coercion of our parents, you can imagine what it's like to live with someone we don't love" Ms Mirna said, staring at Andra. Andra remained silent in her place.

"We try to love each other, but we can't. And finally your father's attitude changed when he found his love. He no longer cares about Mama, and does not care about you. And he finally left. And when Mama was fragile, Adit came to encourage Mama. He is attentive, and cares for Mama. And we finally love each other. What's wrong Mama loves other people Andra, while your father has gone with his woman." continued Miss Mirna. But Andra did not answer a word.

"But your father was selfish, he didn't want to divorce Mama. That's why Mama can't marry Adit. You have to endure loneliness, forever. Now you can imagine how hurt Mama was, how ruined Mama's life was. You know, why Mama always demands you to be the best, because you're the only one Mama has. You are the only hope for Mama. And you blame Mama for that Andra. You don't know how hard it is to be Mama." cried Miss Mirna in tears.

Andra immediately turned her body, she approached her mother, and hugged her tightly. He did not expect, if his mother experienced such a difficult thing. He also carries a burden for his mother. His attitude has been really disappointing. If only he could do well, and behave like Ella, maybe his mother could be a little happy.

"Papa is very cruel. I will never forgive her." Andra growled in her heart.

Andra let her mother cry in her arms. He promised that from now on, he would always prioritize his mother. He will try his best to make her proud.

"I'm sorry Mama Ndra, Mama can't be completely honest with you. Mama doesn't want you to be disappointed, Mama doesn't want to lose you." Mommy Mirna murmured in her heart.
