Your Officemate's
58. Facing the Abbey

And that night, Erika really didn't come home. Johan allows Erika to stay with him for as long as she wants. Hans couldn't do anything but go home, the kids needed him.

"There's no Mommy, the house feels lonely." Abbey chirped as they ate dinner.

Hans did not answer, the food in front of him was bland. He doesn't know how to explain this to his kids. Looking at their innocent faces, for the umpteenth time, Hans was sorry.

"Daddy, when's Mommy coming home?" whinek Manda to Hans.

Hans looked at Manda with sadness. Manda used to tail her Mommy when she was at home, and now Erika is not around, of course she feels lost.

Not enough to get there, Hans was also dizzy because of Aaron's behavior. Indeed, a child under a year can not express feelings with words, but tonight Aaron is so restless. Trivial things can make him cry until the babysitter seems overwhelmed to calm him. Maybe she missed her mom.

"Daddy doesn't know yet." Hans replied at last.

"Why doesn't Daddy know? Daddy can call Mommy and ask when Mommy's coming home." Abbey protested.

Ck! Hans had no idea how Erika could be so patient in dealing with the babbling of their children. Moreover, the Abbey was absolutely critical, Hans was completely overwhelmed to answer every question Abbey.

"Yes, Daddy's gonna ask" Hans replied again. He did not want to extend Erika's discussion with her children.

"Why later? Daddy doesn't love Mommy anymore? Don't Daddy like dating Mommy the most?" ask Abbey again.

In a normal situation, Hans would have laughed at Abbey's question.

That's right, Abbey likes to call Erika and herself dating. He often found his Daddy and Mommy calling just to exchange news or just talk briefly in the middle of their activities throughout the day. They never lost contact before Clara.

Given all that, Hans missed his wife even more. Unfortunately, Hans did not dare to contact Erika first. Hans hesitated that Erika would pick up her phone at a time when her anger was mounting as it is today.

"Buffet... Daddy daydreams when he's spoken to." Abbey's voice roused me from daydreams.

Hans saw Abbey looking at him sharply while scowling with a look of annoyance. Oh, blimey! Hans didn't hear a single word of what the Abbey had said.

"So, I was talking about Daddy having to tell Mommy to come home tomorrow." Manda repeated the words Abbey.

Geez! Hans really felt very grateful that Manda saved him. Manda was so understanding, he knew that Abbey was already crashing and would not want to repeat the question again. So he was kind to his Daddy.

"Uuummm.sorry Daddy, don't know yet." I replied slightly stammered.

"Don't tell me Daddy and Mommy got into a fight!" Abbey said in a judgmental tone.

Abbey is very sensitive to the situation around her. If it's true that Mommy went out of town, her Daddy would easily be able to answer when Mommy would be home. Anyway, where ever his Daddy let Mommy go out of town by herself. Throughout Abbey's memory, NEVER.

DEG!!

Hans' heart was like it was about to be dislodged. Is that so obvious that Abbey can read it? Hans really raised his hand if he had to face the Abbey like this. He has not forgotten how Abbey once confronted Clara directly because of Clara's insensitivity to her.

"No, sweetheart. Daddy's the same Mommy's fine. Continue eating and don't talk much. It's not good to talk while eating." Hans tried to distract them.

In Hans's heart he prayed that no other question would corner him. He did not want to lie to his children, but on the other hand Hans realized that it was not good for children to know the problems of their parents.

Abbey is seen still not accepting, but she complies and finishes her meal without speaking.

It turned out that everything was not over for Hans, Aaron many times woke up and cried before really sleeping. No one could calm her down either Hans or the babysitter who used to help Erika take care of her. Aaron fell asleep from exhaustion crying. Hans was filled to see the face of his little whiz was puffy with the rest of the crying in his eyes.

After all, Aaron still needs a mother figure. And also Abbey and Manda. Ah no, this family needs Mommy Erika.

Hans really doesn't know how tomorrow, the day after tomorrow and the next day he's going through his life. Just one day Erika was not home, everything felt messy. The relentless Abbey and Manda ask, The fussy Aaron, not to mention Manda's busy day-to-day schedule.

And just now, the babysitter said that stock ASI for Aaron is almost gone. Hans ruffled his hair in frustration. Very surprising! How all this time Erika could organize all her activities so neatly.

Tok....

Tok....

This time, the sound of knocking sounded louder.

"Yeah?" Hans replied.

"Daddy, it's Abbey."

Duh! Hans felt he should have not answered and pretended to sleep. It was certain that Abbey was going after him, because at the dinner table earlier she had not received a satisfactory answer.

"Daddy?" shouting Abbey.

Hans exhaled violently, opening the door slowly - slowly. It really feels really bad when facing the probing gaze of a teenage girl who incidentally is her child.

The feeling that explodes - the explosion of a teenager could have scorched a guilty person like him.

"Daddy, I want to talk!" Abbey came in and sat on the bed.

Although in his heart Hans liked the decisiveness of Abbey, but for this case Hans really regretted it. Abbey's assertiveness, supported by sensitivity and criticism, would leave Hans skinned to the ground by his own son. With a heavy heart, Hans sat next to the Abbey.

Abbey shifted her seat to face Hans. Boldly, Abbey looked at Hans fixedly.

"Daddy, tell me what the hell is going on! I'm not the only Manda who just believes Mommy has something to do outside the city."

Straight and without doubt. Perhaps if this question were directed to someone else, Hans would be amazed. But if the question was directed at himself, Hans would prefer Abbey to be as quiet as Manda.

"Daddy? Any exploration? Why didn't Mommy come home?" asked Abbey sharply.

Oh No! Hans really didn't know what to answer.
