Your Officemate's
44. I Allow

Whatever the feeling is raging, the annual charity event that has been planned is inevitable. The charity event for nursing homes is still held according to the specified time.

Hans, Erika and her children remain with Johan's family. If only judging from the outward appearance, no one would guess that there was a tempest in their household. Everything seems completely normal. A good and friendly wife, and obedient children.

They share the task of handing over the parcel, and just have a light conversation with the residents of the home because usually the elderly are very happy to find a interlocutor.

Erika's eyes were on two elderly people sitting in the TV room. It seems they are pouring out hearts. Silence - Erika was listening to their conversation.

"If my husband were still alive, I would have been with him. He can't let me be lonely here. All this is because none of my children would support me" said a senior wearing a dark brown canal skirt.

"Heiii.I would rather stay here than live with my son. Don't burden our children, they have their own problems. Ye know? My son's husband has another woman, and I don't have the heart to watch him continue to be hurt." replied the second elder, who was sitting.

"you mean? Your son's husband is having an affair?" ask the first woman with a serious face.

"I told him, just leave the guy. But my son chose to give up. And the reason my son is for the sake of their children." The second grandmother continued their conversation.

"So you'd rather your son be separated?"

"His husband remarried, unbeknownst to my son. And my son can only cry every day. There's no way I'm adding to the burden of his mind. I have enough money and savings to support me in this home. Gathering with people my age, feels more fun." The second grandmother continued to tell stories without answering her friend's questions.

"If I were you, why don't you just take your son to live with you? Help him by looking after your grandson, then let him work."

The white-haired woman who was asked was silent and frowned, making the wrinkles on her face appear even more obvious. His eyes narrowed, and he said, "Have it, I don't know what kind of household they are living in. Let my son decide for himself. I just told him that you still have a mother, your place to go back to."

Without Erika realizing it, Hans was already standing next to her and also listened to the two grandmothers talk.

Erika turned her head as she felt someone grabbing her hand and grasping it tightly. The grip that used to always be able to warm his heart.

"Mommy, I'm sure your hope must be to age with your husband" Hans said quietly, and could only be heard by the two of them.

Erika did not respond, because she felt the words Hans did not need any response.

"Well, well, I'm so glad to see you guys. It looks very harmonious and harmonious. I'm sure you guys must be very happy." Grandma with the brown canal skirt greeted, then she walked slowly closer to them. His eyes twinkled at Hans and Erika.

The deg!

Whether this was innuendo or a slap or whatever it was, Erika and Hans' hearts were equally shaky.

Erika felt reprimanded like she was caught lying. He felt he had done the imaging, showing a picture of a happy family. But reality? No one knows.

As for Hans, he felt bothered by the Grandmother's words. Hans knew full well that his wife was just pretending that everything was okay. Yep. Deep in Erika's heart, she's not as happy as she seems.

Not wanting anyone to be able to read her grief, Erika immediately let go of Hans' grasp and helped the grandmother walk.

"Can I help you, ma'am? Do you want to eat? Or to the meeting room?" Erika smiled and asked gently.

Meanwhile, Hans was pensive as he looked at Erika's back who was walking away while guiding the Grandma earlier.

That night when Erika was doing routine night care. Hans approached Erika, looking at her wife's face reflected in the mirror. His palm was placed on Erika's boat.

"Mommy, if one day you can't stand me, then go to Johan."

"What does he mean, he wants to return me to my brother?"

There was no reply from Erika, her heart was heartbroken. His hands still continue to apply the serum and facial cream, then continued by patting his cheeks gently. But his mind and heart had drifted somewhere.

"I thought about the words grandma said at the parlour earlier..." Hans hung up his sentence.

"What do you think the boy should do?" Hans continued his sentence with a question.

"Kids? Grandma mean?"

"I mean the grandmother's son, Moms. What should she do if she finds out her husband has another woman?"

Grieved, that was how Erika felt at this moment. Didn't yesterday - yesterday Erika also asked Hans almost the same question? And now, that question was returned to him. Erika herself does not know the answer.

The atmosphere was silent for a while, until Erika strengthened her heart to ask back.

"What do you think is best for their children?"

Hans exhaled while hearing the counterattack from Erika. Hans walked to the sofa in the corner of their room, then threw his body there.

It felt so silly, asking each other questions as if talking about someone else. They are not talking about anyone, but about their own relationship. Questions were answered with questions, neither Hans nor Erika got the right answers.

"Alright, alright. Last question, what do you do if your husband remarries?"

"Eh?" Erika's heart melos.

Hans himself was no less surprised to hear his own question. Her little heart cursed itself which again - again hurt Erika.

"Is that what you want, brother?" Erika turned from the mirror, her eyes staring pushyly at Hans.

"Oh.em, that's not what I meant." Hans stuttered a little.

Erika's question was absolutely crushing, plunging right into Hans' heart.

"Something that is spoken first and done spontaneously is usually a spark of the true heart, sister." said Erika calm down, this time she had managed to control herself.

"I just want to know what you think, would you allow your husband to remarry?"

With impediment, Hans made the question clear. Today he is determined to solve all the problems he has made.

"I'll let you."

Erika's answer sounded so calm. Even impressed too calm, there was not the slightest turmoil in Erika's tone. Until Hans shuddered in horror, it felt as if Erika's calmness would drown him.

"As long as being with him makes you better than being with me. As long as you're happy, I'm sincere. I let you marry again." Erika repeated the words - she said, accompanied by a smile.

Haduuuh. I really can't bear to write about Erika in this part. 😭😭😭

He looks strong on the outside, but crushed inside.

Huhuhoo....
