4. Trust You

Erika stared at the scene before her with an unpredictable gaze. His face showed more than one expression. Angry, not sincere, and confused. That feeling was now mixed in his heart.

Hans comes to Evan's funeral accompanied by Erika. And what happened there really made Erika upset.

Erika was angry when she saw Clara scattering towards Hans, and immediately cried bitterly to Hans' chest. She also did not sincerely see her husband being hugged by another woman.

Once again, Erika understood even very well. It's a sad mood. The death of Evan must have left a deep sadness in Clara's heart. Clara could have been too carried away, so she was out of control. But still, Erika's heart was not willing to see another woman in her husband's arms.

Honestly, Hans himself was quite surprised to see Clara's reaction when he met her. She never expected Clara to cry as much as she could. It seemed like he had forgotten that there was his family, Evan's family as well as many others there.

Hans drove his car home. Erika did not seem to want to make a sound. His eyes were straight on the street and silent.

"It's not like you think, Moms." Hans finally spoke first.

However, Hans realized that no woman would like her husband to be close to another woman. Especially looking in front of the eyes, her husband hugged another woman. It must be very unpleasant.

Erika. He did not answer directly.

"Tell me how you got along with her, brother."

Hans was silent for a moment.

"Which relationship? We have nothing to do." he asked later.

"Everything. I want to know how much you have to work together during the office. How often do you meet. And how was your interaction with him?" Erika explained.

Hans sighed and thought about where to start. He felt there was nothing special about Clara. Their relationship is ordinary - ordinary. Just a co-worker.

Hans recounted that their interactions should have been very rare, given their vastly different positions. Clara is a marketing staff member, while Hans is Assistant Director.

However, behind his appearance that impressed glamour and spoiled, it turns out Clara is good at winning big projects. Therefore, Clara often discussed with Hans. Both when asking for an approval signature, as well as just a price deal.

Until the last, Hans told how Clara's attitude toward men was arguably a bit too "free". And maybe hugging like that was a common thing in the association of Clara and her circle.

From the way Hans told the story, Erika could feel the honesty there. All right, Erika understands. Let's just say it was an accident. For Hans, the young woman was just an asset of the company. Young and talented employees.

Hans finished the story about Clara. Both were quiet for a long time.

"Mom, even if I treat her well. It's just appreciation. Not less. Nothing more." Hans' voice sounded soft.

Erika looked at Hans deeply, trying to find some seriousness inside.

"Sorry, if you're uncomfortable with the situation" Hans said sincerely.

Not wanting to prolong the matter, Erika smiled.

"I understand. It's not all Hans' fault. The situation is indeed not possible to get away." he replied while laughing softly, trying to melt the atmosphere.

Hans was relieved to hear Erika's laughter.

"It's lunch time, we eat first" Hans said as he turned his car around and stopped at Erika's favorite restaurant.

They both got out of the car. When viewed from afar, they look so harmonious and friendly.

Ten years of marriage and fourteen years of knowing each other, not to melt their affection. Hands entering the restaurant.

While ordering food, Hans silently watched Erika's face. It seems Erika has managed to neutralize her feelings.

As usual, Erika always gave up on Hans more. Given all that, Hans' heart warmed. He held Erika's hand gently, then looked warmly at Erika.

Erika raised her head.

"Mom, keep my promise. I'll never leave you and the kids."

Seeing the earnestness in Hans' eyes, Erika's heart was cold.

"I know...."

"Whatever I do, all the best for the company. You know for yourself, how loyal I am to the company, right?" hans again.

Erika smiled sweetly with a sincere face answering

"I trust you."

Let him believe Hans this time. In fact, Hans did not return Clara's embrace. Erika's hope is enough here and there will be no more cases - cases that make her misunderstand again.
