"Enough, Mas Adit. Don't waste energy on a bastard like him!" my hatch prevents fights.
Mas Adit took Deni off. While Deni flicked his hand that was in the grip of Mas Adit as if shaking dirt.
"According to my advice, Lan! I'm always there for you" Deni casually said then passed.
I immediately drove Mas Adit home, because it was almost night.
The next day at seven in the morning I had already left for the project. I told you about the problem that happened to Bune. Before leaving, Bune had 5 boxes of brownies and a cup of chamomile tea.
"To entertain 'guests' who would come. The rest is to be shared with project workers" Bune said when packing the brownie boxes.
Guests want to make trouble, why entertain! I thought I was worried at the time.
Arriving at the project, five people seemed to be waiting. The project workers have been prohibited from doing any work during the deliberations.
Among the five people, of course there is Mr. Naryo. I'm sure the originator of the demo idea was Mr. Naryo and was accommodated by Mr. Darma. You sneaky humans.
Mas Adit showed up shortly after my arrival. He took five plastic chairs into the office.
"The cooker will be told to stand" so muttered Mas Adit answered my eyes.
After I prepared the brownie pieces on the table and also the chamomile tea in the disposable cups, I let the "guests" into the office.
"So what is your guidance to us?" ask me without making small talk.
"While enjoyed, sir, Mas, the treat" Mas Adit chimed in.
"Please read it" Mr. Naryo said as he handed a piece of paper to me.
I read the paper along with Mas Adit.
...STATEMENT LETTER...
We as residents of Karang Gayam Village (hereinafter called the First Party) strongly reject the construction of a new factory fronted by Wulan Febriana Lestari (hereinafter referred to as the Second Party). The reasons for our refusal are as follows :
1. Companies that are in this stage of development are foreign companies that only absorb outside power without giving the opportunity to local residents to contribute.
2. Waste produced by the factory can pollute the surrounding environment which can affect the health of the soil and springs of residents of Karang Gayam Village.
3. The First Party reportedly refused the levy in all forms.
The First Party is willing to withdraw its refusal, if the Second Party is willing to grant all demands from the First Party. These demands include :
1. 80% of new factory employees must be from the First Party.
2. No liquid waste should be disposed of by the Second Party in the Karang Gayam Village environment.
3. All reprocessable solid waste must be submitted to the First Party (submitted, not purchased)
4. The Second Party shall submit dues to the First Party of 5% of the monthly profits generated by the Second Party.
This statement is made for approval.
The First Second Party
(F.L.Wulan) (Gayam Coral Village)
"This robbery is called!" I growled after I finished reading the paper.
Mas Adit calmed me down by gently stroking my shoulder. I shivered it made.
Mr. Naryo seemed to smile with satisfaction at my anger. While the other four people showed a haughty and fierce expression.
"Not negotiable the demands, sir?" ask Mas Adit calmly.
"It's a unanimous decision!" replied Mr. Naryo ketus.
"And if it cannot be negotiated together, we will be forced to go through the law. Bu Wulan's company has reliable legal powers. Problems like this have become a daily food for the legal team of PT. Textile Globalindo" said Mas Adit still calmly despite the firmness in his voice.
"So you threatened?" said Mr. Naryo with a huff.
"It's not threatening sir, but I'm trying to make a deal" Mas Adit replied.
I was impressed with the way Mas Adit negotiated. The five people thought hard. Apparently the threat of Mas Adit was really considered by them.
"Well, then what's your offer?" ask Pak Naryo haughty.
"Please, Miss Wulan. The time and place I give it to" seloroh Mas Adit.
"First, I explain that the reasons for your rejection of the establishment of this factory are completely unfounded. Our company opens up an equal opportunity for anyone to join us. Only one condition, good skill. Both soft skills and hard skills" I explained my opinion.
"Ah, don't you know that we're doing that! We want to be obeyed" said Mr. Naryo riled.
"Please continue, ma'am" said a young man. This young man seemed more able to be discussed.
"Thank you, Mum. Next is the problem of 'upeti'" I said while making quotes on the word 'upeti'
"Our company never refused to give 'tribute' wherever we set up the factory. It is common knowledge that 'upeti' is a matter of sunnah for the smooth running of our production process. I call it the Sunnah because there are no written rules on the matter. But it's good if we do"
"Three waste issues. You need to know, this factory is specifically planned to produce shirts and non washing. So there will be no liquid waste in the process. There is only scrap, which comes from the rest of the pieces of fabric"
"Until here is understandable, sir?" I asked to end my explanation.
They look mangosteen, except for Mr. Naryo who looks scowled. My explanation refutes all of his accusations.
"For your demands, everything is completely absurd. Please calculate it yourself. Our factory will operate 24 hours/7 days with shift system and striped overtime. It is estimated to absorb 1000 more labor, and you ask for a quota of at least 800 people? Does that make sense?"
"The problem of scrap submission. Per day from scrap sales we can get 2-4 million. A month? 60-120 million! You're planning to rob it like that"
"And the most ridiculous is the tribute of 5% of the profits the company makes. Do you all think this is a retail factory with a profit of 5-10 million per month? This is a big factory, sir! Not only local needs, we also meet export needs. Net monthly profit of at least 15-20 billion. And you want the 5? Are you being funny?" I was obviously at length with fire.
During my explanation, Mas Adit repeatedly stroked my shoulders trying to calm down. But I don't care about the goosebumps that are hurting me.
"Whatever! We want our demands to be met! If not, please raise your legs!" said Mr. Naryo while pounding the table.
The other four looked confused. They were shocked by the things that Wulan presented. Didn't expect such a large factory to be built in their village.
"I'll make a more reasonable offer. The point is a deal that will benefit both sides. Not the next weight"
"Now let me think first" I said, then returned to my desk.
The five of them seemed to be whispering to each other. Discuss new information they receive. Apparently they were amazed at all the amount I described.
"Good, Mom. Then we will think again how to be balanced" said the young man who seemed more able to be invited to discuss. The young man did not care for Pak Naryo's expression which looked frowning.
"We'll excuse you. Tomorrow we discuss this issue again" said the father who sat on the left side of Mr. Naryo.
I just nodded. Mas Adit escorted the departure of the 'guests' to the front door of the office.
"Patience, Lan. Facing people like that we have to have buoys. Like we are swimming in a river with a swift current. We have to go with the flow so as not to exhaust. But we also hold the buoy so as not to drown" Mas Adit said calmly.
"Their demands really don't make sense, Mom!" my growl.
"Yes, but te.." Mas Adit's speech was cut off by a knock on the door.
Mas Adit opened the door and it appeared that three people dressed in brown service entered the room.
"Yes, Sir?" ask them while greeting them one by one.
"It is with great regret that we convey that the construction process must stop!" said one person with the name tag "Subandi" attached to his left chest.
Wulan was surprised by the person's words. One problem is not finished, why do the other problems arise? batin Wulan.
