Wulan In Night Wound

Wulan In Night Wound
Chapter 32 The New Routine

The conversation between the three of us ended with the completion of breakfast. I cleaned the dining table, while Pakne and Bune returned to the meatball stall to prepare to open the stall.

After washing the dishes, I went back to my room. Tidying up for a while, then locking it up because I'll leave it to help out at the stall.

On the way down, I noticed the layout of this boarding house. When climbing the stairs, the layout of the room looks "U". This house faces west. On the east side opposite the stairs there are three bathrooms, a kitchen, and a small room with no doors to store tools and tools for cleaning. Half of the north side is left empty and without a roof, only in the form of cement castings and equipped with a clothesline that extends almost 10 meters as long as five titles. Next to the sun, there are 4 rooms. Then in the row of the south side there are boarding rooms as many as 8 rooms that hear the size of the room 4x5 meters. My room is on the south side, closest to the stairs.

Downstairs, once inside from the front door, is an L-shaped sofa with a medium-sized circle table. Between the living room and the boarding rooms are blocked by a wall with a sliding door at the end. If there are no guests, often sliding doors are left open. Once through the sliding door, there are boarding rooms that extend face to face on the north and south sides, each as many as 7 rooms. One room located at the end of the row on the north side is the landlady room, aka Pakne and Bune. At the east end of the first floor there is a kitchen, directly with the dining table. Next to the kitchen is a bathroom, then a laundry room. The laundry room has no walls and doors on the front, equipped with a washing machine and portable clothesline large and small each one.

After observing for a moment the design of this boarding house I was amazed, there were so many rooms. And indeed these boarding houses are very large, more suitable to be called lodging if there is no landlady. My accounting brain thinks, how much income per month from the room rented. Pakne and Bune seemed to be from a family of being, but their appearance looked very simple and uneasy. I laughed to myself thinking about Pakne's income from the boarding room rental.

I went to the meatball stall to help sell at the stall. The shop opens at 10:00 and closes at 22:00 or below if it runs out before that time.

Bune was wiping the bowls of meatballs when I arrived at the stall. While the fragrant meatballs smell from the kitchen. I saw Pakne concocting something in the kitchen.

"Bune, I'll continue? Bune can help Pakne in the kitchen. Let me take care of it" I bargained with Bune from behind his body.

Bune's a little jumped. "Oh, surprise Bune, Nduk! Kowe iki, ngageti. Luckily bangkok-e ora ceblok. Bune again nglamun, eat ga weruh nek your mlebu" said Bune grunt. Apparently Bune and Pakne would reflexively use Javanese when upset or joking.

(Oh, surprise Bune, Nduk! You are, just surprised. Fortunately the bowl did not fall. Bune's daydreaming again, so don't know when you enter)

"Haha. Sorry Bune. Daydreaming what the hell, Bune? I didn't realize anyone was entering. Fortunately it was not the thief who entered. Don't get used to it, Bune" I said.

"Nglamunin would like to nimang grandson, Nduk. Bune is so happy to taste" replied the flowery Bune.

"Later out Maghrib I want to go to the obstetrician yes, Bune. Sorry later can not help, usually at that hour 'kan quite crowded stall"

"It's okay, Nduk. Don't be too tired either. Your pregnancy is still very young. Afraid that something might happen" Bune said, in turn advising me.

"Ga's tired, Bune. Wulan is resilient, has been trained since childhood" I said while lifting one arm, posing like Popeye the Sailor.

"If so, please. Bune help Pakne in the kitchen first"

I continued Bune's work. After wiping the bowls, glasses, forks and spoons I continued to clean the tables and chairs and arrange chili-sauce-kap-vinegar on each table. Then sweep and mop the floor.

At ten o'clock exactly the stall is open. Not long after the customers came one by one. Approaching lunch time, the stalls are getting crowded. I was thinking, it's appropriate that Pakne Bune intends to find employees. Actually Pakne once had an employee, but a week ago quit. Reasons to quit out of shame. I was surprised when Bune told me that.

"Why are you ashamed, Bune? Embarrassed because his job was just as a handyman in a stall?" much

"No, Nduk. Shame for stealing. When Pakne is busy in the kitchen, Bune is there need at home. Practically only he guards. Actually Pakne did not fire the employee, and gave a second chance. With the promise that he will not repeat the deed. But three days after the incident, he suddenly asked for permission to resign. Embarrassed he said, Pakne and Bune still treat him well even though he has made a big mistake" Bune told me.

I was amazed and surprised to hear Bune's words. I am amazed that there are still such good people like them in this world. Surprised because it was so good, Pakne and Bune could be categorized as naive people. Believe that everyone is actually good. I pray that the kindness of Pakne and Bune will not be abused by others.

Helping out at the "Barokah Meatball" stall was a lot of fun for me. It makes me feel bored and forget my sadness. By three o'clock in the afternoon, I decided to go home because I wanted to clean up and then go to the obstetrician.

I saw Adzan Maghrib as I came out of the bathroom. I entered the room and pegged myself in front of the small mirror in the room. I used ⅞ size milk-brown material pants and a pair of plain dark brown flat shoes. While the boss I only wear high-collared shirts long sleeves gray color. I pony up my waist hair, groom my hair everyday.

I took the motor out of the garage. Large garage, enough for 15 motors or 5 cars. Still empty, because the residents are mostly still in their respective hometowns to enjoy the holidays. I stopped by the shop to say goodbye. Seen in the stalls quite crowded atmosphere, the table is almost filled all.

I hesitated to leave the stall in a crowded condition and intended to postpone a visit to the obstetrician, but Bune insisted that I keep going.

"His doctor's practice name is 'Dr. Ibrahim Hadiningrat, SPoG'. Ask if in doubt, Nduk" Bune told me.

"Yes, Bune. I'll take a minute, yes"

Pakne simply nodded and smiled in response. I drove my bike slowly, afraid of being missed. My feelings are not out of whack. Happy and worried. Glad to have my baby's condition checked. Worried because this was the first time I went to the gynecologist.

Are you healthy in here, son? I hold my stomach while holding my stomach.

Not anything Wulan already feels affection for the baby she contains. The baby he had previously considered a disaster and did not want. The maternal instinct had already taken over Wulan's feelings completely when she decided to give birth to a child in her womb.
