Big secret

"Zoe, Alden it's your brother."

Deg. Zoe froze in place. Zoe's hearing is still good. He couldn't have heard wrongly because Steve said in a loud voice.

"Dad, is Dad another prank?" zoe said in a choked voice. He didn't believe her joke at all.

"No. Dad's serious." Steve pulled out a box full of pictures of Mira. He asks Sam to take a picture of Alden as a child. Sam is forced to obey Steve because Steve forces him day and night until the Doctor is bored.

"This is Dad's girlfriend. Dad made a mistake, so she got pregnant. But Dad didn't want responsibility and married your Mommy." Steve tries to explain his past in detail.

"Then, Alden.."

"Yes, he's Mira's son. Mira gives Alden to be Ben Sebastian's son."

"It's not possible, Dad." Zoe shook her head in surprise. He was still digesting Steve's words. But, if in the ranks right, little Alden is similar to Steve.

"Zo, therefore do not approach Alden" said Steve with regret.

"Dad, why is it like this?" Zoe started crying.

Steve held Zoe's hand. Everything is his fault. But time cannot be repeated. Steve has lost Mira and Mommy Zoe. Now it's just Alden and Zoe. Steve really hopes that his two children can accept this situation and can also take care of each other. Steve knows he won't be around much longer. He already had many complications of the disease. So he didn't want to expect too much.

"Zoe, I'm sorry Dad. Dad has to tell you this, before it's too late."

"Did Alden know?" zoe asked after she calmed down. Steve deserves to be so kind to Alden. He saw the difference in Alden's treatment with other employees. Like Indomie, Alden is special with corned beef and eggs.

"Yet. Dad's afraid Alden can't accept this." Steve's voice was shaking. At night he thought of Alden. All he had in his brain was Alden. Steve threw a party yesterday, actually for Alden. Had Alden known, Steve would have been so happy.

"Zoe can't accept this either, Dad."

"Yes, Dad knows it's heavy. You just met Alden and you like him too. But, try to be a good sister."

Zoe hush. He listened to Steve. All this time he was always lonely at home because there was no brother or sister. But when Steve says that Zoe has an older brother, Zoe is not happy.

"Zo. one more.."

"Dad... What else is Dad hiding?" whine Zoe. He was already unable to know the big secret anymore. I think Zoe is angry with Steve. But looking at the man who was also about to cry, Zoe tried her hardest to hold back her emotions.

"Please help Alden find Valen."

"Valen?"

"Yes, Valen's sick. But her parents hid Valen. Who knows, you might find information about it. You're Valen's best friend."

"Zoe doesn't want to, Dad." Zoe blatantly refused. "If Zoe can't, get Alden, then Valen can't get it either."

"Zoe!" snapped Steve. Steve who had been holding his chest in pain this time could not hold it anymore. "Hurry up and call Dr. Lucas." Steve said while looking for the cure in the desk drawer.

"Dok, please come home now. Dad's sick. Quick." he said unclear.

"Aldeeeeeeee!" yell after hanging up the phone.

Steve who heard Zoe calling Alden immediately stopped looking for a cure. Steve turned to the photos at the table. Steve collected the photo and inserted it carelessly into his drawer.

Just as Alden came in, Steve finally fainted.

"Why Mr Steve?" Alden checked Steve immediately. He held a pulse in Steve's hand and checked the breath in his nose. His pulse is so weak.

"We'll take it to the doctor now."

Alden took Steve out of his room, followed by Zoe in the back.

Lucas's doctor explained that Steve had a mild heart attack. He called Samuel and asked Alden-Zoe to keep Steve in the VIP room.

Throughout the journey, Zoe never stopped crying. He was sorry that Steve was like this after hearing his words. Zoe should have just accepted Steve's request.

"Miss, it's quiet. Sam's the best heart doctor." comforted Alden.

"Den," Zoe hugged Alden who was beside her. "I'm afraid Dad is okay" Zoe said as she pleased.

Alden initially wanted to get Zoe out of his body. But, he undoes his intentions when he sees Steve lying weakly in bed. Zoe must be freaking out because Steve is the only family she has. Alden understood Zoe's fear. It was just like how he felt when he lost Mira.

"Ehem."

Deheman's voice made Alden look back. Sam was already standing behind him with a hard-to-understand look. But Sam doesn't talk much. He focuses on checking on Steve and decides not to comment on Alden hugging Zoe.

"Patients should rest completely and do not take care of a lot of work. Also take care of your diet. He must be like this for eating carelessly." Sam told Zoe after checking Steve's condition.

Zoe let go of his embrace. He only realized there was someone else in the room besides himself and Alden.

"Good Doc. Thank you." said Zoe to Sam who looked at her with a cynical look.

Sam wanted to quickly pass from before them. When Doctor Lucas told him that Steve was sick and, to be checked, Sam didn't want to go. But, Sam must be professional and must not mix his personal affairs with work.

"Sam, wait." intercept Alden.
