Reasons work

Alden's running the car. He repeatedly looked at Valen who was still glaring from Alden. Valen just stared out the window without any intention of looking at Alden.

"Why do you work? Who told you to work?" Alden finally started the debate again.

"I just want to help you" Valen replied softly.

"Have you been short of food all this time?" asked Alden in a cynical tone.

"It's not just about food, Den. You didn't hear me, the doctor said I should take vitamins. And I also have to think about this kid's savings going forward. Your salary's not enough, Den." Valen finally looked at Alden. He spoke with a little emotion.

"Valen, until when did you trample on my pride?" said Alden did not accept.

"Who insulted you, Den?" "That's reality!" "I just want to help you make money so we can cooperate." Valen yelled no less emotionally.

"You always act as you please, Val. You should have asked me for permission."

"Are you going to let me say I want to work?" Valen asked back.

"Or don't you want to work because you want to be noticed by that man!"

"If it is, why?" challenge Valen.

'Ciiiiiiit'

Alden brakes his car suddenly, causing Valen to hit the dashboard.

Valen who had been trying to hold back his tears, ended up crying as well. He was holding his sick forehead.

"Val, sorry." said Alden while fingering Valen's reddened forehead. He regretted that he had hurt Valen again.

"Go away, don't mind me." Valen brushed Alden's hand off. He wiped his tears, then fell silent a thousand languages while looking at the window again. This time Valen's heart was so hurt. Whatever he did would go wrong in Alden's eyes.

Not much different from Valen, Alden also thought the same. He did everything for Valen. Even this month Alden tried to find another job better than being a bartender. But, since Alden had no work experience in the office, they were also hesitant to accept Alden.

Alden's been in a crisis taking confidence. She was a little depressed due to work issues, and maybe this was what might have provoked her emotions back. Moreover, Alden saw Valen with Jason.

"Valent! why did you lock the door." cried Alden while banging on the door.

"I want to be alone." Valen replied by shouting as well.

Alden was only able to sigh violently. He sat on the sofa while peeking at the base of his nose.

If you're at the club, Alden will be drinking whisky soon. But this time Alden had to use his brain. Alden had to find another job whose salary was also quite large, to support Valen and his son later.

Meanwhile, Valen again cried.He covered his face with a pillow because he did not want the sound of his crying heard by Alden.

Alden is outrageous. Why is the man insensitive if the woman has many needs. Even so, Valen has put the brakes on his desire by not shopping for items that are too expensive.

Valen's phone rings. Valen opened the pillow, then picked up the bag lying on the floor. He was looking for his phone, but didn't see it either. Valen finally pulled out all the contents of his bag until the phone fell from the inside.

Jason called. The man must have been surprised to hear Valen was married and would have had children.

Valen took a deep breath before pressing the green button.

"Hello, Jas.. Sorry.. Now I can't explain, but please don't fire me." Valen asked.

No sound from the other end.

"Jas, I've been trying to explain to you. But, you always avoid when I talk about status." continued Valen again.

"Val..are you crying?" Jason instead answered what Valen had said, but he changed the subject.

"No, Jas." Since marriage, Valen has been good at lying. He was forced to lie because he hated to admit his weakness and was pitied by others.

"Don't lie, Val." "I know you." "We're talking about when you've calmed down, right?" jason said softly.

Valen. He forgets that they're only on the phone, so Jason can't see what Valen's doing.

"Tomorrow you'll rest, Val." "I'm waiting for you on Monday."

"Jas, thank you. You are indeed a good friend." Valen said gratefully.

"See you on Monday, Mrs Sebastian."

Jason calls Valen with Mrs Sebastian. That means Jason knows Valen's status. Valen was much more relieved because at least Jason would definitely give up and understand his position.
