The Musi Corporation Charitable Foundation

Musi Corporation besides being a top company in Indonesia, is also known to have a Charitable Foundation that helps many people in Indonesia.

The Foundation Amal Musi Corporation is headed by Bunda Aisyah Ismail who is the mother of Ustadz Hanafi.

Musi Corporation's Charitable Foundation is known to do many humanitarian activities.

At the time of natural disasters in an area, the Amal Foundation led by Mother Aisyah is always in the leading position in providing assistance.

The main sources of Foundation funds come from infaq, zakat and alms from Musi Corporation employees at all levels.

In addition, the Foundation's income is derived from the rent of some commercial buildings that they own.

This commercial building is the endowment of Mr. Malik Abdullah as the main commissioner of Musi Corporation, which consists of hundreds of shophouses located in Jabodetabek, Surabaya, Semarang, Medan and Palembang.

The Foundation's social activities are not only during natural disasters, they also have regular programs.

On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, the foundation distributes around 50,000 packaged rice to the dhuafa.

This wrap rice is usually distributed around 9 am until before I call the Friday prayer or dzuhur prayer.

The dhuafa who received the aid had been recorded in advance, and they just took the rice packs in public kitchen tents that were set up.

Every month the Foundation also holds a cheap market event and free treatment for underprivileged people.

Just like the distribution of packaged rice, the beneficiaries are already in the previous data. Those who have been clarified, will be given a beneficiary card.

While every 6 months, the Musi Corporation Charitable Foundation holds a mass wedding and circumcision event for free.

The Musi Corporation Charitable Foundation also has a student duty program for families who cannot afford it. Student duties are given from the primary education level to the college level.

The Pesantren Manula Program

In her daily life in addition to busy managing the Corporate Charity Foundation, Bunda Aisyah Ismail also works as a college lecturer in Jakarta.

Because of this busyness, then Mother Ayesha Ismail attracted one of her nephews named Nadia as a staff at the Charity Foundation.

Nadia is the daughter of Kiai Abdullah Ismail, uncle of Ustadz Hanafi who is the nanny of Pesantren Al Mansyur in Surabaya.

When Ustadz Hanafi was still in Surabaya, Nadia his cousin helped him a lot in managing the property business he owned.

In property affairs, it is indeed a field that is cultivated by Nadia. This is because Nadia is an alumnus of Civil Engineering Universitas Airlangga Surabaya.

At first Nadia will be withdrawn to the property division of Musi Corporation, but then the plan changed due to the request of Mother Aisyah Ismail.

According to Mother Aisyah, Nadia should first adapt to the company atmosphere, and also help her work at the Corporate Charity Foundation.

At the Foundation, Nadia was placed in the planning part of the activity program. One of his proposals that is quite interesting is the establishment of pesantren for seniors.

In the program, seniors (aged people) aged 70 years and over, will get religious education for free. Not only that, the cost of his life while in the cottage was also borne by the Foundation.

According to Nadia, this elderly boarding program will bring many benefits, one of which from the elderly themselves can concentrate more on carrying out worship in old age.

The Manula Pesantren program will work with Pondok Pesantren Al Mansyur as a teaching staff provider, and several health institutions as nurses.

Pros and Cons

When the Pesantren Manula program began to run, many parties gave appreciation in the form of moral support to funding assistance.

In the early stages, the Pesantren Manula received only 500 people, most of whom lived alone because their life partner had died.

They were placed in a house not far from the mosque and health clinic.

Their activities have started to stretch since the dawn of time. After dawn prayers, these elders get breakfast and then continue to learn about religion.

Activities at the mosque continued until the end of lunch. After lunch and dzuhur prayer, these elders were allowed to rest.

The activity again took place at the mosque before the Maghrib Prayer for dinner together, and only ended after performing the Isyak Prayer.

After the Isayak Prayer, these elders return to their homes to rest and will return to the mosque before the dawn prayer the next day.

The Manula Pesantren program then became the talk of the general public, after several mass media covered and reported it.

The talk about the Manula Pesantren is also viral in cyberspace. Although many parties support his presence, there are also some people who do not agree.

According to those who are cons, the existence of pesantren seniors can open up a person's opportunity to run from responsibility, namely caring for both parents who are old.

They also say, very bad if someone forgets both parents. This is because, caring for parents is the door to get heaven.

Then they quoted the hadith narrated by Tirmidhi, which read:

"Old people are the best doors of heaven. You can waste that door or you can take care of it."

According to them the meaning of the word ‘best’ shows how important it is to do good and filial to parents.

In addition, there are several other priorities that can be obtained when a child is always doing good and devoted to both parents. Among them is obtaining the blessing of life and ease of sustenance.

In response to these counter parties, Nadia tried to explain, through her social media.

Nadia wrote:

"Include me Nadia Putri, the originator of the idea of the Pesantren Program for Manula."

"Caring for parents in their old age is indeed very much a priority. And it's a loss if we don't get it."

"But not a few people also let go of the opportunity. They are like nuts forgetting their skin, too busy with world affairs to forget to take care of their elderly parents."

"For cases like this, Pesantren Manula presented. Those who are old will get treatment, and no less important, they can concentrate on performing worship in their old age."

"In addition, many parents do not want to trouble their children. In this case, parents can join the Pesantren Manula and they can have friends to learn to deepen the religion."

Nadia responded through her social media. He hopes that this explanation can be understood by those who reject the existence of the Pesantren Manula.
