Towards True Love 2

Towards True Love 2
Goodbye to Adi

"Assalamualaikum," said the father and Rio simultaneously when he arrived on the terrace.

"Wa'alaikumsalam," answered me and mama compact.

"What's this, Ma? Do your eyes look so hard?" ask the father who immediately realized the difference in my face and my mother.

"There's nothing, sir. Let's go in, you must be tired. Mama will make coffee," invite mama who immediately got a good response from the father.

"You crying?" rio asked checking my eyes with a meticulous look.

"My mom and I talked about a lot of heartwarming things. That's why our eyes are so thick." I lied to my husband again.

"You tired? Can I make you a drink?" ask my husband.

"Make me a fresh drink. It was so hot outside, you didn't ask me to stop by for a drink" she lamented to me.

"Wait here. I'll make something." I passed by leaving a sweet smile for her.

Finished making drinks for Rio, mama told me to deliver the order of aunt Lina or rather mama Adi. Mama said, Aunt Lina's cake order is booming. So mama was also interested in helping Aunt Lina fulfill her customer's order.

"I stayed a while, yeah. I want to take this to Aunt Lina's house" I said to my husband.

Rio just nodded while sipping on my freshly made drink. He also took a piece of mama's brownie cake.

I was a little confused as my steps got closer to Adi's house. Why is Adi's house so crowded? Is there an event at his house? But what kind of event is being held?

I kept moving forward until I actually got to Adi's house. I said my regards as soon as I reached the porch of his house.

"Oh, there's Indy. Come in, Ndy," said aunt Lina, taking me inside her house. The living room and terrace were crowded with unacquainted guests. Bending my body, I passed by those who were looking at me strangely.

"It just so happens that you're here again. Help auntie, huh?" aunt Lina's pinta when she managed to get me into her house.

"Help make a cake, huh, Tan? Is there still a lot of orders that haven't been made?" my question went straight to the cake because my mom brought me here for that reason.

"What order? Auntie is not taking orders. Aunty asked your mama to help make a cake for these souvenirs," said aunt Lina whispered a little.

"Are they, Tan?" ask me without awkward.

"Lho, your mama didn't tell me? Today Adi is engaged. Aunty will introduce you to her fiance. Now help auntie prepare clothes for Adi. You certainly can, right, make Adi's appearance more perfect?"

The deg! My heart stopped. Adi's engaged? Hot and cold weather runs through my body. My blood flow stopped. My palms are frozen with my other limbs. My ears were suddenly deaf, my sight was not directed anymore.

I silently stared without taking out a word to answer Aunt Lina's question.

"Sound." The touch of aunty Lina's palm made me aware of the daydream.

"Yes, Auntie," I replied a little nervously.

"Why are you daydreaming?" ask aunt Lina who caught my daydream earlier.

"No, Aunt. Indy was just shocked by this sudden news," I replied honestly.

"Tante," prevent me by holding the arm of Aunt Lina who was about to leave.

"Why, Ndy?" Aunt Lina seemed confused by my attitude.

"Sorry, Aunt. Indy couldn't help. Indy should go home soon," I reasoned.

"A moment, aunt please. Besides, you and Adi haven't seen each other in a long time, have you?" Aunt Lina doesn't know that Adi has actually met me several times.

"All right." I surrendered. For it is impolite to refuse a request for help from someone older than me. Moreover, Aunt Lina to the point of begging me.

I hid behind Aunt Lina when I got to Adi's room. I haven't seen what the face of the man who was about to get engaged looks like. For my own face I hid in submission.

"Di, look who's brought you here" said aunt Lina to her son.

"Withy? What's he going to do here, Ma?" ask Adi in a sharp tone.

"Hush .. mama asked Indy for help to make your dance," replied Aunt Lina.

"No need." Adi stayed on his feet, being tough and tight.

"Indy came home, Auntie." Not even turning my body around, Adi prevented me with spicy words coming out of her mouth.

"It was just that late," he said full of satire.

"Ndy, auntie's asking for help, huh?" Aunt Lina patted me on the shoulder and got me stuck there.

"I can't stay here long. I asked for permission to open your closet to choose clothes," I said without further ado and immediately opened the wooden cabinet one and a half meters behind Adi.

"Ndy," called him who was standing behind me.

"This shirt seems to suit you." I turned my body around and Adi stood right in front of me with a sharp look.

"Aren't you surprised to see me getting engaged today?" I kept my eyes down.

"You can wear this shirt, I have to go home." I put that shirt on the bed in that room. I was afraid, Adi who had just kept looking at me would see sadness in my eyes.

"I still can't accept your marriage. Can you accept my engagement?" Adi again prevented my move with his question.

"Your engagement is none of my business. Even if I can't accept it, this engagement will still happen. Nothing will change. I should have given my congratulations for my engagement. Because there's no more word I deserve than to congratulate you. I say goodbye, Assalamualaikum," I said then quickly left Adi's room.

The people who were there looked at me confused. I came out half-run. And my bulging eyes were filled with tears.

The clear circle fell along with my steps that were further away from Adi's house. I looked back at the crowded courtyard of his house.

"Maybe Mama showed this to me on purpose? Because mom knows I love her? Is Adi's engagement the answer for me to live my life tomorrow?"

I don't want people to see me getting weird. I wiped the tears on my eyes using the cloth of my sleeve.

"Goodbye, Adi" I said in my heart and immediately returned home.
