"Who is Radnor?" rani asked and it made some of Mrs Pengelley's embarrassment reappear
"Eh, he's just a friend. Very nice young man." replied Pengelley.
"Is there anything between him and your nephew?" ask the curious Rani.
"Absolutely not," Mrs Pengelley said firmly.
Then Commissioner Saga changed his sitting position.
"Are you and your husband, at this time on good terms?" ask commissioner Saga.
"Yes, our relationship is good." replied Mrs Pangelley.
"What about your property, yours or your husband's?" ask commissioner Saga full of questions.
"Oh, it's all Edward's. I have no wealth." replied the woman.
"Madame! To be practical, we must be brutal. We need to find his motive. Your Husband will not poison you just because of your poverty, surely there are other motives contained because he wants to get rid of you!" exclamation Commissioner Saga.
"Come in, and there's a yellow-haired naughty girl helping him work," said Mrs Pengelley who explained with a flash of anger in her voice.
"My husband is a dentist, Commissioner, so inevitably he has to hire a smart girl as his assistant. I heard that there was a scandal between the two of them. Of course, my husband always denied the news." continued Mrs Pangelley who told me what she was going through.
"That bug-killing drug, Madame, who ordered it?" ask Rani who is listening.
"My husband. About a year ago." replied Mrs Pangelley.
"Now about your nephew.
Does he have his own money?" ask Commissioner Saga.
"About fifty million a year. He would gladly return and take care of Edward's house should I leave the man" the woman said.
"So, you've been thinking of leaving him?" rani asked as she scrunched her eyebrows together.
"I don't want to let him always act on his own accord. Women are not oppressed slaves!' exclaims madam Pangelley.
"I'm proud of your spirit of independence, Madame; but let's be practical. You want to go back to Polgarwith today?" ask commissioner Saga who looks at Mrs Pangelley.
"Yes, I came here just for a moment. The train leaves at 06:00 and returns at 17:00." replied Mrs Pangelley.
"Well! There is no important business that I have to work on now" said commissioner Saga.
"In the meantime, eat only dishes that you prepare yourself, or that are prepared under your supervision. There's a waitress you trust?" ask Rani.
"Jessie! She's a good woman, I believe her." replied Mrs Pangelley.
"Then, until tomorrow, Madame. Be hearted!" said Commissioner Saga and Mrs Pargelley nodded her head and then she turned around.
The woman stepped foot leaving Commissioner Saga and also Rani.
After Mrs Pargelley disappeared from their eyes, then commissioner Saga returned to his seat with a serious face. But in his seriousness, he had seen two strands of fur that were pulled from the woman's scarf accidentally.
Carefully pick it up and throw it in the trash.
"What do you think of this case, my wife?" ask Commissioner Saga to Rani..
"An unpleasant case." replied Rani who was like her mood at this moment.
"Well, if the woman's suspicions are correct. But, that's right" Woe to the husbands who order insect repellent now. If his wife suffers from stomach ulcers and is hysterical, he is really in trouble" Commissioner Saga said.
"Ah, I don't know, honey. This case is definitely interesting to me, very interesting. You know, obviously there's nothing new in this case. Therefore, the hysteria theory is correct. But I don't think Mrs Pengelley is a hysterical woman. If I'm not mistaken, we're facing a poignant human drama. Ranj, what do you think about Mrs Pengelley's feelings for her husband?" ask Commissioner Saga who asked Rani as a working partner not as a wife.
"Loyalty struggles with fear" answered Rani.
"Even so, usually a woman will accuse anyone - except her husband. She will continue to trust her husband both in good times and in hard times." continued Rani.
"The other woman complicates matters" commissioner Saga said, thinking.
"really. Affection can turn to hate under the stimulation of jealousy. However, hatred would bring Mrs Pengelley to them.
"Why did it come to us? What is it that his suspicions are proven to be untrue? Or so that the taste of the curve proves true? Ah, there are factors we don't yet understand. Is she a great actress, Mrs Pengelley?" muttered commissioner Saga.
"No, he's honest. I could have sworn he was an innocent man and that's why I'm interested in this case." replied Rani.
"Please find a train that goes to Polgarwith, brother Saga." continued Rani.
"All right!" said Commissioner Saga who then called the railway station attendant.
***
The most comfortable train of the day was the 13:50 train from Paddington, which arrived in Polgarwith.
At 19:00. The ride was ordinary, and Rani had to wake up from a deep nap due to the light that shone on the gloomy little station platform. Rani and the Saga commissary transport their suitcases to the Duchy Hotel.
After eating a little, Poirot proposed that after dinner we visit the person they were looking for.
The Pengelley family home is located a little overhanging from the street, with an ancient model garden in front of the house. The smell of stock plants (plants used for grafting) and mignonetta (small, fragrant, greenish-white flowering plants) is fragrant as the night breeze.
It seemed impossible for there to be any cruelty within this beautiful 'Ancient World. Poirot rang the bell and knocked on the door. Since there was no answer, he pressed the doorbell again. This time, after a moment of silence, the door was opened by a servant whose appearance was completely untidy. Both of his eyes were red and he sneezed constantly.
"We would like to meet Mrs Pengelley" Saga's commissioner said as the main door opened.
"Can we come in?" ask Rani.
The waiter was stifled. He bluntly replied, "Then have you not heard, Mrs Pengelley is dead. This evening, about half an hour ago." replied the waiter.
Commissioner Saga and Rani stood looking at the waiter glued.
"What caused his death?" rani asked opening her voice.
"There are some things I want to say," said the waiter, looking at the commissioner of the saga at a glance.
"If there had been someone in this house accompanying the Madam, I would have packed my luggage immediately and left tonight as well. But, I will not leave the Madam in a lifeless state, without anyone by her side. It's out of place that I say something and I won't say anything." said the waiter.
"However, everyone knows. This news has spread throughout the city. Had Radnor not reported to the Secretary of Household Affairs, someone else would have done so. The doctor can say what he likes." the waiter continued.
Commissioner Saga and Rani looked at each other, and then the waiter resumed his story, and again both listened to the waiter's story.
