Three Character Girl

Three Character Girl
Start Investigations ll

Rani's husband immediately turned on his motorcycle and then drove down the highway, heading to their destination.

They headed to the police station and immediately went home to their apartment because it had been night.

Commissioner Saga and Rani, who are investigating the dance killings, confirmed the next Tuesday as the day of the mysterious performance.

The preparations made greatly aroused my curiosity. A white screen was installed on one side of the room, flanked by heavy curtains on each side. A man appears carrying lighting fixtures, and eventually a group of theater members disappear into a bedroom used as a temporary dressing room.

Moments before 20:00, Inspector Alex arrives in a carefree mood.

Rani felt the inspector was lacking approval for the Saga commissioner's plan.

"A little sensational, like all his ideas. However, this method is not harmful, and as he said, can save us from difficulties. So far he has handled this matter very brilliantly" Inspector Alex told Rani.

"I myself have the same thought, of course, because instinctively I feel you are forcing to accept the truth" said Rani who spread her gaze around her.

Lord Cronshaw appears first, escorting the never-before-seen Mrs Mallaby to both Rani, Commissioner Saga and inspector Alex, she is a beautiful, dark-haired, restless-looking woman.

Then following Davidson and his wife Chris Davidson also just this time they know. Davison is quite handsome, tall, dark-skinned, and his style shows that he is indeed an actor.

Commissioner Saga has arranged the seating of this group facing the screen highlighted in bright light. The other lights were turned off so that the room became pitch-black.

His voice was heard in the darkness.

"Gentlemen and ladies, there is little explanation. Alternately, six figures will pass through the screen. These characters are no longer strangers to you. Pierrot and his Pierrette; Punchinello, the clown, and the elegant Pulcinella; the beautiful Columbine who danced lightly, and Harlequin, the fairy, the magic to man."

With these opening words the show began.

Each character mentioned by Poirot took turns walking around in front of the screen, paused for a moment, then disappeared. Lights lit up and sighs of relief rang out from every spectator. Everyone is nervous because they don't know what it means.

For Rani, it looks like this event is just like that. If the murderer is among them and Poirot expects him to be discouraged and then confesses when he sees a familiar character, it is obviously futile when it is almost certain that this is the purpose of Poirot.

However, Poirot did not appear to be agitated in the slightest. He stepped forward with a radiant face.

"Well, Ladies and gentlemen, would you take turns telling me what we just saw" How about you start, Milor'?" ask the host who was able to make Lord Cronshaw look a bit confused.

"I don't think I really understand."

"Tell me what we just saw."

"I .eh, I must say that we see six figures passing in front of a screen, dressed to represent the figures in an ancient Italian comedy, or. uh... we were alone on that night."

"Don't think about that last night, milor'" Commissioner Saga cut in.

"First part of your words that's what I want. Madame, do you agree with Milor' Cronshaw?" ta ya commissioner Saga turned to Mrs Mallaby.

"I. eeh. yes, of course." replied the mallaby lady.

"You agree that you see six figures representing Italian Comedy?" ask Rani.

"Of course." replied Ms. Mallaby.

"Monsieur Davidson, you too?" ask the lady Mallaby.

"How about you ladies and gentlemen?" ask Mrs Mallaby who is still curious.

"Yes! You agree!" exclaimed Commissioner Saga who looked at each other alternately his face became somewhat pale, both eyes green like cat eyes.

"Then you are mistaken! Your eyes have deceived you - just as they did on the night of the dance. 'Seeing with one's own eyes', as people say, doesn't always mean seeing the truth. One must see with the eyes of the mind; one must use the brain! Well, know that on the night of the dance you did not see six figures, but five! Understood!" mrs Mallaby explained.

"The lights went out again. A figure jumped in front of the screen!" continue exclaims madam Mallaby.

"Who is that?" ask the curious Inspector Alex. "

"Is he Pierrot?" ask Rani who is trying to guess.

"really. Look again!" exclamation Commissioner Saga

With one swift motion the man freed himself from his loose Pierrot attire. There, under a powerful beam of lights, stood the glittering Harlequin! At the same time there was a scream and the sound of the chair being tipped over.

"Cursed You!" davidson's voice growled.

"Cursed You! How can you guess?"

Then came the clinking of handcuffs and the quiet, official voice of inspector Alex,

"I'm arresting you, Christopher Davidson, on charges of committing the murder of Viscount Cronshaw whatever you say will be used in your incriminating testimony" Inspector Alex said.

A quarter of an hour later a small dinner banquet was available. With beaming faces, Commissioner Saga answered all their curious questions.

"Everything is simple. The green silk tassel found in the hands of the late Lord Cronshaw instantly gave the impression that it had been pulled loose from the killer's costume. I scribbled Pierrette's name from my mind (because it took a considerable amount of energy to knock out the dinner knife) and confirmed Pierrot as the culprit. However, Pierrot left the dance nearly two hours before the murder. So, he must have gone back to the party to kill Lord Cronshaw or he killed Cronshaw before escorting Miss Courtenay!" obviously Commissioner Saga.

"Is this a mustahi possibility.? Who saw Lord Cronshaw after dinner?" ask the curious Inspector Alex.

"Only Mrs Davidson, whose statement about the lost green silk tassel, was, inadvertently fabricated. It must have been the tassel she accidentally scissors from her own clothes to replace the tassel missing from her husband's costume. Then, Harlequin, who was seen on the balcony at 01:30, it must have been a clone." explained Commissioner Saga.

"Before this, I briefly considered Beltane as the perpetrator of the murder. But with his elaborate costumes it is clearly impossible that he co-starred in the roles of Punchinello and Harlequin. On the other hand, this impersonation is very easy to do by Davidson, a young man with a height that is approximately the same as the victim and works as an actor." continued Commissioner Saga.

"One thing worries me. It's impossible for a doctor to feel the difference between a person who has been dead for two hours and a new one for ten minutes!" terka Rani's.

"Well, the doctor did feel it, but he was not invited to examine the body when asked!" obviously Commissioner Saga.
