The Third Party
26. Ill

Month passed.

Sandy came home in a hurry. He went inside the house while talking something I wasn't sure what.

"Emc ... Prepare some clothes, we'll stay at mom's house!"

"We're going to stay at mom's?" I repeated Handi's question to make sure I didn't hear wrong.

"Yes, mom's sick. Poor mother at home alone," explained Handi.

"Oh ... Okay," I replied.

After marriage, Heni lived in her husband's house so my in-laws lived alone.

Looking at Handi who was so anxious and hasty I was sure my in-laws' condition was quite alarming.

"Is it old?"

"No idea, look later. If mother's condition is better maybe one night, tomorrow we can go home. You don't mind, do you?" Handi's question was like hinting if she was afraid I wouldn't stay at her mother's house.

"Not at all. I asked to figure out how many clothes we should bring." I don't want Sandy to misunderstand. Of course I don't mind. Although my in-laws have never been kind to me, I still can't bear to have him at home alone in a sick condition. I'm not that bad.

I immediately prepared some clothes for the three of us after we left.

At my in-laws' house, we went straight in because the door wasn't locked.

I put down my luggage while Handi went straight to her mother's room. A few moments later, Sandy came back out.

"Emm, please order a taxi. I'm taking mom to the hospital. It seems like I'm not strong when riding the bike," said Handi panicked. After that he went back to the camp.

"Yes!" Soon I did as Handi ordered.

Not ten minutes for a taxi to arrive.

"Dam ... The witness has come" I shouted.

"Yes, I'll be right out" replied Handi. Handi came out of the room while holding his mother. I just saw it. It's not that I don't want to help, but I myself carry Damar. Not necessarily my in-laws want me to help you remember how much she doesn't like me.

I pity to see my in-laws' condition so limp and her face pale. He's really sick.

I drove them to the front of the taxi.

"You wait here, yes, I'll let you know if there's anything" said Handi before the taxi drove. I nodded my head too.

I returned home to put the sleeping Damar in my arms. I just realized this house is very dirty and dusty. My in-laws are very clean. How long has my father-in-law been sick until the state of the house like this?

I swept the floor while carrying Damar. After everything was clean, I put Damar on the carpet. Where would I be put to sleep if my room had turned into a warehouse?

After making sure Damar was comfortable I went straight to the back to clean up the messy kitchen and wash the dirty dishes that were piled up in the dishwasher. After that I went to the laundry room to wash my in-laws dirty clothes. Everything I do is unshakably.

I cleaned this house for almost an hour. Nothing was left out from front to back, except Heni's room. After everything was finished I returned to accompany Damar who was still asleep.

I tried to contact Handi to ask her mother, but she said she was still waiting for the queue.

I finished cooking the same time Damar woke up. I carried him and I took him to the front of the house while waiting for Handi and my in-laws to come home.

It was long enough for a taxi to stop at home. Sandy and my in-laws are home.

It seems like before, Handi threw his mother into the house. My in-laws still look limp. Not a word came out of his mouth. I'm not even sure he knows I'm here.

"Is there food? You have to eat something before you take your medicine?" ask Handi while holding her mother.

"So, I've been cooking."

"Please get it, I'll take you to the room."

"Yes" I replied. I went to the kitchen to get food for my in-laws. After that I took her to her room.

Handi painstakingly fed his mother. After that he gave her the medicine he had just obtained from the doctor.

"What did the doctor say?"

"Maternal hypertension, plus dehydration. The doctor said there was no need for hospitalization. If after taking the drug the symptoms are not reduced then it is recommended for hospitalization."

"Oh ... "

Me and Handi were in my in-laws' room long enough. I got out first. Handi made sure her mother slept new she came out of her mother's room.

"How many days have you been sick?" ask me after we both sat on the carpet, where I put Damar to sleep before.

"Three or four days," replied Handi with a bow. "So before I got home from work, my mom called me. Mom told me that for a few days she wasn't feeling well."

I was a little surprised because usually my in-laws always look for Hasan or Aaron if they are sick. This is the collision he's looking for Handi. Is it not wrong?

"Mommy called Mas Hasan and Mas Harun. But they are busy, there is no time to take the mother for treatment. Heni was also on the phone but she couldn't because she was having business with her husband. Only then did mom contact me" said Handi.

I saw the look on Handi's face change when I told her. Disappointed as possible. He was both his son, but he was only used as a backup if no one else came. I'm disappointed to know, especially Sandy.

"That's it, what matters now is us," comforted me. "You want me to get you some food? You haven't eaten since?!" I switched the conversation so that Handi dissolved in grief.

"Yes, I forgot."

"Well wait a minute." I rushed to the kitchen to get Handi some dinner. Don't forget I made her favorite coffee.

Handi is the most devoted son to his mother. She was ready whenever her mother needed her. Why didn't his mother see that? Why did what was seen in his eyes was only Handi who gave the least money compared to the others.

Finish eating Handi alone in front of the house. He said he wanted to contact Mas Hasan and Mas Harun. I also gave him space to himself. There might be something she wanted to talk about with her sisters but didn't want me to know about it.

After finishing calling Handi back to accompany me and Damar.

"Emma, tomorrow morning if you haven't improved, will you stay here with me? I can't skip work. I beg you to accompany me while I work. You want to, right?"

Would I have the heart to answer no if Handi's gaze was so desperate like this? Where are the other children? Why is there only Handi if my in-laws have four children and all live in the same city?

"Of course" I answered without hesitation.
