The Third Party
21. Trivial Matters

Why is Heni so angry? I asked you nicely. If I want to be angry, I should be the one who is angry because Heni has used my things without permission.

"God ... Why so rude? I just asked, there's no need to be angry like that!" my spoken.

"Say you can't!!!" reply Heni with riled up. I don't know what made her so upset, maybe she was having a bad night or her date was falling apart and then she took it out on me.

"Emma, don't go too far! Just the same bag of borrowed shoes just can't?!" My in-laws who from earlier focused on watching soap operas also ended up speaking and immediately took a high note. "Overdoes you?!"

Someone, please tell me where my mistake lies?!

I saw Heni wearing my things and I just asked to make sure they were mine. Is that wrong?

"I'm just asking Mom" I replied trying to calm down. I can still be patient with these two humans who always feel right.

"What's wrong? It's already night. Don't make a fuss." Sandy came out of the room.

"Tell your wife, don't be stingy with your sister! Only bags and shoes borrowed can not be?! Heni this is your own sister?! He has these items as well the most you bought?! Why can't your sister borrow it?!"

Handi turned his head towards me after hearing the report from my in-laws. His gaze at me was like begging me not to prolong this matter, but I could not.

I bought this stuff myself using my money at the factory. But it's not about who bought that thing. It's about Heni having to learn to respect others. He must be taught a lesson so as not to continue to behave arbitrarily.

"Hen, it doesn't need to be returned. If you want to take it, it was bought with Handi's money anyway" my in-laws continued as if justifying Heni's behavior. I was upset to hear these words of my in-laws.

"Can't do that, here's my bag! I bought it with my money not Handi's money!" I don't accept.

"This wife of yours must be taught how to share! Don't be selfish and think of yourself! In this house he doesn't live alone!" my in-laws.

"Emma, that's it." Sandy tried to calm me down. But I just don't accept it any more. Why am I the bad guy here?

"If Heni wants to borrow, wear it, please. But shouldn't he ask me permission first?"

Heni took off the shoes he was wearing and threw them right in front of my feet.

"Here, I'll give you back yours! I have no interest in your things!!!" Heni is getting riled up.

"Wearing other people's goods without asking permission first is the same as stealing. A woman who has good manners and is well educated by her parents will not do that" I said.

I remember my in-laws once insinuated me as a wild woman and less educated parents. And now I'm giving back the insinuation to her daughter.

"What do you mean?! You accused Heni of stealing?!! Are you assuming I can't educate Heni?!" My in-laws hand almost came forward to slap me but Handi managed to prevent it.

"Heh, don't overdo it! I'm just borrowing it not stealing!" heni timpal.

"Heni has admitted he borrowed and has been returned. The problem is over, don't need to be extended anymore! Let's go to sleep!" Suddenly my eyes glazed over. It hurts so much to hear Handi yell at me. I who was strong against these two demons immediately went down in one snatch.

I went, not to my room but to Heni's. I remember my face care cream, Heni must have taken it too. I have to defend myself in front of them all. If my husband doesn't defend me then who if not myself?

"Why are you going to my room?" Heni chased my steps followed by the others. Arriving at Heni's room I went straight to her dresser and found my face cream and other things there. I'm sure it's mine because Heni doesn't usually use the same brand I wear.

I pick up things that are mine. Face cream, lotion, perfume everything I took. I was sincere and would not bother about it anyway I could still buy it again. But seeing how they judge me I don't accept it.

Handi just looked at me while rubbing her face in frustration. If this is the case, I cannot be controlled.

"Heh, put those things back. It belongs to Heni, what do you want?!" hardik.

"Is this yours Hen?" my many. Heni could not answer nor did he dare to look me in the eye.

"What do you mean wild women? Obviously those items belong to Heni since they are in Heni's room!!!"

"You better ask Heni. Are these things really his? Ask him if he stole or borrowed because he took all this without my permission?!!" My in-laws were stunned to hear my words.

"Even I who was poor and was not taught manners never had any desire to steal! Why do the mother's children who are said to have been well educated mothers actually steal?!"

"Emma, don't go too far!" Sandy warned me. I realized my words were a little outrageous and disrespectful but they started first.

"Plakkus ... " I finally slapped my cheek.

I have to fight. Fuck Handi who told me to stay and give up until we moved on. It would be foolish for us to fight over trivial items such as face cream and perfume. It's not about what Heni took. It's about me defending what's mine and about me defending myself.

I looked at Handi after her mother slapped me. I want to see his reaction. This slap is nothing compared to the one I just snapped at. Had he stood up for me, not followed by yelling at me, I would not have gone this far.

I can see that Sandy feels guilty. I'm sure he didn't expect his mother to slap me, either.

"Taking someone else's property without permission is like stealing! Here's proof!" I showed the items I had just picked up before my in-laws eyes. "This is all mine. Heni took it while I was staying at Madam Eka's house!" I said as I walked away from them all.

Inside the room my tears broke unbearably. A few moments later, Sandy came in.

"If you could be firm. The wrong must be said to be wrong and the right must be said to be right, not because they are your family then I am the one you tell me to give up even though I am right," I said without looking at him.

Of all the things I've experienced in this house, Handi's clasping is the most painful. And this is the second time. If I stay in this house is there no way there will be another clash that makes me even more hurt?

"We'll move out soon, I'll work on it."
