The Substitute

The Substitute
Throes

In life someone must have climbed the lowest point in his life. Similarly, a girl who is trying to rise from her lowest point. Being an orphan at a young age makes him more independent and mature.

Dina who inherited the abundant wealth of her late parents did not guarantee her happiness.

And that night, Dina who was trying to forget Rangga had to come back to remember someone who was so meaningful in her life.

He was astonished, staring at every word that Ramon said about Rangga which is actually Deniz, Ozan's younger brother.

"Sister Ramon wasn't kidding, was he?" ask Dina.

"Ozan the story, Din... Ozan never lies." said Ramon.

"The stairs must be sad now."

"But your face looks sad too,"

"I just feel sorry for him. I've never seen it as bad as it is now."

"You don't want to look at him? Rangga must be happy if you go there."

"No... I promised I wouldn't see him again." Even in his heart he was eager to find his love. But what can be done, rice is already porridge.

"Ozan said, Rangga does not want to meet anyone. Even with Ameera." said Ramon, making Dina surprised. Though as far as possible, Ameera is the most effective wound cure for Rangga.

"What the hell, then,?" ask Dina in disbelief.

"It's Ozan's thinking."

Dina then fell silent while wondering whether she would meet Rangga or not.

But if I meet him and he drives me away, I'll get back hurt. Better not.

Hasan just arrived at the airport in Indonesia. He quickens his steps towards the lobby where Ozan is waiting for him. From a distance he saw his eldest son standing waiting for him while folding his hands on his chest. He approached her immediately.

After a short conversation with a longing hug, they immediately left the airport. Instead of going straight home, Hasan instead asked Ozan to take him to meet Rangga.

"Don't, Pah... He still needs time. Some days mama continues to go there, but can not meet" said Ozan in the middle of the trip.

"Papa's tug there, no objection!!" sahut Hasan,

"All right," said Ozan resignedly.

And not long after, they reached the house where Rangga was. However, as Ozan had previously guessed, Rangga did not want to meet anyone.

"Well, isn't it, Pah? I told you." whispered Ozan to Hasan's ear. But the middle-aged man was very stubborn. He still insisted on meeting Rangga.

"I want to see my son, please...!!" his words to Aliyah who had just bowed her head.

"I'm sorry, but even I'm not allowed into her room." said Aliyah.

Hasan walked towards the room near the living room, which was now occupied by Rangga. He knocked it several times, but there was no answer.

"Give me the spare key to that room...!" the door was on Aliyah with a flat face.

"Papa, comeon! Let's just go home, don't force it." Ozan said. He did not want Rangga to get even more depressed if Hasan forced to meet him.

Aliyah headed for a cupboard located in the corner of the room, took the spare key, then gave it to Hasan.

As soon as he opened the door of the room, his eyes suddenly watery to see Rangga who now looks thinner, no spirit, like an undead, he was sitting helplessly on a wheelchair. Hasan closed the door, so that he could freely talk to the child who had been thought to have died.

"My son." he said slowly.

He looked up when he heard someone's voice. He froze when he saw Hasan standing there. He then turned his back to the man, hiding his falling tears.

"Please, leave me alone!" pinta Ranges.

Hasan smiled as he wiped his tears, he walked up to Rangga, then crouched down in front of him.

He stroked the boy's head fondly, down to the face. Rangga tried to pull over the hand when it touched his shoulder.

"Please, Om... I want to be alone." Rangga's voice sounded softly begging Hasan to leave her.

Hasan then patted his son's cheek gently several times, as if scolding him.

"This is how you welcome Papa? Who taught you?" tanyanya cried, then hugged the child's body tightly. "I'm sorry Papa, son, all this is papa's fault that doesn't take good care of you, so they separate you from us. For 18 years, not a day has Papa passed without thinking of you."

The defense built by Rangga instantly collapsed. He returned the hug, throwing away his ego.

"Why did they do this to me? Why should I have to go through all this. Papa's... Punish the bad guy for me." said Rangga with a cry.

"Of course, son... Papa will definitely punish whoever did this to you." He let go of his embrace for a moment, looking at Rangga's face with his tears.

"Papa. I want to come with Papa home... Papa came to pick me up, didn't he?"

"of course. Papa's here to take you back to our house."

For a few moments they hugged, letting go of his yearning for a dozen years.

Ozan glanced at the clock on his wrist, the father had been in there long enough, but had not come out yet. He's getting restless. While Aliyah had been sitting on the sofa just lowered her head.

Not long after, the door of the room opened, Hasan came out of the room by pushing Rangga's wheelchair.

"Ladders..." Aliyah immediately stood up, her body shook, but she resigned if Rangga chose to leave the house.

"Ozan.. Take Rangga out! " pinta Hasan's. Ozan was stunned, he still could not believe that Rangga had actually agreed to come home with him. Without much questioning, he immediately pushed the wheelchair out of the house.

"Bao...Sorry.. these few days I've been too much ngusir y'all continue." said Rangga.

"Gue knows. You must be hard to accept all this."

Rangga then remembered his behavior in recent days, he continued to expel the mother who always wanted to meet him.

"How's mama?"

"Mama kept crying in the room these few days. You know, when you're gone, mom's been depressed for months. It's happening again."

There is a great guilt in Rangga's heart that has been unfair to his mother. Everything that happened was not his fault.

Inside the house, Hasan was talking to Aliyah.

"Aliyah, thank you for taking good care of my son all this time. I'm sorry, I took it without asking your permission first" he said as he walked away from the house.

Aliyah could only cry, not a single word could be spoken from her lips. He dropped his body on the floor, shortly after they all left the house and took Rangga away.

"Rangga.". "he said the name of his son.

They have arrived at the Chandra Jaya family home. Ozan and Hasan help Rangga get out of the car. Ameera, who had been waiting for her father-in-law, opened the door after hearing the sound of the car stopping.

He immediately approached his father-in-law and regretted it. Wandering around her like a spoiled child who long ago did not meet the figure of his father.

"How are you, son? " asked Hasan while rubbing Ameera's head.

"Well, Pah." said Ameera with a smile.

A moment later, he was so shocked when he saw Rangga emerge from behind the car.

"Rangga.." murmured Ameera. He widened his eyes as if he could not believe his vision.

"Why? Can't I go home by myself?" ask Rangga. His tone was normal like the usual Rangga.

Ameera pursed her lips, "Bas stubborn!! Papa must have scolded you, right? Because your head is harder than a rock?" Ameera had a good taste, as if annoyed with Rangga who had been refusing to see him for a few days. "Well, let's get mad at him harder, I got kicked out a couple of times..."

"Haha, he actually dared to chase away his own brother-in-law, but Papa had already scolded him. Now, let's go in the house."

Ozan and Hasan only chuckled at the two men's debate. They also immediately entered the house.

"Which mom, Yank...?" ask Ozan to Ameera.

"Mama is in the room." replied Ameera, pointing to the end of the room.

"Papa... Can I meet Mama?" ask Rangga. He felt guilty because a few days ago, every time Zarima came to see him, he always refused and kicked him out.

"Of course." replied Hasan.

"I'm the only one who delivered, yes." said Ameera. He immediately pushed Rangga towards the room.

"If you mess around and talk to your mom, I will definitely beat you up." whispered Ameera as she pushed her wheelchair.

"Well, sister-in-law." said Rangga with a voice made as funny as possible to make Ameera pinch her back.

"Aauuw is sick to know," Rangga grimaced holding his shoulder.

"Thankfulness."

Upon entering the room, Rangga saw Zarima crying looking at the pictures of a small child. Ameera immediately came out of the room after dropping off Rangga.

Stay Rangga alone with her mother in the room. So sad, the woman did not realize the presence of Rangga there.

"Mama.." call Rangga slowly.

Zarima was silent at the sound, turning his head, Rangga was already beside him with tears soaking his cheeks.

"Denizz..." He still could not believe that the figure beside him was his son. Especially because she called him mom.

"Mama.. I'm sorry, some days I'm evil with Mama" said Rangga while wiping tears on Zarima's cheeks.

Zarima touched Rangga's face, his hands shook, "This is really you, son...? Denise..."

"Yes, Mah..."

Zarima's cry broke. He hugged his son. Letting go of his longing.18 years apart from his son is not something easy for him. Every day, he pretended to be happy, but his heart was tormented by his guilt.
