The Substitute

The Substitute
Everglow

After despair with all kinds of therapy that did not pay off, that night Dina tried to comfort Rangga by inviting him to relax in a cafe that became Rangga's favorite.

Although Rangga has been transformed into a grumpy and fierce figure, but Dina remains patient to deal with it. He realized Rangga was frustrated, so often venting it with indistinct anger.

"I ordered your favorite drink, yes." said Dina. But Rangga did not answer. He just kept silent.

Dina then called a cafe waiter. And, when he saw Rangga, the servant was shocked. How not, he did not expect if the man in front of him who was sitting in a wheelchair, was the owner of the cafe.

"What do you see?" asked Rangga with an intimidating look.

Really, for some people, Rangga's sharp gaze was extremely frightening. As if he could cut through whatever was in front of him.

"No, no. Forgive me." said the waiter, lowering his head. Dina who realized the situation immediately interjected.

"Create only Rangga's favorite drink, the other I ask for avocado juice. Don't forget the toast, yes." Dina's plea to the waiter.

"Well.." after taking down Dina's order, the waiter left them both. Dina noticed some of the waiters at the cafe were looking towards Rangga. Dina immediately approached them.

"Don't take heart, yes.if Rangga is angry with you. The mood is being damaged" said Dina softly to some cafe workers.

"Don't worry. We know what the real boss is like." said a man who is the cafe's manager.

"Thank you, Wan... Sorry, yes... Since the accident, he was easily angry. I hope you're not offended by his attitude."

"Don't worry, just relax." said the man.

"Sorry, yeah..."

After that, Dina returned to the table and sat down with Rangga. Not long after, their order came. Unlike usual, this time Rangga just stared at his favorite menu without touching it. His appetite disappeared with his life spirit.

"Please take me to the stage, Din.." pinta Rangga.

Without much question, Dina pushed Rangga's wheelchair towards a small stage in the cafe. After that, Dina sat on a chair in the corner of the stage, watching her heart adore from there.

Rangga approached a piano and started playing his favorite song. A song by Coldplay called Everglow. A song that reminds me of Ameera.

Oh they say people come, say people go

This particular diamond, was extra special

And thought you were straight be gone,

And the world may not know

Still I see you, Celestial

Like a lion you ran, a goddes you rolled

Like an eagle you circled, in perfect purple

So how come things move on,

how Come cars don't slow

When it feels like the end of my world

When I should but I can't let you go

But when I'm cold, cold

Oh When I'm cold, cold

There's a light that you give me,

When I'm in shadow

There's a feeling you give me, an everglow

Like brothers in blood, sisters who ride

And we swore on that night, we'd be friends

til we die

But the changing of wind, and the way

Flow waters

Life as short as the falling of snow

And now I'm gonna miss you, I know

But when I'm cold, cold

In water rolled, salt

And I know you're with me, and the way

you will show

And you're with me wherever I go

And you give me this filling,

this everglow

What I would't give for just a moment to hold

Yeah, I live for this feeling, this everglow

If you love someone, then,

you should let them know

Oh the light that you left me will everglow

Dina was so amazed to hear the song that Rangga played, but there was also a feeling of sadness in her heart. She wiped her tears to make them invisible to anyone.

To this extent, your heart still belongs entirely to Ameera. Was my struggle all this time in vain? You even sang that song beautifully. Songs about you and Ameera. Am I still capable, Rangga? You even named this cafe with a combination of your name and Ameera. 'Ra-Ra cafe'.. Why am I so pathetic?

At a glance, Rangga glanced at Dina with the tail of her eyes. He was sure the girl was crying.

Dina. You must be sad to hear that song.

And not only Dina, all the cafe visitors were very impressed by the melodious voice of the man who was sitting in the wheelchair while clapping. Some were amazed, but some were seen whispering to each other.

Maybe they were talking about a man with near-perfect good looks, but he had to be shackled in a wheelchair.

"You didn't drink the juice?" ask Dina.

"I'm not feeling. I want to go home." Pinta Rangga.

"All right..." Dina then called a waiter to clear the table.

Rizal is still faithfully waiting in the parking lot. When he saw Rangga and Dina, he immediately approached them and helped Rangga get into the car.

"Lu's fine, right?" rizal asked Rangga when he saw the two people were moody since they came out of the cafe.

"It's okay" replied Rangga briefly.

They also got involved in the drama of silence during the trip. Hiding each other's feelings.

"It's very, very, yes.it's like this heart.." said Rizal while driving, trying to break the ice.

"It's like finding a girlfriend, Lu... What's-her-name? Sherly, right?" ask Rangga.

"As for me, he doesn't like me. Waiting for something uncertain is painful, Bro. " replied Rizal.

And again this Rizal spoke out of place. Perhaps it was his nature that sometimes did not control his speech first, making Dina lowered her head. Rizal's words were really precise about her. Dina waited for Rangga for 4 years. But there has been no sign of Rangga opening his heart to him. The girl did not know Rangga's true feelings.

"We're going straight home?" rizal asked the two creatures who were in one car with him.

"Antar Dina go home first, Zal." replied Rangga.

Not long after, they had reached Dina's house. As soon as the car entered his yard, he got out of the car and entered the house without saying a word. Even the two men were able to see the look of sadness on Dina's face.

Instead of coming home soon, they were chatting in front of the house.

"Lu what the hell? Look, your deeds!" said Rizal while pointing at Dina with her chin.

"Gue pity her, Zal... Dina deserves to be happy. If he stays with me, he'll have more heartache. I don't want that..."

"Lu's sure, the way you're now treating Dina, she can get away from you?"

"don't know. Try aja..."

"Ribetan really, your life. I asked, lu... There's a similar feeling to Dina right?"

And that question was like a hard slap for Rangga. He was not even able to answer Rizal's question. He just looked at Rizal with an intimidating look.

"Okay.. okay.. I understand.." said Rizal while doing a movement like locking his mouth.

"Will not go home? Want to hang out in front of people's houses?" ask Rangga later.

"Yes.brent, bring you ah..."

Songwriting translation

They say people come and go

This diamond is special

And even if you leave, the world may not know

I can still see you in space

Like a lion you run, spin like a goddess

Like an eagle, you're perfect in purple

Then how things can change so quickly, why not slow down

It feels like the end of my world

When I have to forget, but I can't let you go

But when I'm cold, though,

There's a light you give me when I'm in the dark

The taste you gave me, like a ray

Like a force, which controls

And we swore that night,

We'll be friends until we die

But the change in wind and water currents

Life is as short as snow

And now, I'm gonna miss you, I know

But when I'm cold, though,

Wiggling in salt water

I know you're with me, though,

and the way you show

And you're with me wherever I go

You gave me this peaceful feeling

What I don't give is just

to arrest you

I live for this feeling

So, if you love someone, then,

You should tell him

The light you leave gives peace
