The Phoenix Reborn Book II
Chapter 58 Think Before You Act

In front of the courtyard of Qiufeng Ge pavilion, a figure of Xiuchen stood with both hands folded in front of his chest. His forehead was wrinkled and his gaze looked displeased.

‘This.’ Xiuchen's thoughts drifted in various directions. ‘If the Fourth Prince does not visit the Liang residence, then it will justify the rumor that he has feelings for Mingwei Junzhu.’ The man's eyes were closed, as if trying to reduce the dizziness he felt. ‘If so, the Fourth Prince's relationship with Princess Wu ...’

“What makes the Xiuchen Guards bend his face like that?” ask a voice that surprised Xiuchen.

When Xiuchen turned his head towards the source of the voice, he was wide-eyed and immediately kneeled on one leg. “Shufei,” greetings while saluting.

Huang Yan’an hummed, returning the greetings of his son's subordinate. Then, he glanced into the courtyard of Qiufeng Ge's pavilion. It was seen that Wang Junsi was sitting alone inside the pavilion.

“Since when was he there?” huang Yan’an asked without turning his eyes.

Xiuchen closed his eyes, not daring to raise his head. “Since last night.” He clenched his hand. “Please Shufei give slave punishment.” Xiuchen felt that he was also involved in letting Wang Junsi's feelings towards Huang Miaoling become so deep.

Hearing this, Huang Yan’an looked at Xiuchen. He smiled bitterly. “What's your fault Xiuchen?” That's not a question. The woman sighed while looking at the figure of her son who was so pitiful. “Mistake expect too much and hard to accept reality.”

Huang Yan’an then took a step into the courtyard of the pavilion. His foothold on the rocky road that had begun to be overgrown with weeds did not make Wang Junsi turn his head.

As Huang Yan’an had reached the pavilion, he saw that his son was glancing at him. However, no salutation or respect was given.

“Until when do you want to be like this?” huang Yan’an asked in a depressed tone. “On their wedding day, you did something like this. Isn't that too despicable, Junsi?” The woman's forehead is wrinkled. “ Not only against Young Master Liang and Ling’er, but also against yourself.”

Issues concerning Wang Junsi and Huang Miaoling's relationship had long been spread. However, it was quickly muffled when the girl returned with a marriage agreement with Liang Fenghong.

A few days ago, as Wang Junsi continued to spend her time immersing herself in alcohol ahead of Huang Miaoling's wedding day, everyone started to talk about the relationship of the two back. It was not only about the possibility of Wang Junsi grieving over the girl's marriage, but also Huang Miaoling leaving the prince for a man from Wu Kingdom.

If Wang Junsi had not attended Huang Miaoling's wedding today, wouldn't that mean he had indirectly justified the issue?

Wang Junsi put down his wine jar. Then he turned his eyes to his mother. “What does Mom want me to do? Smile happily and congratulate them?”

Huang Yan’an shook his head. “I want you to face your problems with your eyes open,” reply. However, the woman's speech was only followed by Wang Junsi's snort. Seeing the young man again lifting the wine jar, Huang Yan’an said, “Did you know Princess Meilan is waiting?

Wang Junsi stopped his actions for a while. “What does it have to do with me?” he asked, as if he didn't care. Then, he continued sipping wine from the urn.

Huang Yan’an's eyes caught his son's doubt. “Antar him to attend wedding.”

Wang Junsi's eyebrows clutched and he slammed his wine jar onto the table. “Mother!” With his circumstances like this, Wang Junsi could not believe that his mother would tell him to meet Wu Meilan. Does your mother want to embarrass herself?!

“Did you just raise your tone before me?” huang Yan’an asked with a darkened look.

Wang Junsi combed her hair with a finger. “Mother knows that's not the case!” His blue eyes trembled as he stared at the anger that radiated in the eyes of the Mother. “If Princess Wu wants to leave, she can go with Sixth Sister or Seventh Sister. I'm sure both of them represent the royal family in today's wedding.” Somehow there was a slight reluctance in his eyes when he said that.

Huang Yan’an's right eyebrow was rising, the corner of his lips slightly raised. “You know clearly the Princess Wu does not want that.” Then, he added, “And, I also realize you are too.” The woman showed a defiant expression. “Why?”

“The mother joked, I have no such thoughts at all,” Wang Junsi replied as she stood up from her chair. Even after spending an entire night immersing himself in the liquor, the man could stand tall and behave normally. “If there is nothing else, your son resigns.” He saluted and walked away.

As Wang Junsi passed by Huang Yan’an, the woman clutched her son's arm. This made the young man look on in shock. When he saw the sight of the Mother, Wang Junsi knew that he was in deep trouble.

“You know clearly I just dropped a command, not a request, Wang Junsi.”

Inside Liang's residence, the party lasted until it started to get dark. Liang Fenghong in his all-red clothes was conspicuous amidst the guests visiting his residence. Whether it was Lianhua Yuan's business acquaintances, as well as the palace officials, all of them wanted to engage in a conversation with him—even if all the man gave was a cold glance.

Suddenly, the guard of the Liang residence announced loudly. “Mr Princess Wu, Fourth Prince, Sixth Prince, and Seventh Prince arrived!”

The announcement made people turn their heads, paying attention to the important figures walking into the main courtyard of the Liang residence. All the guests were like a sea that was split in two, giving way for the royal officials to approach the main cast in the wedding.

Premier Liang and Liang Fenghong immediately welcomed their important guests. “Greetings to Princess Wu, Fourth Prince, Sixth Prince, and Seventh Prince,”, Premier Liang said, saluting.

Wu Meilan nodded his head while smiling faintly. “I congratulate you, Young Master Liang,” he said as he stared at Liang Fenghong. “Can marry someone you love so much, it is a blessing.” He added, “You better take good care of Mingwei Junzhu.”

Liang Fenghong nodded his head. “I'll remember your message, Mr. Princess.” His gaze exuded an unstoppable joy.

Plaque!

“Ah!” The young prince grimaced as he received a slap behind his head. “Kakak Fourth! What are you doing?!” wang Xiangqi's.

“Can't you keep your word?” reprimand Wang Junsi.

Wang Xiangqi stroked his poor head and said in a half whining tone, “Everyone also knows I was just joking, why are you so overreacting?!” Then, he muttered, “As if he felt himself quipped.”

Hearing this, Wang Junsi had just wanted to throw another slap at his sister. However, before he succeeded, Wu Meilan quickly said, “The Seventh Prince is very adept at joking.” He chuckled, trying to cheer up the atmosphere.

Wu Meilan's words made the guests chuckle, and Wang Junsi stopped his actions. The prince growled lowly and gave a deadly look to Wang Xiangqi, warning his little sister to keep her words.

On the other hand, the few people staring at it felt a little strange, as if Wang Xiangqi's words had a point. Could it be that Wang Junsi was still unable to let down Huang Miaoling?

Liang Fenghong could hear the whispers being thrown, then he took a step forward towards Wang Junsi. “Fourth Prince—”

Before Liang Fenghong had time to continue his words, someone interrupted him, “If others did not know, they would have thought that Fourth Brother really had a relationship with Mingwei Junzhu.”

The Young Master Liang's eyes darkened as he turned his gaze to the figure of the man who was speaking. ‘Wang Chengliu!’ it's in the heart.

Everyone widened their eyes and looked towards the Sixth Prince with a surprised expression. In their minds was ....between Wang Chengliu was so innocent or indeed deliberately starting a mess!

Wang Chengliu continued, “Of course, it was just a nonsense.” He also added, “Who in the palace is unaware of the closeness of Fourth Brother and Princess Wu, right?”

Hearing this, everyone became increasingly speechless. Wang Chengliu was clearly covering up a rumor with another rumor!

Wu Meilan was silent in his place. What Wang Chengliu said was indeed not wrong, he and Wang Junsi had been close lately. However, why was his feeling a little uncomfortable hearing the Sixth Prince's tone? He felt ..the sixth prince had another purpose by bringing up the matter.

“Sixth Sister, do not cause inappropriate rumors,” said Wang Junsi, there is anger in his eyes. “Your words were able to damage Princess Wu's reputation,” she warned her sister. “In addition to the relationship of the host and the royal guest, we have no other relationship.” Without realizing it, his words made someone shrouded in disappointment.

Wang Chengliu blinked his eyes, then bowed slightly to apologize to Wang Junsi and Wu Meilan. “Ah, I was careless and unable to keep up the attitude. I hope Fourth Brother and Princess Wu do not put my nonsense into my heart,”.

Feeling that the atmosphere will get worse when the residents of the palace are left to be the center of attention, Prime Minister Liang immediately said, “Master Princess, the servant of the residence will take you to your seat.” Then he turned to the princes. “Three noble ones, please come with me.” Premier Liang invited the three princes.

Before Wang Junsi left with his father, Liang Fenghong immediately said, “Fourth Prince, I have some things to talk about with you.” He added, “This concerns a message from the Wu Kingdom that has just arrived for you.”

Premier Liang was silent, not remembering a message from the Wu Kingdom in recent weeks. However, he tried to behave as naturally as possible to clear any suspicions.

“Ah, then, you guys talk.” Premier Liang turned to Wang Chengliu and Wang Xiangqi. “Mari, two noble ones, come with me.”

Wang Junsi did not reject Liang Fenghong's invitation, he simply followed the man towards one side of the desolate courtyard. “What is the message from Emperor Huatai?” he asked frankly, not wanting to mince words and spend more time with the man in front of him.

At this moment, Liang Fenghong turned around and looked at him. “Do you really think Emperor Huatai has something to talk about with you?” his question returned with a dark look, deliberately intent on insulting. “Wang Junsi, did you ever think before acting?”

Hearing this, Wang Junsi furrowed her brows. “Liang Fenghong, you are aware that you are insulting a prince from the kingdom where you set your feet, right?” threaten her.

Liang Fenghong looked at Wang Junsi sharply. “You threatened me?” tanyakanya.

“What would you do if I was threatening you?”

The two men stared at each other for quite a long time, no one spoke. If there was someone who was between them, that person would already feel tight because of the tension that formed between the two.

Finally, Liang Fenghong closed his eyes. The man tried hard to calm himself and control his emotions. The purpose of bringing Wang Junsi to speak four eyes was not to fight.

“I have absolutely no intention of looking for trouble with you,” Liang Fenghong said. “However, don't you realize that you just made a big mistake?”
