THE OUT OF MY LEAGUE

THE OUT OF MY LEAGUE
08

Ethan smiled as he clasped Victoria's hand on his shoulder.

“Include, she's my fiancee,” she told Darren.

Darren awkwardly stuck out his hand. “Darren McGold.”

“Victoria Liesel.” Victoria smile.

“Come, sit.” Ethan asks for it, and Victoria sits herself in Ethan's left seat.

Darren awkwardly drank his wine and glanced at Lily. Lily smiled weakly. She knew Darren would feel uncomfortable because of this, therefore, Lily suggested something.

“Let's go from here,” his whisper in Darren's ear.

Darren. “Where?”

“Ke there.”

Lily pointed to the dance floor. Classical music plays, some couples dance to the melody.

Darren raised both eyebrows. “You can dance?”

Lily bit her lips, smiled, then shook her head funny. “No idea.”

“Aih! Then---”

Not yet Darren finished speaking, Lily whispered again, “Just ayooo!”

Lily started tugging at Darren's sleeves. Darren glanced around. They were all busy talking to the person next to them.

Lily's getting more and more attractive to Darren. Darren had no choice but to stand up from his seat. “Everything, we excuse you for a minute.” Darren throws a smile before leaving with Lily.

...----------------...

On the other side …

Ethan sees Darren and Lily rush down to the dance floor. Out of curiosity, he then asked Zhang Fei.

“Who is the woman who was with Darren?”

Zheng Fei turned his head towards Darren and Lily. “Ah, that's his wife.”

Ethan glares at “Her wife?!”

Zhang Fei nodded, then returned to chat with Maxence, the French man next to him.

Ethan was silent. He thought she was just one of the business people who met once a year. But it turns out .. does he belong to Darren?

“Basic, he himself is married and not even legal,” sneer Ethan secretly.

...----------------...

On the dance floor …

“You don't know how to dance, why do you still want to do this?” Omel Darren's.

“Mean it, teach me.”

Lily looked up, she had put on a style. Given how in the movies people do this, Lily knows to put her left hand on Darren's right shoulder, then her right hand holds Darren's left hand.

Darren was still astonished, unconsciously controlled Lily's body.

Anxious because Darren who did not understand the situation why Lily had to throw her shame to come here, he grabbed Darren's right hand and placed it on his left waist.

“Do not daydream. Come on, teach me.”

Lily clumsily climbed up and stepped on Darren's shoes. Darren was shocked. Seeing Lily's eye gesture, Darren naturally moved.

Her, Lily was so light, as if dancing with the wind.

Her sparkling purple dress in her dark night in the middle of the ocean was waving gracefully. Delivering an unparalleled view.

As Prince Charming and Cinderella dance scenes, unknowingly following the music, Darren and Lily sink into each other's gazes.

The people around slowly stopped to watch. Darren is so good at dancing. He's talented. But this he never showed off because he always came alone every year.

But this time it was different. The Darren they knew was often aloof in the midst of this hubbub, instead descending to the dance floor and dancing deftly. It's beyond beautiful. It was as if this dance stage belonged to just the two of them.

“Say, why are you asking me to dance?” Darren asked as he looked into Lily's eyes in the middle of their dance.

“I don't want to see you awkwardly sitting with Victoria. She also has a fiancee.”

“And why do you care so much?”

Lily lowered. “So I was wrong?”

Either according to Darren's thoughts, or indeed Lily's feelings were hurt through her gaze.

“Not really.”

Lily looked up, Darren looked down, their eyes met.

At that moment, a smile as gentle as cotton managed to overturn Darren's heart. At that second, Darren looked at Lily as a woman, not just a mere nanny. At that minute, Darren had no idea what was going on with his heart. At that hour, Darren felt ordinary wild bliss. His heart feels full. Comfortable feelings attack him like love that eventually just comes along without being asked.

He fell in love.

And it's not okay.

...----------------...

Boisterous applause echoed in all directions. The dance ended unexpectedly. A kiss on the forehead becomes a cover. Attract the attention of the audience.

Darren's breathing is unstable. His chest felt full. Full of happiness. She had not even noticed Lily's forehead after ending their dance.

Lily blinked. Did Darren just kiss my forehead?

Lily looked up to stare. Darren was so happy, smiling so widely while looking at Lily. Darren wasn't even aware of what he was doing.

Darren's eyes were agitated. “Ouw--astaga!” He's misbehaving. “I've overdone, huh?” Ask with guilt.

Lily looked down. She was embarrassed, her cheeks were hot. This is the first time a man has kissed her. In front of everyone, of course.

However, classical music slowly played back, filling the hearing of both. The people who were about to dance from earlier are now filling the dance floor again.

“You want to dance again?” Ask Darren shyly. In the midst of people dancing with classical music that is lurking.

Lily nodded, smiling. The two reunited the body.

“Sorry that I missed.” Darren spoke after a moment of silence dancing with Lily.

Lily looked up. “It's okay.”

“Ehem!” Someone suddenly cleared his throat near Darren and Lily.

That's Mike.

“Mike?” Lily said in confusion.

“By turns?” Boldly Mike asked.

Actually Mike was late for the harbor this afternoon. So he and his dad came in a helicopter that just landed on this yacht helipad.

When he arrived at the room, Mike's gaze immediately fell on the two figures who had just finished his dance. That's why he went straight down to the dance floor.

Darren is a little confused, but like a tradition and it doesn't mean anything, a woman at this dance is about to be kidnapped by her man friend. Darren hands Lily to Mike and smiles before going to see Mike's father, Thanit.

“Please don't strain dancing with me, okay?” Mike threw a smile.

Lily smiled shyly.

“Oh, yes! You happy to be here?”

Mike's eyes sparkled, just as they first met in the lobby. Lily just realized this, that Mike was so carefree. He always looked fresh and friendly. It felt as if Lily had gotten comfortable talking to him, as if they had known him for a long time.

Lily smiled as she shook her head. “Not really. I don't like crowded places like this. Too foreign.”

Mike nodded. “Then why is it still here?”

Lily raised both eyebrows. “Where else am I going? I don't know the direction. You are the first time to ride a ship of this size.” Then chuckle in shame.

“Then ... want to go out for air with me?”

Lily blinked. Then glance at the people around who are still busy dancing. The atmosphere is getting boring too.

Lily smiled with a small nod. Mike immediately pulled Lily's hand to go from there. They disappeared silently without anyone noticing.

Sighing as she ran along the road with Mike who pulled her, Lily spread her gaze at the night sea so full of waves from all directions.

Gently the strands of Lily's hair child flew with the wind. Her sparkling purple dress also waved.

So free. Lily breathed a breath of dew this morning solemnly. Under the brightly lit umbrella of the night sky, the moonlight reflected on Lily's face looking up.

Next to him Mike was even stunned to see how beautiful the figure of Lily who was closing her eyes.

Smiling broadly, Mike asked, “You happy?”

Her plump eyelashes rose following the open eyelids, Lily turned her head and smiled. His smile is so friendly, so different, Mike likes it.

“Thank you.”

“For what?”

“Because it's pulled me from there. Compared inside there, here is more refreshing and not crowded.”

“Good.”

Mike and Lily's gaze returned to the painting of the waves that stretched wide in front. Silence greeted for a moment. Both are immersed in their own thoughts. There's no awkwardness. They both feel comfortable.

“Omong-by the way .. I know you're not Darren's wife.”

Well, not until Mike opens his mouth and offends something off limits. Lily suddenly felt naked. It's just a secret known to him and Darren. Hearing this from Mike, which person doesn't panic.

Looking slowly with a look of horror, Lily blinked at Mike's face.

Mike chuckles. “Ah, sorry if I made you uncomfortable.”

Lily frowned. That's not what he wants to hear.

“You know where you are?”

“Mmm .. from my father. You know, my dad was the first investor to accept the Darren project 6 years ago. I lived in America with my mother. In short they divorced.”

Mike let out a long sigh, realizing he had already told the thing he had kept secret to a woman he had just met this morning. Lily's not even her guy.

“Then?”

Mike smiled, and chose to shorten the story. “My father and Darren have known for a long time. Although Darren rarely told me much about his family, except only once or twice he talked about his daughter, my father was sure Darren had never been married. Even if he was really married, Darren would have invited my father. So, in conclusion, you're not his wife. Right, right?”

“How can you be sure when the information you get is based only on your father's story?”

Lily did not confess. Darren had warned him to be careful. And if this secret can still be denied, why not?

Mike gurgling. He nodded, thinking. Lily has a point.

“So, you mean, you guys are really a married couple?”

Mike wishes Lily had shaken. But the woman before him nodded.

“We're married.” Lily shows Mike the ring on his ring finger after remembering. “Try seeing, this is our wedding ring.” Then smile.

It's unbelievable. All day Mike admired that smile. This time he hated it. Hating him for envy. Lily was so happy even when she told me about her wedding ring.

Hmh! That McGold. Very lucky for him.
