“Patients can go home tomorrow,” is the thing that the Doctor said when he finished checking Lily who was lying for 3 days in a hospital bed.
"But don't forget to also take him for a checkup if there are complaints on his vocal cords." Darren nodded. "Then, excuse me" the doctor smiled before leaving the room.
Darren looked at the Doctor's back until it disappeared behind the wall, then turned to look at Lily who turned out to look back at him.
Darren sighed. “Good you can go home tomorrow.”
Lily smiled weakly. The heat has decreased, now it feels somewhat warmer, although in fact the bones follow pain for no reason. The doctor said, Lily had bone fever symptoms along with her fever at the time.
“How about Mary?”
“Not so good, she's a lot of fuss. Maybe in a few days he can come out.”
Lily nodded and looked back at the ceiling. Ah, it had been a few days that he could only lie on the bed. And how many days had he just seen the ceiling of this room. It feels like an endless boring routine.
Lily took a breath.
Lily's sigh managed to make Darren frown. “Why?”
Lily looked. “What?”
“From morning you keep sighing. Even in the afternoon you still breathe. Is something bothering you?”
“I'm just tired of being here.”
Darren blinked, then started to think. “Then ... would you like an afternoon walk with me?”
Spontaneous both eyebrows Lily rose inches. Offered so seems like a good idea. The curvature of the smile slowly decorate, Lily nodded.
Darren quickly went to get a wheelchair in the corner of the room, then set it up. After that he began to help Lily to get up, carrying her to sit in a wheelchair, then include the infusion.
Walking down the aisle of the hospital for the first time, Lily was struck happy. His feelings became dull.
They continued down from the 4th floor to the first floor with an elevator, after arriving, Darren faithfully pushed Lily's wheelchair past the hospital lobby and out towards the park next to this building.
Apparently there are some patients who also enliven this park. At some point, Lily could see that they were the same as her, just looking for the wind because she was too bored in there.
Ah, it feels very fresh to see the lush trees around the lake which is now a stop for Darren and Lily.
Lily was still sitting on her wheelchair, while Darren decided to sit on the park bench.
They were silent in silence, looking at the cloudy horizon as soft as cotton through the reflection of the lake water. Lily closed her eyes, sighing deeply after inhaling the clean air around her. He smiled so much so happy.
“You're so happy?” Darren couldn't help but smile at how Lily enjoyed the moment.
Lily nodded quickly. “Thank you.”
“Sama-sama.”
Then Darren unconsciously ruffled the top of Lily's hair. Making his head duck because he did not know the arrival of the big palm to hold his hair without permission.
Even so, Lily liked it.
However, since Darren acted unknowingly, he secretly blamed himself for doing so.
Darren bit his lips, then smiled guiltily. Lily replied to him with a shy smile.
“Sorry,” Darren didn't dare to look at Lily when he said that.
But Lily quickly shook her head. “No problem.”
After that the two fell silent for quite a while, looking back at the lake. Sometimes Lily chose to look at the purplish tinge of the sky, the color as sweet as flowers blooming, as attractive as butterflies in the stomach that began to fly wildly.
Lily's aware. Suddenly he was hit by reality. Smile disappeared.
Lily realized, she began to cultivate a sense that should not exist and not be needed. Lily owes Darren a lot. How could she have any more sense of this, more than between a nanny and an employer?
God, stop beating!
Lily beat her chest unconsciously. It was spontaneous to make Darren panic excessively.
“You why? Your chest hurts? Say it! Is it because of the water? You didn't have a panic attack, did you?” Darren attacked with questions.
Lily suddenly stopped beating her chest and quietly looked at Darren's face while holding both shoulders tightly.
Lily doesn't know why. But does Darren have to show his attention like this? Is Darren worried about him? Why give him hope? Why would Lily be this semelancholic?
Lily threw her face away, looking down deep. “I'm fine,” Lily replied coldly, then she cleared her throat. “I want to go back to my room.”
Darren blinked after his excessive panic. Then he flinched. “Oh, okay, alright.”
Darren doesn't understand anything during their trip back to Lily's room, but one thing Darren realizes is that Lily has become cold to him. Lily was never like this, she had always been the kind of woman who was obedient and gentle. And it bothered Darren who had only first gotten this kind of treatment from him.
Darren's not angry. He was astonished and wondering. Though none of his treatment on Lily is strange to have to get cold treatment like this.
But Darren was trying to understand. Maybe Lily was just being sensitive because of her fever. Yeah, maybe so. Hopefully not for long.
...----------------...
Darren is wrong.
The next day when Lily gets out of the hospital, she instead prefers to accept Mike's help to drive her home instead of choosing Darren who first took the initiative to do so.
Lily's been harder to understand.
On the other hand he said that Darren better keep Mary alone who clearly needs her father. But on the other hand, when he said that, it was as if his gaze had become cold for no reason. Darren didn't even look at it closely, but he felt it. As if again, Lily could not bear being near Darren and wanted to dodge.
What exactly is going on?
Little did he knows, Lily was just trying to dodge the growing taste in her chest. A heart that palpitates when she is around him, her cheeks that blush when she looks at him, all of that is impossible for Lily to show Darren.
Love is deadly. Can spread quickly. Shredding the chest mercilessly. And the weak Lily helplessly had to fight against such feelings.
What else could he do if not by being cold and evasive? Wouldn't it be easier, neither side would get hurt in the end.
Just imagine, Darren will get used to Lily's cold demeanor and start ignoring her. Then Lily who was ignored began to get both used to it and decided to forget her feelings.
Yes, in such a way, then no feelings should be hurt.
