THE OUT OF MY LEAGUE

THE OUT OF MY LEAGUE
01

“Lily, my dark blue das you put where?”

Whether since when Lily who was a babysitter in the McGold family mansion was transformed into a maid who took care of the needs of her master. Not only take care of Mary, the son of the host—but it has been a long time since Lily last remembered she had to take care of a big baby who always forgot where her things were.

Lily who was in Mary's room hurriedly ran towards her master's room and took the deep blue tie.

“Can I tell you, I put it here, why can't you remember it?” Lily grumbling.

Darren McGold just shook his head while smiling, then took the tie Lily thrust at him. 6 years of living with Lily, Darren had learned to get used to the nagging.

Afterwards, without saying goodbye, the woman ran back to Mary's room. Lily hurriedly stuffed Mary's school supplies in her bag. Last night he forgot about the exhaustion. Sunday is usually Mary will be invited by her father to various entertainment venues and obviously Lily must participate. So, Lily ended up in the fog on this super busy Monday.

“Mary, you're done wearing your shoes, not yet?”

Mary did not answer. Lily looked back. Apparently Mary was trying to put her foot in the shoe. Sighing, Lily approached her master's son.

***

Lilly was by no means negligent in doing her duties during her time working for the McGold family. Well, maybe ever. In the first weeks he worked because he had to get used to it. But after that, during these 6 years, Lily never once let down her master.

So how can it! How could Lily lose track? He suddenly panicked.

Elementary grade 1 children usually go home 20 minutes before 10 am, through it, there are no more children who roam besides students from grade 2 to 6. That's why Lily thought that Mary might have been taken by someone else, and that was definitely not Darren.

“Didn't you see anything strange when the kids came out of the gate?” Lily asked frantically at a school security guard.

“Aduh, Mom. I also don't know, the kids that come out there are many, there's no way I'm paying attention one-on-one. If anyone is still waiting for his parents, will definitely wait with me in this post. But coming home from school, the children almost all immediately picked up by his parents, I did not see suspicious things, Ms.”

Hearing that answer, Lily could only ponder. If there was nothing suspicious, it was certain that the person who brought Mary was a clever person. For now, he had to report to his employer first.

“So yes?” The security guard is unemployed. “Then I'll excuse you, sir.” After that, Lily left and decided to sit at the front stop of the school.

Lily took her phone out of her pocket and called Darren's number. A while waiting frantically, Lily immediately spoke, “Halo?!”

“What's up?” Darren asked calmly.

“Sorry, Sir. I don't know what else to do but tell this to Sir, but ...” Lily bit her finger. “Mary lost!”

Lily wanted to cry after admitting that. It's all his fault! It's wrong not to come sooner. Lily was afraid that her employer was disappointed because she had been troublesome so far they were even negligent in the task.

“You said what?” Darren's in disbelief at the end of the line there.

“I was late to pick her up, and now Mary isn't around. I asked the security guard, but there was no result. I'm confused as to how, sir. This ... this is my fault.” Lily was stunned in one breath to explain, she was panicked and scared.

Across the street, Darren rushes to say, “Oke, where are you now?”

“Wait for me there until I arrive, we will look for it together.”

Lily did not have time to answer when the phone connection was cut off unilaterally. Grasping her phone anxiously until Darren comes to pick her up, Lily is finally in her employer's car.

“Tuan ..” Lily bowed. “I'm sorry.”

Darren is still focused on driving. “Not mind you, I've tracked down his location connected to his watch.”

Ah, that watch! Darren bought it and set it up just in case. And it seems to be of some use today.

“Then where is Mary?”

“Di cafe.”

“Cafe?!”

But Mary didn't know the direction of the road, how could she possibly get to the cafe!

Darren nodded. “We'll find it there, so you don't have to worry.”

Lily wanted to cry. Even his master did not look angry at all, even though he had troubled him. Lily felt guilty for the umpteenth time.

“Come down.”

Once there, Darren and Lily both get off and walk into a casual cafe that turns out to be a few blocks from Mary's school distance.

Crings ....

The bell on the door rang, Darren and Lily took the opportunity to observe the table with the little boy. And it's right by the cafe window.

But something strange, a woman was with Mary. His position was against them. When approached, Lily clearly saw the change in expression on Darren's face. They stared long enough.

Lily did not know who the woman was, but she chose to quietly observe. Her appearance is not like a kidnapper, she wears sunglasses with an ordinary white dress that unfortunately fits on her body. Very fashionable.

But then Darren immediately pulled Mary and carried her, then picked up Mary's bag and gave it to Lily who was standing next door.

“Don't see him again, or you'll see me angry.”

It was the last sentence Darren put so much pressure on the woman before taking Lily and Mary out of the cafe.

Following behind in a hurry, as well as seeing Darren's annoyed expression, Lily was forced not to ask who the woman was and why her master was so different when dealing with her. Lily was only silent during the trip while hugging Mary in the back seat who was suddenly frightened because she did not understand the situation.
