THE OUT OF MY LEAGUE

THE OUT OF MY LEAGUE
18

Lily was lying all day in Mike's apartment.

Everything smells like Mike. Even the plain black short-sleeved shirt that Lily was wearing had a very, very Mikey scent.

Slowly Lily got up, then took the compress on her forehead to put it back into the basin.

The fever is starting to come down.

Mike said he's going to the office today. She said that if Lily wanted to do something, she was free to wear anything in this apartment.

Although actually Mike is worried, because he is afraid Lily has not healed properly to start doing everything herself.

But because Lily who forced him is okay to be left alone, yes inevitably Mike just believe.

Sighing, Lily gathered strength to stand up from the bed, then went towards the bathroom.

As soon as she finished urinating, Lily came out with a slightly relieved feeling.

Now he's hungry.

Opening the door and stepping out of the room and stopping at the waist-high glass barrier on the second floor, Lily's eyes traced the entire room from up there.

The floor was clear shiny, so clean as new. In front of him was a view of the city through a super-large giant window.

In the spacious corner of the room there is a unit of cream-colored sofa, complete with a wide fur carpet under the feet of the table.

There is also a TV that is no less wide, thinner, more wow than Darren's at home.

Lily gaping. Mike is definitely not a mediocre person.

Lily continued to look to the left, not far from the distance of the sofa, there is a minimalist dining table that is super modern. It is close to the kitchen.

Without hesitation Lily immediately stepped down towards the kitchen, about to find food from the refrigerator.

Although actually Mike has made him porridge, unfortunately Lily is not tasteful. He wanted to eat something his tongue wanted.

Take a can of orange juice and grapes. Both of these are fresher and healthier.

Lily enjoyed her breakfast while sitting leaning against the window, gazing at the cityscape in the morning.

Unknowingly he was pensive until last night's events increasingly loomed. His mouth was no longer busy chewing the grapes, he sank too deep, looking grimly at the indeterminate object.

The taste of alcohol on Darren's lips felt as if it was still left behind. Lily held her lips.

His mind wandered; he was littered with disrespect. Where is the man he always admired? Where is the meek and always realistic-minded Darren?

All this time Lily trusted him, trusted Darren that he was a gentleman. To look after and respect a woman as she should.

Butwhat? Kiss Lily's lips in heat without her permission? Could it be called harassment and attempted rape?

She turns into a disgusting bastard in Lily's eyes. Just like his grateful stepfather had died a year ago.

A single tear spilled with his samblang. Lily hated herself, she did not want to be weak by crying. He should be strong and start looking after himself.

Rubbed rough tears that spilled, along with his lips that still leaves a sense of the dirty Darren action last night. Lily kept rubbing him like she wanted to go crazy, she was disgusted at him and hated the culprit. Lily did not stop until a drop of fresh blood was attached at the end of her shirt.

Bloody lips.

Lily was crying again. He hugged his knees and sobbed there.

He doesn't know what happened to him. Either because he felt most disadvantaged in this, or because he did not know what he should do next.

There's no way he's holding me accountable. Lily clearly knew where she was. She's just a nanny. That'sallthatis. Not more.

There's no way he's suing Darren. Lily was not so good at the kindness Darren had given her until she had done so.

Lily was completely trapped in a sea of anxiety. It was as if he had no other choice but to forget about the incident and behave like it never happened.

But how?

She's not okay.

Triying ...

Triying ...

Then, a ringtone from the phone echoed throughout the corner of the room, interrupting Lily.

Lily raised her head slowly, still as he pleased, she blinked to get sober.

The sound was like it would not end quickly. But where it came from, Lily had no idea. Initiating to find her, Lily wiped her tears and went to put her breakfast on the dinner table before going to look for the origin of the sound.

Lily ended up finding the flat object on the bottom table of the television hanging on the wall.

Lily grabs him and finds the caller is Mike's own father.

The woman blinked, thinking for a while, before deciding to lift her up.

"Mmm... hello?" Say hello Lily.

Thanit across the street who heard a woman's voice from Mike's phone just glared. His son has not stopped playing women!

"Where's Mike?" Thanit asked so cynically.

"Mike is going to the office," Lily replied so gently, there was still sadness left in her eyes.

"Then why is the phone on you?"

"Mmm .. It looks like Mike forgot about it," he said of his own confusion. "Should I bring it so you two could talk?"

Thanit spontaneously looked at his phone screen for a moment. This one woman is a bit different from the usual woman he heard through Mike's phone. They usually sound like paid prostitutes or spoiled children from wealthy families, but this one woman speaks politely and gently.

Thanit. There were important things he wanted to talk about right now, so it should not be delayed anyway. "Mmm .. fine."

"Then I close first, Uncle."

"Hm."

Lily did not get ready to remember she did not bring any clothes, so she directly walked out of the apartment wearing the short plain black clothes she had been wearing since waking up, long black training pants and sandals are available on the shoe rack.

The hardest thing about getting the phone to the owner was getting Lily to run a few blocks from Mike's apartment building to Darren's office; he said; making the health of Lily who was still recovering was forcefully drained.

It's his fault for leaving without preparation. No clothes and no money. Really sloppy.

Lily did not know how many tens of minutes she ran and walked after pausing for a moment, but she finally reached the glass building.

A sweat filled his temple, his lips pale wonderfully, his gaze blurred and as if ordered him to be closed. But Lily can't be off guard. He stepped in limping while holding his stomach that hurt from running too far.

In the lobby on the first floor there was a reception desk, Lily approached the same woman at that time.

"Excuse me ..."

The woman with the mole in the lower corner of her right eye looked up, her name was Jane. He was quite surprised to see Lily's little look.

"Mmm... Can I help you?"

Lily swallowed her saliva half to death. Then stick out Mike's phone he took from his training pants.

"Can you give this phone to the owner? His father wanted to talk important things now. His name is Mike, I don't know his last name but please tell him this." Lily put on a pleading expression.

Jane who from the beginning had pity with Lily immediately agreed. "Ba, okay. I'll tell him--but Miss ... are you okay?"

Lily waved her hand. "It's okay. I'd better go now."

Jane was about to call when Lily turned around, there was a sense of worry in her chest.

And sure enough, Lily who could not walk straight anymore finally fell, leaving a loud noise after her body fell.

Some of the people in the lobby were distracted and went straight to Lily. Jane panicked and called the hospital.

Lily's body was crowded with several people surrounding her, becoming a spectator without any intention of doing anything.

Right at that moment, Darren got out of the elevator, about to come out to pick up Tamtam at the very instant. But seeing the crowded situation in the lobby of his office building, Darren decided to take a look. As soon as the people shifted, Darren was glued to where he stood.

The woman who had been a full day of burden on her mind suddenly appeared with this condition, her heart was of course squeezed. So ill.

Darren kneels. What the hell happened to you? Inner groaned.

Swallowing his gruff saliva like he wanted to cry, Darren looked up and met Jane who had just entered the crowd.

"Sir, I called an ambulance. No need to worry."

Without waiting for Jane's response and people's reaction. With such a balance, Darren carried Lily's body and carried her away as if the sight was ordinary.

The disappearance of Darren's sturdy back from behind the wall suddenly invited baseless talk that was certainly not pleasant in the ears of the employees' mouths.

Jane snorted in annoyance and dispersed them. More precisely drive them out from the front of the reception desk.

...----------------...

It took Darren ten minutes to wait for Lily to wake up.

When the woman first opened her eyes, she blinked to wake up, then scanned the entire room. Once he found out he was in Darren's room, Lily immediately woke up. His head was spontaneously hit by the wall.

Luckily Darren is there to hold Lily's body from falling and instantly lay her back down.

But Lily overreacted, she forcibly threw both of Darren's hands and pushed the man away from her.

Darren stepped back and watched Lily who was still holding her head in a state of sitting leaning on the sofa.

"Lilly ..." Darren called out timidly, as if worriedly saying wrong. "Why are you like this?"

Lily closed her eyes so tightly, as if with so much pain in her head would subside.

Deciding to open her eyes forcibly, Lily's gaze still looked blurry, she flickered until her focus returned to normal.

Darren tried to touch Lily again. But Lily shifted to the side in fear of parasites, making Darren sadly pull his arm back. The man finally gave up and sat down again on his single sofa. Waiting for Lily to cope with her pain alone.

"I. .. I have to go," Lily said as if she was being time-hunted and immediately stood up to leave after a moment of pain relief.

"Wait!" Darren moved out of his chair, standing there.

Lily quit. He fell, his heart racing in fear. He did not even intend to turn to face his master.

"Where are you going, Lily? You don't have anyone in this town .. Why did you just leave? I searched for you this morning for 2 hours, to the place you used to go, but you weren't anywhere. What's the matter? Why are you avoiding like this?"

There are many reasons why Lily should. But not many people understand him. And that includes the man who has been with him for 6 years. Especially when the man himself is the cause of this runyam problem.

A single tear that was held back finally spilled its burden.

Lily did not want to look weak. So he brushed his tears.

"Lilly ..." Darren moved closer. "You crying?"

"Stop!" Lily snapped with a trembling voice. "I don't want to see anyone right now. Please don't look for me."

Lily stepped away. Darren was after him. The door Lily had just opened was slammed firmly by Darren until it closed again, startling Diana and Ophelia out there.

Lily lowered her head in silence, behind her Darren stood so close, her breathing even felt as it blew between Lily's neck.

"Please don't go." Darren sounded panicked, sounding afraid of losing.

"I can't."

Darren spontaneously held onto both of Lily's shoulders, forcing her to turn towards him.

"Why? Why can't you stay and settle down?" Darren's angry. She's frustrated.

Lily seemed to not hold in such a position, she tried to escape but Darren's grip was so tight.

And why is Darren angry here? Isn't Lily the one who was harmed?

"Because something you did made me unable to stay!"

For the first time, Darren feels anger inside Lily. It was so real that it made the man look surprised.

"A, what do you mean? What have I done?"

Lily tightened her jaw, slowly trying to release Darren's grip that started to loose.

Then before Darren's eyes, the woman looked up and stared with teary eyes, emphasizing every word that came from anger.

"Something I can never forgive."

Lily turned around and opened the door, exiting the room and crying with fear still remaining.

Wrong if he looks tough, from the beginning actually Lily was afraid the same thing would happen again. Being near the man who had abused her was certainly a feeling of anxiety. It was as if the same incident was playing out before his eyes and no one could guarantee his safety.

...----------------...

At the same time, Mike got out of the elevator because it was time to rest.

Arriving in the lobby, Jane who was behind the reception desk and had been waiting for the appearance of Mike-suddenly called. "Sir! Mr Mike!"

Mike spontaneously turned his head and pointed at himself. "Me?"

Jane nodded. Mike walked over to the reception desk and asked, "What's wrong?"

Jane handed Lily the phone. "It's Dad's phone, isn't it?"

Mike took it hesitating and checked it out. "True, this is my phone. But ... Why is it on you?"

"Ah, there was a woman who came to bring him here."

Duh! It must be Lily, when I left her on purpose because Dad would always call me on the 10th.

Mike's brows frowned, deep in thought. After that he looked up to ask, "Then"

Jane felt burdened to tell the truth. "He ... He fainted as soon as he was coming home, sir."

Both Mike's eyebrows spontaneously rose several inches. "Huh?! Fainted?"

Jane was scared. "Yes, Sir. He was taken to Mr. McGold's room. He asked not to call an ambulance."

Mike was frowning in. "All right, thanks for the information."

After that he excused himself and ran into the elevator again to go to Darren's room.

And just at that moment, as soon as the elevator opened on the floor that Mike was heading to, Lily's figure appeared. He was wiping away the rest of his tears as he stepped down into the elevator. Unaware of Mike's presence at all, Lily presses the button to go to the first floor.

"Lilly ..."

Lily looked up, she found Mike glued to her eyes in the elevator.

Lily gulped as Mike faced her.

"You crying?"

"Ti, no. I'm just flickering."

Mike shakes. "Don't lie to me, tell me who made you cry."

Lily remained silent. Mike is actually already prejudiced that Darren the culprit is certainly getting up. The man only had to hear from Lily's mouth and immediately went to beat Darren.

But Lily looks scared.

"Lily, tell me what I'm supposed to do. I will do whatever you want. Did Darren make you cry? If you want, I'll teach him a lesson. You just have to say that he did it, and I'm gonna beat him up."

Long Lily fell silent, but in the end she just shook her head. The woman bit her lips withstanding the cry.

It feels like Mike is just a stranger Lily has met a few times, but why does he care the most about the others? Why would Mike be this good with Lily?

Lily is back. This time he could not stand it. Mike who was angry could only exhale rough breaths to calm down.

Slowly he approached, then clenched Lily's body which was only as high as his chest. Patting the woman's back that felt like it would be destroyed right then and there.

Joss's gaze softened, so real was Lily's sadness she felt. He doesn't know what this woman's problem is, but one he knows, is that he wants to protect Lily at all costs.
